Very smart! So many people purchase a lock with a list of security features and replace their old ones and just rely on it like a vault. They never think the check the screws!

The cars nowadays are worth more than the contents in most houses. I also recommend those rfid (faraday) pouches for the fobs that start the newer pushbutton start cars. Thieves can read and clone the fob signals from the street if the fob isn’t shielded. Then they can steal the car whenever they have access to it.

Didn't know about high security strike plates. Those with long screws is a tiny investment in improving your home security.

Yep! Many people purchase a high security lock and install it with the old strike, leaving it open to kick-in attacks all the same!

If you install your own doorbell camera before you screw it in have someone hold it for you while you walk up to it while looking at the video feed through your phone screen. Also keep in mind some of those cameras are so lousy that if you're more than 10 ft from them you're not going to be able to make anything out and that's during the day.

True, but the camera's deter many people. If you have them high enough up it'll force them to try and hide their face more when looking around! The camera bells are similar to locks in the aspect that most thieves won't know which are high or low quality. Just the sight of a camera will make them think twice tho, sometimes that's all you need especially if you have good lighting, a clear view from the street and other Target Hardening factors in place! Even dummy cameras can deter a thief, but for your own records a real one can help for insurance and law enforcement purposes!
