Are you tired of your nervous stomach wrecking your life? Or, do you hold tension in your stomach from anxiety? You can learn how to relax your stomach with this guided meditation for digestion.
This meditation will help you release the grip on your stomach muscles and allow your entire body to relax.
The body naturally holds tension, and we all have certain tension hotspots in common where you are unconsciously holding tension. The stomach is one of the worst offenders. It’s not possible to avoid stress in life. But you can do something about how it affects your body. This tension release exercise will teach you how to relax your stomach naturally, relieve anxiety and stomach problems, and get rid of nervous stomach. Stress can make your stomach hurt. But if you can learn to release the abdominal tension you can feel more control over the sensations.

    @@heatherlegacy2731 Me, too. I’m sorry you have to go through that. It’s just awful. If your stomach hurts, you can’t forget about it like you can another part of your body. I know we’re supposed to thank our stomachs, but sometimes I hate mine! I can’t help it. Good luck to you. I love this meditation.

    This was so helpful. Next to a high heart rate, upset stomach is one of the worst symptoms I face from anxiety. And if I even feel a stomach ache coming on it can trigger my anxiety or a panic attack. Very glad I found this video. Thank you for taking the time to make it

    Same thing happens to me, I hate this feelings, I don't know if anxiety triggers the stomach issues or the stomach issues triggers the anxiety. But every time it happens I'm here on this audio to help me calm down.

    I woke up in the middle of the night with bad nausea related anxiety and didn’t know what to do. I sat on my bathroom floor frantically searching youtube for a solution and found this exercise. It helped me tremendously and I will be coming back to this video. Thank you so much.

    Can I just say look at all of us wonderful and sensitive people here. We have these issues because we probably all caring and deep human beings. I have suffered from panic and anxiety for 15 years and currently going through the worst experience with it of my life. I have PTSD from emergency ill health last year and now health anxiety. Heart palpitations, rib pain, back pain and severe stomach/bowel cramps with very loose stool. Shaking, cold extremities and have lost a lot of weight. Reaching the 3 month mark of having these constant symptoms. I wanted to send love and light to you all out there suffering. Happy to chat here anytime. I am going to try this meditation tonight as it sounds wonderful and just found it! Love to you all brave souls xx

    I’ve had gerd since 2010, but because of the pandemic my gerd symptoms flared up and brought me anxiety. It’s been a week since I’ve seen this video. I have downloaded it and have listened to it for about a week now. Well, you see, recently, my gerd symptoms are triggered by my anxiety. But ever since listening to this video, day by day i feel better. I know recovery is a long process, but now i can see that I’m on the path to recovery. I hope everything becomes better for everyone that is suffering like me. Thank you for people like you. May God bless you eternal blessings.     I've been having random panic attacks and this helps so much, I have emetophobia and the nausea the panic attack causes makes me terrified, but when I listen to this I always leave completely relaxed

I just wanted to say I do too and trust me all the anxiety and fear gets better. 🤍 I felt like my whole world was over but it’s not, there’s so much out there that you’ll get to experience freely or less anxiously.     I have emetaphobia too. The anxiety is off the scale whenever there's a nausea risk, a real one or actual one. I can absolutely feel where you're at. These meditations are really good aren't they for a quick come down? Wishing you release from this horrible phobia. x

    I get this all the time. I will catch my stomach tightening up all through the day. It bothers my breathing and gerd. I also am a constipated person. I hope this helps with me at night. The calm night makes me focus on all my tightening and stresses me to where I get upset.

I've had severe anxiety for the past 5 years that always goes straight to my stomach, leaving me staying up all throughout the night with my whole body shaking and gagging if a stressful situation comes my way.     I'm so glad it helped. Anxiety can really do a number on your digestive system, mostly because your body goes into survival mode when anxious and slows down your digestion.     @@starrysoup hey, I think I might have IBS, but I’m not sure... all my life I was never regular, had a bowel movement every 6-10 days with really bad cramps around 20 minutes before I had to go. Since December 30 through all of January and now February, it has gotten worse and I have been bloated everyday. Not just a little, my stomach sticks out 2-3 inches depending on the hour. It’s from my lower abdomen all the way up to my rib cage. I have been gassy, had headaches, been tired and not motivated, and like I said bloated, sometimes my stomach expands in front of my eyes. I have been very stressed out lately I feel like (I have anxiety but recently it has gotten a lot worse). After Christmas break I learned my school was going online and that’s when it started. Then we go back in person and it doesn’t get better I feel like I’m falling behind in every subject (my grades are fine I’m the top of my class but it’s my work ethic that seems to be going away... school is easy for me so that usually means I go above and beyond on projects and homework but I come home and don’t even open my backpack anymore... I rush and do all my homework and studying in a 20 minute study hall... this isn’t normal for me but I can’t help it I’m so unmotivated and anxious). This whole bloating thing is also causing my anxiety, I’m skinny and my stomach is always flat no matter what I eat but now for over a month straight I’m bloated everyday and it’s very noticeable compared to what my stomach used to look like (I can’t see my ribs or abs anymore). My jeans don’t fit from the lower abdomen bloating, my bras are too tight from the upper bloating. I also think I’m lactose intolerant, and I’ve been eating more dairy lately (because I’m trying to increase my protein- nothing to do with this I’m just trying to gain more muscle). I’ve been researching IBS and a lot of the symptoms and other people’s experiences I can relate to. Do you think I have IBS? Also I forgot to mention I’m 15.

    For most of my IBS flare ups, I have searched for something that explains the process and requires you to use the connection between our minds and the gut and finally i have. This is not only really helpful but also empowering. I am not being critical of any other IBS/Anxiety meditations available out there because they are free and helpful but this one made me feel like I was in control, it felt real to say to my gut, im sorry, come back! I will continue to use this as most of may flare ups do calm down, that is something I take great pleasure in knowing and for those who suffer similarly, must be your aim because you can return to normal!

    That's music to my ears! Yes ... we need medicine, we need doctors, but there is a place for us to use our minds to help us recover too. And the gut and mind are so tightly connected. Everyday, there is more research showing the connection between the mind and the gut microbiome. It's exciting! Especially when we it can help us to be more in control of our body and its symptoms.

    Yes, the stomach can get really sore when you get anxiety consistently. But it can be a catch 22 because anxiety causes muscle tension, but muscle tension can cause more stress. So, actively relaxing those stomach muscles can really help. Let me know how you get on.

    I’ve suffered from IBS since I was a child and after I had my gallbladder removed several years ago, it got about 1000 times worse. I weighed 73 pounds for five years until my husband had sudden onset Lewy body dementia and had to be institutionalized. I had to get up or I would never see him again, so I started eating. I’ve been doing OK, although on a bland diet, and was even able to bring him home for the last 2 1/2 years of his life with caregiver help. He passed away about 5 1/2 months ago and his loss has triggered IBS symptoms that are just awful. This meditation made me feel better! I’m going to listen to it at least once a day, if not twice. I have so much empathy for all the people who left comments because there’s just nothing worse than feeling so ill and not being able to eat. It’s very scary! Thank you so much for this meditation!     I was diagnosed with a panic disorder and PTSD when I was 9, over 10 years ago. I have intense stomach problems caused by stress and anxiety every single day. I also have severe emetophobia, so when my stomach hurts, I get anxious and when I'm anxious, my stomach hurts. A horrible cycle. Guided meditation has been the only thing that has kept the pain somewhat more comfortable. Thank you

    Yes, that is a seemingly never-ending cycle. But on an upbeat note, you can make a difference over time, and I'm really glad that using guided meditation is working for you somewhat. We all go through times that are more stressful, and it will be those times when the anxiety, PTSD and digestive issues will get worse. So it will be extra important for you to treat yourself gently and with love during those stressful times.

    Same here! I always had trouble with taking test at school. And now, I have trouble in meetings at work. I get rumbles in my stomach and sometimes they sound like I’m passing gas. Very embarrassing and highly stressful.

    Me rn I have such extreme stress rn about my stomach ache with me thinking it’s like an ulcer or a hernia. So the stress is tightening my stomach muscles so it’s making it worse 🥴

    Hi, you don’t know how much you’ve helped me. I remember one night when I was 12 I was alone and had the worst panic attack of my life and felt so sick and I remember this video. I have OCD and anxiety about throwing up and being sick with health anxiety. I always feel nauseous and I get panic attacks so much.     whenever my stomach tenses up, my whole body sort of starts jittering/jolting, almost as if my body is responding to the tension and it can get rlly uncomfortable and annoying. doctors have said it’s due to anxiety but i’m pretty sure it’s not because i haven’t been too anxious lately, although i have suffered from extreme anxiety in the past because it comes and goes. anyways i hope this helps!!

    Anxiety can give us some very real physical sensations, including shaking. Adding some meditation to your routine can’t do any harm, but if your tension continues it would good to get a second opinion from another doctor.

    Do you suffer from Gerd, do you get really bloated or inflammation in the stomach when upset? Also are you a very angry or nervous person? If so that is the core of your problem learning to calm the mind is what I'm learning also soothes the stomach it helps if you try to have a very happy life style as possible like doing things you love etc. Long walks and moments of quietness also helps. I struggle with it myself but give it a try let me know if it helps

    My anxiety has gone untreated so long i get anxiety trying to do this... It's so hard to do without crying and im not sure why. My stomach has been messed up so long 😣😞

    This is brilliant. Your advice is really helping me. I have driving anxiety. I have developed this recently as a van hit me slightly on the motorway last August with my son in the back and now I have no confidence but I am taking baby steps to get my way back on to the motorway.

    I'm so sorry to hear about your accident, it must have been a terrible shock, especially with your son in the back. . Even though an accident isn't necessary for a driving anxiety to develop it sounds like that has really knocked your confidence. I'm really impressed with you taking the baby steps to get back on the motorway. Slowly and steadily you can do this. Only at quiet times at first, then build up gradually. Wishing you much luck with it. And I'm glad you and your son are safe.

    You are definitely not alone. People often think anxiety and stress is all in the mind, but it causes very real physical symptoms. A lot of those sensations are in the digestive system. Hope you start to feel better soon

    Hi, this video actually solved my stomach issues. I suffer from health anxiety and recently had a blood test. (A massive big deal for me) The blood test results were absolutely fine but waiting for the results caused me to be running to the toilet and an upset tummy. Even after I had my results my tummy would not settle down, I started to get the unnatural hunger feeling etc. I have had these issues before and they usually drag on for weeks. After listening and following instructions from this video my stomach felt 90% better, following day I listened to the video a couple more times and I’m delighted to say my tummy is 100% back to normal. Thank you so much for this video.

    Just discovered this meditation and it helped me a lot! I often feel anxiety through my belly/stomach. This meditation helped me release the tension by half, thanks! And I will try to remember the words "it is safe to..." and add whatever makes the anxiety increase. Because when I heard you say those words during the meditation (it is safe), it had a big impact on how I felt and a lot of the tension instantly went away. Thank you!!!!!

    My stomach was quite bad when i was about to go to bed and i have been feeling nauseous since a few days ago, i thought it was from my antidepressant but i guess it's just my anxiety creeping up after quite a while.     @@beekey1322 hey there, i honestly still struggle with this to this day. but i somewhat know to recognise that it’s my anxiety, and try to take a moment to practice mindfulness of current thoughts/sensations, coupled with breathing exercises. it’s still a struggle, but altering my diet to remove foods that my stomach doesn’t tolerate well has also had a positive impact. i have too many physical symptoms to list 😅 frequent heart palpitations, jaw issues, dizziness etc. the list goes quite on... but first learning to recognise that they are anxiety symptoms has made a great difference (as i have health/illness anxiety, amongst other things)

    I think this one is actually my favorite one. I like that you took the time to focus on the different parts of the abdomen like the upper part (where I feel the most pain), the middle and the lower part independently and letting go of tension in each part. That exercise really helps me out a lot. I know I comment often, but until I can get my issues looked at by a doctor, these truly help with my pain. I'm not sure if it's IBS or gastritis I'm dealing with. I lost so much weight due to my condition in the past few months. I'm a 33 year old adult who is now 92 lbs because I throw up everything. I think it's time to schedule an appointment.

    Yes, definitely get yourself checked out by a doctor. You might not get a diagnosis straight away ... it might be a bit of a journey. But at the moment, the pain, upset stomach and weight loss is getting in the way of enjoying life. As much as I love you coming back to my videos I'd be happier knowing you're feeling healthy and well. It's time to make that appointment!

    i've been very stressed and anxious lately. i have health anxiety, i've had it most of my life, but it's been bad for about 4 years now. i feel anxiety in my stomach and abdomen area which is not good for my health anxiety or emetophobia, including that i also have IBS due to anxiety, i often get pains and uncomfortable feelings in my stomach area. i've been going through a pretty stressful few months and i think it just got the better of me this last week. before clicking on this meditation, my stomach was so tight i could barely breathe, but after listening to this 2 times over, i feel a lot calmer and my stomach feels like i have so much more space to breathe finally. thank you i'll come back to this video whenever i feel that tightness 💗

    I just wanted to thank you for this. I was feeling very nauseous from a combination of a new medication and anxiety. I didn’t know what to do and was certain I was going to be sick. I read an article that recommended meditation so I got in bed with a cold compress on my neck and listened to this. I feel so much better!
