Alone Among the Taliban: My Undercover Journey through Afghanistan (War Documentary)

Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Eslamzadeh makes several journeys to Afghanistan in order to get permission to film the Taliban, something violently denied to most others. He witnesses shocking scenes and visits jails, Islamic State courts, meetings and council authorities all under the flimsy protection of his undercover status, as he tries to survive alone among the Taliban.
The Taliban's return has forced many to flee and again instigated widespread backlash from people who remain. Over time, the Taliban has developed ties to both an extreme form of the Deobandi movement and a hegemonic expression of Pashtun nationalism. This combination has helped to define the group's dogma and ideological characteristics while compromising its capacity to authentically represent the country's diverse ethnic and religious composition. The Taliban's strategy over the past 20 years - whether as militant opponent to the government of Afghanistan or as de-facto rulers - has been to forge alliances and enforce loyalties among local and regional groups, and non-state actors, based on these two essential ideologies.

So many years. So many decades. So many millennia. So many lives. And the only things that have gotten better, it seems, are the weapons. Do you think Allah is pleased? Also, I can’t help but wonder (esp. regarding that last question to the Taliban “leader”), how long it takes to learn how to answer a question with a long sentence but never actually….answering the question? That takes some talent and practice. I guess that’s why he’s the “leader”.

No there is not. Which people do you imagine will be "terminated" to allow the rest to live? Do you imagine it will be brown and black ppl removed or white?

@@Cloughjordan23It's nice to live in, but why are Palestine and Israel fighting? Aren’t we originally from the same race?
