LOL THis show is so dumbed down. Its literally written so really low iq people can have everything plotwise explained to them without having to make any inferences. I love people who watch simple shows with simplistic plots that go online and rave about how great it is. This show is for high school dropouts desperate to feel intelligent.

People need recognition to form a sense of self and interconnection, not fabricated validation from social media but real people they trust and respect.

There is no way through it. It always is and will be but you can cope like most people, or let it ruin your life like the way it has for mine. After a long time it hit me, Loneliness or alienation isn't the problem, it's you as a social creature that allows it to be one.

Just imagine how haunting, yet a relief it must be to hear: “I know everything about you, warts and all, yet that doesn’t matter because I see you and I need you”.

Holy shit, out of context I see how incredibly creepy Elliot comes off in this scene.

In retrospect looking back at this scene, I think the reason Krista initially lets Elliot go as a patient is she realizes in this scene that she's been incompetent and that he is a far better psychiatrist than she is.

@@rayzala1393 What "Clyde Frog" said, Krista realized she's been incompetent, but to be fair, a Therapist isn't someone who reads people's thoughts, one is supposed to be honest with it's therapist and then they can find a way to solve your problems, to feel better with yourself and your life, Elliot might be good at reading people, but he (and most of us) can't solve all our problems. Thath's why she never saw Mr. Robot as a threat (of course, before knowing about 5/9) and why she never hugged Elliot (as he doesn't like being touched) until ep 408

I absolutely LOVE the first scene where it is revealed that Elliot had hacked every one of his colleagues.

It's so relatable it physically hurts. There is no way out. The more you struggle the further down you sink, like quicksand. No one can save you from yourself.

This scene is absolutely perfect , I can't even say how many times I've watched it , i'm obsessed with it : The pacing , the dialogues , the cinematography , the acting and the fact all of those things come together as the culmination of a long setup of Eliott holding in his secret identity and his pain .... it's just brilliant. I think it might be the best scene in this masterpiece of a show and it's not even a hacking scene , it's just Rami Malek perfectly playing a deeply complex character's emotional breakthrough.

Don't care about the fact that this AWESOME show has finished. I will never stop watching it! This literally is the BEST TV show to ever be created, and I'm never letting it go. It's become apart of me over the years. Thank you, Sam Esmail!

Best tv show is an understatement, although it's good, it's nowhere close to Breaking Bad.

This show had everything to be classified as some thriller to being the very reality we choose to ignore while we live and breathe..

My favorite moment of this show has to be in Season 3, Elliott gets himself back in check and back on routine but even then, he can't escape the loneliness

Camera work is so good in last scene first on eliot like normal talking with her then it starts moving when he tell her truth, love it

That last scene is so simple, yet one of the most powerful scenes I've ever seen. I watch it all the time. At least 40 or 50 times now. And it has never once failed to not make me tear up.

Look at camera angles , it starts with her standing and Elliot sitting and after truth , it seems Elliot is up and camera is looking down on her , 👏

I had passed over this series when it was being broadcast. After watching a number of these clips I am regretting that decision. The quality of the work here is outstanding on a number of aspects. Kudos!

4:46 as someone who is on ativan, the fact that she isn't taking it regularly isn't necessarily a bad thing. benzos are generally prescribed to take “as needed” so whenever you feel like you're having a panic attack, which is always variable depending on what kind of week you're having. taking benzos regularly (meaning, more than once a week) builds up a tolerance, making it less effective over time. also taking benzos for longer than 4 weeks usually diminishes it's anxiolytic effects. krista could be tapering off her dose in order to feel better

I hope Sam Esmail and others come to read the comments about their show 🙏 they should really see the impact it had on many people.

2:14 Eliott actually saves the files of people by writing it in such a way that only he can understands. This similar tactic was used in history during 2nd World War (i guess). As each day goes by, it just gets more real.

Man, if i had a friend/boss like Gideon, I can even be ready to sacrifice everything just for his and the company's wellbeing. As they say, the good doesnt last long.

This scene got me hooked on this show. It became my favorite show ever. I connect with it because of loneliness and mental illness.

Gideon was a very very nice dude. I was thoroughly saddened when he was killed

I can see my reflection... the old me... I know how this feels. It's weird when you know everybody's secret and still you have to pretend like you don't know anything. That's exactly when true loneliness began and there's no escape from that. But I changed. thanks to the all of my knowledge and experience I earned from hacking life. :)

How?

I understand Elliot so much in the last part. Except I never hacked people. But I use to people watch until I understood the simple secret that we are nothing more than sum of our motivations. That all of our actions is in service to one goal or another. After a few years, I was able to use that to predict what people are gonna do and what they went though. While it is no where as invasive as Elliot's hacking, you harvest all that you can learn to feel ... close to someone ... anyone. And by the time you realize that it can't bring you closer to humanity, it is too late because it is all you know. The power to understand and see the things that few people care to grasp without a real reason to do anything with it. A cosmic waste and divine irony at it's peak.

Always felt so bad for Krista…Elliot could’ve been a friend but instead he was a creep :/ Don’t even get me started on poor Gideon. This show is such a rollercoaster haha

it was to make sure the data within is gone for good and cannot be recovered. Simply deleting it wouldn't have gotten rid of it

RAM is volatile so all data in memory is lost upon power loss. Also cold freeze recovery methods wouldn't work in this case. Perhaps he is being very pedantic which is what one would expect from a security engineer.

@@fhaf33z Its RAM, he pulls them from the ram slots, and if you even slow it down enough you will see that he doesn't even pull them out from the slots he just grabs 2 sticks from inside. I guess the IT guy for the show didn't trust him to be able to pull 2 sticks of ram seemlessly on camera so they just put 2 sticks suspended on the cables or something. As for the other part of the reasoning, "people" use ramdrives so that thing gets erased fast in case of "need", by just turning off the pc, i guess like stated above, he wanted to be extra sure nothing could be recovered even tho its unrecoverable anyway, most of the people watching it wont see it like that, they will just see it as a "hacker-y" thing to do anyway so its all for the camera i guess. :)

as I said, just a guess as I don’t know the date. It looks very similar to windows 95, but could be some distro. Although I don’t know any distro that looks similar to what he has and there are references to him liking gnome. So my gues is either windows or an old/ new very very heavily modified version of gnome.

Someone telling you what you did the morning before you got there and all your vices would be terrifying and uneasy. Which is why this was probably a top 5 scene in the show because she didn’t deserve that at all, and her reaction is chilling because how would you react to someone telling you things you literally dont want anyone to know but yourself? I felt bad for her until the show ended honestly

generally if the patient is a risk of harm to themselves or to others (usually related to physical safety more than anything) then they are obligated to report it. for nonviolent crimes like hacking it would probably be at their own discretion ie how much of a narc they want to be. a good psychiatrist, while being taken aback by the knowledge they were being hacked, would see that this is a cry for help and an attempt to connect in the only way they can. krista understood this

What do you do after you've finished with number 2 business? Do you wash your hands with water and hand wash liquid/soap or, simply use tissue to "wipe/clean" your hands ?? I'm guessing the first answer, right!?? But wait, didn't you just finish your business in the toilet, by wiping your @$$ with simply the use of tissue and it was suffice for you to pull up your pants and go on your day? But, because you know you probably touched some of your 💩💩 during wiping, you know, that merely the use of tissue to wipe your hands, is just unhygienic and you know just using tissue won't be enough.
