    I've heard that whining sound before (BMW, 500nM Diesel) and it's always in conjunction with loss of gravy (which sucks when I'm sideways in 4th), most likely clutch slip! I know a wheelchair guy too, and it has never stopped him from accomplishing his car related dreams. He had a 450hp Ford YB Turbo in a Lotus 7'ish car, certifiably crazy in all the good ways. Fist bump to all wheelchair users out there! And that kid reacted like a champ, odds are he might have been in one or two tuned cars before!

    I think that you get a lot och fluid/oil in your catch can when you have a bung in the valve cover. swedes like to run the original breather box to a catch and a breather from where the block distributor goes to the catch can. When doing that you ventilate the crankcase and the gases dont have to find its way to the head to get out. i just drilled out a freeze plug that fits where the distrubutor sits and put a bulkhead an10 there with "o-ring washers" (welded the nut on that backside. then hammerd the assebly in.

    Your big problem with clutch is the volvo stock flywheel thats the whole problem it wear out and go deeper. so the pressure is less. and the surface is super super glace. if you have stage 6 clutch it will keep slipping if you don't resurface the flywheel and make it less deep where the pressure plate bolt on. use 20-50 or 10-60 diesel oil. fill it with extra one bottle.

    DUDE IT RIPS LIKE MINE! AWESOME!! Too much throw-out bearing tension on the pressure plate hopefully! Nice sends, Love how you calmed dude down from calling the boot knockers. What speed in mph do you go into fourth? I go in at 105 mph. Anyway, really cool man, I'm so excited for you, still the syclone turbo? The oil spray is because the camshaft is actually slinging oil into the hose from looking at the location of the bung on the valve cover. I would try to put the bung in a more "oil still" area. Ls swaps have this problem too because the factory crankcase evap location sucks on drivers side valve cover. I hope that helps you. I use the factory setup and it's good for what I need, with the exception being, the vacuum point is at the air screen of the turbo, in the horn. HEAd studs from aRP I think summit racing sells them.

  • @driftsnlifts

    @driftsnlifts

    2 жыл бұрын

    So 3rd gear tops out at 80mph apparently with this setup so its geared much shorter than yours. I am gonna look for a 3.31 rear diff to put in it and give it a bit longer legs. Itll probably be faster with more gearing and take advantage of the sweet torque curve. The bung on the valve cover i positioned it right above the cam cap so it wouldnt be in the direct line of oil spray from the lobe but im sure some is still getting in there. Im not to worried about it as the oil drains right back down to the pan atleast. Got some arps on order from yoshifab so we will see how long those take cause i know hes having supply issues.

    @@driftsnlifts Nice I roll with 3.73, I had 4.11 iirc. I think its a ford 3.73 now. Taller gear will help load the turbo harder too. Sometimes even spooling quicker. Good thinking on cam cap, however those sick acceleration g's you are pulling and swinging, are sloshing and Slinging all the oil everywhere, my guess. Everyone is having "issues" of some sort or another these days it seems, in reference to stocking and shipping. Like George Thorogood said "everyone is funny, I think you're funny too" But that was only after one bourbon one scotch and one beer! Love the show man, cant wait to see what you do next! Those ZF transmissions can spit out a lot of oil through the breather tube on top. I routed a hose to a little catch can up by the engine so as soon as you let go of the throttle it just drains back down. Mabye you won't have that problem but thought I would just give a heads up, I know others who has had the same issue too so.
