WHAT IS TALK HEATHEN?
Talk Heathen is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared toward long-form and on-going dialogue with theists & atheists about religion, theism, & secularism. Talk Heathen is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
Talk Heathen is filmed in front of a live studio audience every week at the Freethought Library of the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop & support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing & friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of government-religion separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists & to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

I was raised in a secular household. My father was a doctor, a scientist, a skeptic, a rational thinker and an Atheist. When I was about 8 years old I told him that every time we had to stay over at Granny’s house, she would make us say prayers and sing the “Jesus loves me” song. I told him I didn’t understand it and asked him about it. He told me that some people, like Granny, believe that there is a God who wants to punish everybody because our ancestors did something he didn’t like, and he punishes all of their descendants. The punishment was to burn in Hell for all eternity. Me: That doesn’t seem fair. So he’s the bad guy? Dad: Yes. But there’s also a guy called Jesus that can keep you from going to Hell and let you go to Heaven. Me: So he’s the good guy, right? Dad: that’s what they believe. Do you want to hear the kicker? Me: yeah. Dad: They’re both THE SAME GUY! Me: Stop kidding around, that can’t be true, it doesn’t make any sense. We need God to save us from God? Dad: That’s the idea. Me: Well, that’s a pretty stupid idea. Ah, the wisdom of youth!

Two atheists Atheism has nothing to do with evidence has nothing to do with critical thinking you're not even required to have a brain to be an atheist. Atheism is a disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods. Which of course means it's an unwillingness or inability to accept God. Most atheist approximately 90% are forced into atheism living under their atheistic humanist government like North Korea matter of fact all atheistic governments are communists without exception. The Holocaust museum also has a presence on Twitter, where every day they post the story of another Jewish Holocaust victim. I'm not a bigoted a$$hat, so it makes me incredibly sad. About 35 years ago. I owned a bookstore. One day a couple of older women came in to the store and asked to speak to the owner. They were sisters, trying to sell a book that one of them had written. They both had the Camp numerical tattoos on their wrists. One sister had written a book about their history, and their experiences surviving being rounded up, and locked up in a death camp. To this day it makes me sad that I didn't have time to talk to them more. American troops helped liberate some of those campus, and they were horrified and sickened by what they found. I'm enraged that the people that were the victims of a horrific genocide are now carrying out a genocide in Gaza, so f*ck Netanyahu and his cronies.

The guy has a bit of a point in that some people likely will fight even if there's enough food for everyone. But I'd argue if everyone had enough food, that would reduce the number of people who would fight because people who are only fighting to get food wouldn't have reason to fight, and the people who would fight regardless are a much smaller number, so it would still be worth it feeding everyone because even if it doesn't end fighting, it would lessen it.

Genesis 1:1 "In the Beginning God created..." (everything). Isaiah 45:7 God created good and evil (paraphrased). If God wants to save everyone from the evil he created, he should separate himself in half (good from evil) and throw the half of himself that created evil into the lake of fire. If Christianity's God created everything, and now has a goal of separating evil from everything else, then what was his purpose in creating evil?

🐨I've been an atheist for at least 6 years and on the subject I remember that the premise taught on why the perceived god of the bible allows suffering was based on two philosophical arguments. A seasoned theist will attempt to explain that there's absolutely nothing that a human being can endure that can be compared to the "Resurrection" into a new body. And second, god is chastising Christians as well as non believers while everything works to his glory. It was difficult answering this question for my own satisfaction and It actually took me over three decades before my mind could escape this psychological prison. I would have like to have heard a more mature Christian to had called in and attempted to address this question....🐨
