The ATV Midlands region advert breaks from that Pink Panther film from July 1981 were on the MHP, and so it's interesting to see these on here. Two adverts on here were shown in both areas: the Schweppes Bitter Lemon and the Findus French Bread Pizza one. The Pomagne advert was advertised in both regions, but this one was a shorter ten second version of the 30 second advert which was shown on ATV that evening - the only advert to give a nod to the then Prince Charles and the Princess to be, Diana. I am certain that when William married Catherine in 2011, there were a lot more Royal Wedding-related adverts around that time, not counting the sales adverts of course.

Not seen most of these ads before! I remember our teacher at school waffling on about the royal wedding till everyone was bored senseless though!!!!

I was only 6 but I do remember the wedding. People had bunting out. We had roast chicken for dinner and the watched the wedding whilst digging in to our tin of royal wedding toffees. I’ll always render seeing the Prince and Princess of Wales on the balcony and then turning to my mum and asking her “if She ( Princess Di)was a real princess now?❤ Such a crying shame that things didn’t work out differently between them 😢

Strange to know that on this night, Lady Diana as she was, was having a dreadful night in Clarence House. Charles had told her he didn't love her, and she really wanted to call the wedding off, but couldn't.
