Reduce uncomfortable stomach bloating with this meditation by a British Clinical Psychologist. This meditation for bloating will gently guide you into slowing down your breath and your thoughts to alleviate digestive discomfort.
This guided meditation is designed to help you relax and ease the discomfort of bloating.You’ll start by focusing on diaphragmatic breathing and then move on to visualizing a soothing light that will help you release any tension in your body. You’ll be guided to imagine the link between your gut and your brain and find out the secret to strengthening this connection.
Bloating can be a natural process of digestion, often caused by gas or constipation. But any new or prolonged bloating should be assessed by a medical doctor. It's good to be aware of your symptoms, but never try to self-diagnose.
Relaxation training is one method to help soothe the interplay between stress and gut health, often recommended to those with irritable bowel syndrome. Experts are not yet sure how the brain influences sensations in the gut. But in 2021, the American College of Gastroenterology recommended that gut-directed psychotherapies, such as gut-directed hypnotherapy, may be used to treat global IBS symptoms.
This meditation uses guided imagery for healing your gut. Guided imagery is a psychological technique used to relive stress and use the power of your mind to influence your gut and your overall health. In guided imagery, you use your imagination to think about things like objects, places, or things happening that make you feel relaxed or calm. But in this meditation, as in gut-directed hypnotherapy, you imagine your gut as calm and healthy.
This is especially for those of you that don't want to use hypnotherapy, but instead prefer to feel more in control. Complementary therapies are helpful in combination with and alongside whatever is recommended by your doctor, not as a replacement.

    I love all your videos . Your voice is one of very few that help me in all areas- panic- bloating- Tummy- talk down. I do appreciate all you do. I have not been able to find a therapist to help me in any of my issues for 2 years and you are my go to for crisis and panic / especially waking up in night sweets or terrors , that mess with my tummy.

    Your meditations are really powerful. The other day my lower back and thighs were so tight as I have made a massive shift and I knew this section was holding on so that meditation where you dump the pain, I did and it literally lifted, in fact afterwards I had to go and sleep I was so exhausted from the heaviness then relief!     Thank you, Clare, for your content. I have used your eye relaxation meditation several times since I found your site a couple of weeks ago. It is really good, although usually my eyes have involuntatily scrunched themselves up already before you get to that part. My eyes are always nice and relaxed and moist after having listened to you and it is only 10 minutes long!
