we live in a 50/50 Amish, English town not in Pennsylvania. they are wonderful neighbors and never bother anyone. we exchange work often and they always have a nice meal for me. heartbreaking.

I work with many Amish, I call many of them friend and would be more than willing to help them if asked.

So sad. We visit Amish country, in Lancaster county every summer. They’re nice, and mind their business. This is really sad.

The people in the community did see something out of the ordinary!!! They saw a red jeep driving up and down the road, and that same red jeep parked in the victims driveway, and nothing was done!!

I'm in Central Pennsylvania and used to have Amish neighbors growing up when i lived with my parents. They are some of the nicest people I ever met. We would let them use our phone to call in orders & would give them ice cream on hot summer days when they would walk past our house. They used to bring us their baked goods and made a whole boat cover for our boat for only $10. lol They were awesome neighbors, although not all people feel the same way. They definitely lived a different lifestyle but never judged us for the way we lived ours (Unless they judged us behind closed doors. haha)

We visit Amish country every summer. We have never had issues with them. They make delicious food & baked goods, they are always respectful, we’ve bought quilts from them. They do beautiful work. It’s very peaceful there. I couldn’t live their lifestyle but they mind their business. ❤

Sad... Were in Central WI. We have 100+ Amish within 3 miles from our farm. They sure have brought up the home value of our farms....

This isn't as shocking when you follow several ex amish members. There's a lot of bad things that happen and are covered up by the elders of the Amish church. You just don't hear about it because they keep everything quiet from the English (outside) world.

Murder rape and molestation is common in the Amish community. They do not like reporting it to the police or getting any government entity involved. This has been like this for decades and still keeps going on. Since they are religious groups, they have protection on stuff like this. The Amish aren't a cult, and don't run like one, but getting local authorities involved is a massive no no.

Thankfully some families have been changing and have been reporting crime, but this is not all of the Amish community as it's a "unworldly" Thing to do. There's a few former amish that have talked about this that are on KZread.

Many Amish travel the country and they have to report taxes and are not secretive about their life. Just the crime because they don't want their family shunt or looked bad at. Cults are secretive about everything and will not report anything to anyone.

I wonder if they'll DNA test the baby to see if the father is who he thinks he is, an if not, if the real one might be the killer.

Amish deaths were unpredictable. Many died from farming accidents and some were killed without anyone knowing it. Living in a rural setting can be just as dangerous as living in an urban setting.
