Interesting ending, where the hit on the main Taliban leader symbolizes their demise in the region, and the twin prop helicopter symbolizing the arrival of the newest entity in control of the region. Understandably unbeknownst to the makers of this film, that the taliban would rule the region again, this time all the way north, and the acquisition of over $10 billion in US weapons....

And NOT just American weapons and equipment, it was not just the American 🇺🇸 military that lost a huge amount of money because of the rapid (and cowardly) abandonment of Afghanistan, the fact is that where America goes there will, almost always, be an allied military presence, and inevitably deaths amongst those allied to the USA, and because America 🇺🇸 led us into this conflict they should always lead the way out, but not in this case, the first everyone else knew was that the USA was making a rapid exit, and I doubt that there was any discussion about it at the highest levels of government, if there was then the retreat would NOT have been a complete shambles, a shambles that cost even more lives on both sides, military and civilian.

@allandavis8201 Wow yeah I never considered all of that. This is the "behind the scenes" stuff that gets buried. No one will really know the full extent of the ramifications due to knee jerk actions as large as this one was.

just watched Kandahar Break..watched Kandahar last summer..Both movies are good..Kandahar Break is more tragic and disturbing in my opinion..💿🎥🌄⛰🚙🏚🔪🔫👙🪨🚁

I dated an Afghan woman years ago in the US. She was as beautiful as the main character woman in this movie. But her parents were iffy about our relationship because I am white/Hispanic. That made the two of us iffy. Cultural differences, if they can't be worked out it's likely not worth the effort.

Excellent on the edge of your seat white knuckle thriller, and I know it's only a movie, but why didn't the main character grab the AK47 on the way out the door with his lady!!!? And as you can see, he paid heavily for that decision. Also, when the tribesmen were escorting the Englishmen to the border, I just don't understand why they didn't give him an AK so that he could help out, especially when they were attacked at nigh in front of the cave. I can’t see it anymore the movie which has saddened me😔 Because my mistake I pressed on “download” and then the message “it’s not available” has shown on screen. It was by accident pressing on it. Good production but couldn’t warm to the Lee character. I came out of the colonies, most of my life has been as an expat, have bumped into and bailed out a few ‘Lees’. I learnt very early on to leave the home country ways, and the ketchup, at the front door on the way to the airport. Make local friends and don’t rely on your government to get your arse out of the sling.

I knew it, this is not KANDAHAR. Ive been waiting for Gerard Butler to appear and instead I get this man with the head of a baby.

US governments misguided policy allowed the Pashtuns to have all the power in Afghanistan and let the northern alliance dissolve, which eventually led to the revival of the Taliban. Pashtuns are the same as Taliban, everyone with basic knowledge about Afghanistan knows that. If US installed the Northen Alliance in power, they would have rooted out the Talibans in the more than 10 years when US troops were there. They would have built a loyal and strong army from the Tajik, Uzbek and Hazaras. The Pashtun majority government and army didn’t want to fight the Talibans, that’s why they folded so easily without any resistance.

I have really tried hard to get into this film, unfortunately I can’t, the storyline is far to fantastical, there may well have been some foreign people getting involved with native people but not to the extent being portrayed in this film. Unfortunately the people of Afghanistan (and other countries in the region) have such barbaric and unfathomable laws that you would literally be taking your “life in your own hands” by even speaking to a member of the opposite gender, and probably the lives of their whole family, they don’t care about little things like truth or justice, they don’t care about feelings that can’t be ignored, and they certainly don’t care about western society and their democratic values and principles, they only care about subjugation of their own people, and would stop at NOTHING to impose their will and beliefs on anyone who dared disobey their “laws”. Sorry, just not a good film.

@@husseinahmed627 Try reading my comment again, I actually wrote “Barbaric LAWS” that is completely different to calling the people barbaric, but you seem to have read it in the context that you wanted to, if you don’t find public executions, mutilation of people by chopping off their hands etc for petty crimes, stoning women to death for adultery and not punishing the man involved, beheading individuals who have fallen foul of laws that they were completely unaware of because they are not readily apparent to visitors/tourists/aid workers, disturbing and unjust then you are barbaric, you don’t seem to think that their is anything wrong with those laws, and that is deeply disturbing.

In addition, your laws that allowed you, and still allows you, to use nuclear weapons on inoccent civilians and killing millions of people; bombing cities and killing mothers and kids; colonizing and enslaving poeple; raping women; testing medications on captives, and on and on; are more barbaric. Your laws that permit you to do all of that are indeed more barbaric and inhumane. Talk about your inhumane acts that you are doing around the world till now. Lastly, talk about your immoral existance: same sex marriage; incest; suicide; bestiality; out of wedlock kids; imbibing alcohol; using drugs; serial killers; and on and on. For God's sake dont talk about moral/immoral laws when you have no morals at all.

@@husseinahmed627 The Only evidence I have is that of my own eyes and ears, having spent time in the region and being told of the public executions and to avoid them, of witnessing a gentleman being attacked for breaking the fasting during Ramadan, and a young woman attacked by an individual for not having her arms covered leaving her face disfigured, and the attacker was a police officer, warnings from the management of the facility I worked in of the dangers of breaking the laws that I, and many others were unaware of. Of course social media has some very disturbing videos and posts about the events that have occurred, but that is the only evidence I have, sorry I don’t have anything in writing.
