I have a half sister that has the same mental illness he did. She would take her meds, and feel better. Then she would stop taking them because she said that she was better. She would also say the meds made her feel like a zombie. She's still alive, but very hard to handle. I choose to love her from afar ♥️

Amish Cemeteries for the most part are private and far removed from "the English"( anyone who isn't Amish) roads and "English eyes". In Upstate New York they Amish we lived near didn't even use headstones and if the graves were marked at all it was by a simple wooden cross and nothing else. I have seen simple headstones for some Amish people in Southern Illinois but we stumbled across them quite by accident when we hit a deer and went looking for help in Amish country. I'm not sure who can have them and who can't and I imagine it depends on the elders of each sect. At any rate, it likely wouldnt have mattered if you could find them Amish graves is because they most likely aren't even marked by anything. Thanks for another great video, Harmin!

I read the book on this years ago. I felt so much sorrow for Katie and her kids. IIRC they originally took him to some person the community used for medical, who prescribed something useless. And on it rolled, until she was gone. RIP, Katie.

Found the medical person he was seeing. A chiropractor the Amish used. He was prescribing scalp massages and the drinking of molasses (seriously, wth?) and saw Edward just a few hours before he killed Katie. Edward had also received treatment from 'regular' medical but was not on any medication when he killed her. But, hey! that molasses, right?

I enjoyed this story. I read a book about this murder several years after it happened. It is a good book. The brother of Edward is the one who came to the house after the murder. He said he saw a demon step outside of Edward’s body then back into him. The brother was scared and ran out of the house as I recall. If you are a believer as I am, that is frightening.

Unfortunately the medications used to stabilize schizophrenia does give the “zombie” feeling which is why they unfortunately go off the medicine all the time. Interesting story. My favorite brother-in-law is from Pennsylvania. He's had plenty of interactions with the Amish people in the area he grew up in. They seem like a peaceful kind of people. @Erma Hamilton I live in Amish area and have worked in a dental office where we saw a lot of Amish. They aren't as innocent as you think. A lot of abuse of the young girls bt the brothers and fathers. The fathers rule with an iron fist. The wives have no say. A lot of SA going on. They also have puppy mills and are cruel to animals. There is a special institution for thr men to be rehabilitated and then are forgiven and brought back to the family. The young boys head to parties and stop for condoms on the way. Lot of inbreeding.

Because he killed himself, the murderer would be buried away from the other family members in the cemetery, usually in a corner somewhere and they usually put a fence around their grave to segregate them further. Suicide is a mortal sin in the Amish community.

Everything you want to do has to be authorized thru the head of the community. It's too bad that the drugs that are needed to help someone live a somewhat normal life make a person also feel so out of it. The pharmicutical company really have to work harder to make a drug that normalize feelings yet don't have the same side effects. Good job on this video.
