They are trying to shoehorn their own methodology of religiosity onto scientific reality. The word 'evolutionist' implies an '-ism' mindset, i.e. evolution as a ritual practice. No, science doesn't work that way. People actually use their native intelligence to determine what's real, as opposed to believing spurious nonsense from presupposed authority. It's like the difference between being a four year old and an adult.

I am continually accused of being guilty of Dunning-Krugger syndrome because I noticed an error in Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity, which is easy to explain. The equations Einstein used to describe relativity show that if there is a clock in a flying airplane that is slower than a clock on the ground, as Einstein theorizes, the speed of the airplane is shown by v in the equations and is the same speed as seen from the ground or from the airplane. We common people live in something called reality where if the pilot of the airplane has a slower clock than an observer on the ground has, he will get a faster speed for the airplane. I can use the correct equations for relativity and get the result that we observe in any experiment than can be devised. The pilot gets a faster speed. What I say about the Dunning-Krugger accusation is that in order for it to be more than a personal accusation, there would need to be someone who can show that the pilot and the observer on the ground get the same speed for the airplane. Where is this person? Not in this discussion. Watch how many atheists answer this post.

Well, first of all, I don't know what his argument has to do with atheism anyway. Atheism is not the belief that the Evolutionary Model is true. It's a red herring. Drag you down the rabbit hole of defending evolution, is a way of avoiding any argument for the existence of gods. It works too, because it's tough for people to hear someone mangle the theory in the first place, so off you go down the irrelevant rabbit hole. Simple answer to that is "Yes, I concede that your understanding of Evolution is indeed incorrect. Now, do you have evidence for a god or not?"

You really start to see how little theists think some of these "arguments" out, idk if I can even call them arguments it's more like a connected series of "gotcha" talking points that add up to one big nothing burger lol "Well we don't have hardly any full skeletal fossils of early humans!" Yea, and? What is that line even supposed to be implying? Like, if you go out and find a tooth and only a tooth, that tells you so much! It tells you an animal lived there, it tells you what it ate, it tells you about how big it was, etc etc. Finding a piece of the hip or skull can tell you whether that animal was bipedal or quadrupedal, it tells you how it walked or whether it could climb. Fining a skull fragment can tell you about the size of the brain. It's even more frustrating when they say things like "Oh yea I study so much" Like, really? I get the feeling their idea of "studying" is closer to "furiously googling as many loaded questions with the sole purpose of trying to debunk that thing you don't like" If I google "information about evolution" I'm going to get wildly different results than if I search "reasons evolution is false".

This caller's question about the ratio of human fossils to dinosaur fossils could easily be answered in *any* Introductory class to evolution. All it takes is a brief explanation of why full/perfect fossilization is an extremely rare occurrence, and a reminder that Homo Sapiens has only been around for an estimated 300.000 years - vs millions, often tens of millions of years for most dinosaurs.

Well said! I don't think we have a 100% complete TRex for example. And the hominin fossil record is pretty phenomenal. We have huge portions of skeletons for over a dozen transitional species from more basal apes to the modern apes we are 😁

As someone who fervently believes in extraterrestrial life to the point that ive tattooed them on my body, it is because of evolution that i have those beliefs. And both are far far more believable and documentable than absolutely any part of the bible.

What a mess of factually incorrect statements and complete non-sequiturs. From where did he get his claim of there only being 5 fossils between ape and human? From a creationist, probably. There's a "List of human evolution fossils" Wikipedia page that lists a ton of fossils of various species relating to human evolution, and that isn't even a complete list.

I actually think I have this number on the low side, but as I understand it we currently have around 9000 fossils related directly to human evolution. Where he got 5 from I don't know.

I can’t understand how the whole “denial of evolution” based argument is even still a thing since the sequencing of the Human Genome. The Fossil evidence (which was already enormous) - is made almost redundant in the face of the Overwhelming evidence from DNA & Genetics. I mean the Biologist who Headed the Human Genome Project…..is an Evangelical Christian! “Yes, evolution by descent from a common ancestor is clearly true.
