These are the same sockets as the low profile Husky sockets that are available at home depot. Easier to warranty (lifetime) at Home Depot. Also Astro makes a double flex head ratchet that fits both the 1/2 and the 3/8 socket sets: Astro Tools 78300 Ratcheting Double Flex Head Wrench For Nano Sockets.

Astro makes a 19 piece set 78319 is the part number up to 24mm

The Astro double ended ratcheting wrench made for this set has a socket retention feature. Better than a standard ratcheting 17mm from another manufacturer. Astro Tools 78300

Good question and I don't think you can go too wrong with either choice, the extended ratcheting set or the extended wrenches. Cool discussion!

Quinn from harbor freight just came out with an identical clone to these Astro nano sockets 10 to 24 no skips made in Taiwan great quality chrome moly for 40 bucks. Awsome deal.

Yes, I'll definitely check out these and some more Quinn updated ratchets because they are basically rebranded Gearwrench.

Quinn from harbor freight just came out with a no skip chrome moly 10 to 24 mm made in Taiwan set 1/2 inch metric set for only 40 bucks. They hit it out of the park with this one.

Yeah might pick up a set just to do a comparison but either way it's probably a better deal to buy those because you can take them to the store and turn them if you have to warranty any of them out.

FYI Astro ALSO sells a 5 (bigger sized) socket "add-on set" but I think primarily available mostly through tool trucks.

There's a job for every tool there are tools u won't use often but when u need it nothing else will do I have tools I've used 1or 2 times in over 40 years of working on vehicles

They do make a shorter one but it is a double flex head. Search for Astro Pneumatic 78300. Thanks for letting me know that, ok try to update the link!

@@oneanddonediy That one is unavailable as well! 🤦‍♂🤣 I would love to have that 78300 set for my work tool bag. I'm currently hauling around a bunch of open-end wrenches clipped to a carabiner. That ratcheting wrench and a handful of the sockets would take up less space in my bag..

This set works very well up to 15 mm but bolts using nuts larger than 15 mm are to wide to pass through making the mountain set a much better set for professional and diy.

​. I have the wrenches as a cornwell re brand. If you do go with the icon keep the set together. It seems some stores only warranty entire icon sets and not individual pieces.

You could always buy a reversible flex 17mm from somewhere and change the head out

I'm just going to test it in a regular 17 mm and see how that goes. The short handle 78300 it's hard to find right now. People are price gouging for like 80 bucks and up.

​Blue point sells a ratcheting, reversible, locking 12 point wrench (part # BOERMFLCG17) I pair this with an ares low profile impact adapter that goes from 1/4 drive to 3/8 drive. I sandwich the wrench between the nano sockets and the impact adapter and it holds in place firmly. Some of the low profile clearance is lost but it still beats my other ratchet and socket combos for low profile and power. Side not i've also started pairing other blue point ratcheting wrenches in this same family with vim's 1/4 ,3/8,1/2 inch wobble drive wrench adapters to get some low profile tight woble ratchets. When I showed the 3/8 to my tool dealer and commented that its a stronger low profile ratchet when used with the vim wrench adapaters. Also cheaper than a locking flex head ratchet from snap on with a simpler locking design. He had no comment other than he'd warranty any crazy idea I paired with the tools.

Jesus. This thing must be fire. You can't find it in stock anywhere.

Actually Home Depot makes the exact same set just under the Husky brand. It's identical.

@@oneanddonediy I see the nano socket set. But I need that handle with the flexhead socket. Thats the seriously out of stock item. I don't see an option for that from Husky. But ya that Nano socket set from Husky is 1/3 the price with a lifetime warranty.

Oh sorry I thought you were talking about the sockets. But the flexhead rachet I've only seen on eBay at a very inflated price.

Can’t find this ratchet anywhere! It’s annoying…

I guess I got lucky then! I know the 78300 rachet has been discontinued, but I don't know if that is the case for the rachet I have in this video.
