I don't think Andy sounds like Barry. It's done in the traditional Bee Gees style (I care much disco when Barry sang in the falsetto voice).

Andy was a copy of Barry. Was as extremely gorgeous like him, sang like him, had the same beautiful smile, witch they all had and the same gorgeous eyes like his brothers. He would have looked like Barry in every way if he didn’t passed away. Miss Andy, Mo and Robin so much. The world is a sadder place without them.

When he sings like Barry he uses vibrato. When he sings like Robin he uses tremolo, which is a fluctuation in volume rather than a fluctuation in pitch like with vibrato. I always thought the tremolo sounded unnatural, but it seemed to work well for them.

I can see why Andy and Barry were so close. They resembled each other in looks and in voice. 💕

While Robin and Maurice were paternal twins, Barry thought of Andy as his twin. Same face, same voice. (Though I do see Maurice's eyes, and hear some of his voice, in Andy.)

I know he got involved in some bad things as so many people do when they get that famous. But I still feel in my soul that he was a very special person with a very special soul. I don't know how it's possible to miss someone I never met. But I miss him. I love him and his brothers. The Bee gees will always be my favorite band.

When I watched this video, I wasn't prepared for another barry gibb. The looks and body movements and hairstyle, that whole person is like a clone of barry. He was so beautiful and gifted like his brothers I heard in an interview with barry him say maurice and robin were twins and he and andy were twins. I believe it! I'll always love those men as long as I live. Perfect men!

Yes, you are right Dorian. I listened again and I heard Robin as well. I loved robin's vocals best and wished he was used more on lead. He was the most emotive singer of the 4 brothers. I always felt on the verge of tears when Robin sang. He also had a sad look about him as well.

......this was an early recording ~ Andy was far too young when this was released (he is covering his bros song here) ~ he came along several years following his bros and their first balladeer career (before their later soul/disco career) ~ in addition: early on, their voices were mistaken for the harmony of the beatles: They All were blessed with increible musical ability ~ God bless !

He looks so much like Barry here, especially with his little bit of scruff and singing his brothers' song. This really shows his vocal range and emotion. I remember this performance. This is from 1981 and was a gala at Ford's Theatre. It was hosted by Jack Klugman and Victoria Principal. It featured Andy Gibb, David Copperfield, Lynda Carter, Johnny Cash and others that I can't remember. Then President Reagan and the First Lady attended as well as Vice President and Barbara Bush. A memorable program.

Unbelievable every time I hear him sing this live; still mesmerized by the way he makes a song burst with creativity. Also, the way he holds notes is beyond compare. What a tragedy he passed on so young, but we always have his music to play again and again.

I grew up crushing on Andy and the Bee gees. If you close your eyes he does sound like Barry. 2021 and still miss these Special guys. This music lives on forever 💜🇺🇸🇺🇸💜

@@nigelbeaumont1109 he died of an INFLAMMATION of the lining of the heart, caused by a VIRUS---myocarditis. His years of drug abuse didn't help, but it was NOT the direct cause of his death. I'm not excusing his use of drugs, but he grew up in a rarified environment, that he was too sensitive to handle. At the time of his death, he was under pressure to fulfill a writing contract, and he was just not able to produce. Have a heart and stop being so insensitive. You, too, could develop myocarditis, and never do a single illegal drug in your lifetime. Be more considerate of his family left behind.

What a voice! What a gift of God!

I was blown away by something on this. If you listen to the mono version of The Bee Gees song Words at the very end of the song listen what Barry added at the very very end the backing vocal. I never thought in a million years that Andy would remember to do that part and I'll be damned he did it even though it's very short just the fact that he remembered to do it. A brilliant performance.

Wow! This rendition from the youngest Gibb gives me goosebumps. Awesome. RIP Andy, gone way too soon.

Lana Rayphole he had three highly successful brothers. I think he felt insecure about ever living up to that. He was so much younger and did not believe he could do as well as them. Poor Andy. I think he felt somewhat alone because he had no siblings close in age. He was the kid to them.

He didn't do drugs because they broke up. They broke up BECAUSE he was on drugs. And their break-up was about 7 years prior to his death, which was a heart valve issue due to his long and hard drug use over the years. Such a sad and senseless loss.

Absolutely mesmerizing. Such a tragedy to lose this soul so young. 😢

I know 2 sisters who are twins separated by 8 years. They both look and sound alike when they talk or even singing with their middle sister. They would sing Bee Gees songs all the time.

I love Andy singing this song. He looks like his oldest brother Barry so much. Shame he passed so young.

Andy's vocal range was between Barry's and Maurice's. When he hits the lower notes, he sounds more like older brother Maurice. When he hits the higher notes one would think he's channeling his eldest brother Barry.

Beautiful rendition of 'words', Andy's voice is so much like Barry's, there is a difference but they are both great. We lost Andy way too soon. Thank you, Gibbgirl, for sharing with us.

Barry had said that Andy was HIS twin. Robin and Maurice had eachother, Barry had Andy. What a shame they couldn't be together longer. What beautiful music they could of added to their wonderful catalog.❤💐
