2021 SHERCO 300 SE - 60Hr REVIEW

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Life with my 2021 Sherco 300 SE Factory after 60 hours.
* Spoiler alert, it's GREAT.
There are some things that Sherco are working on to make them even better, but the bike is flat-out awesome.
Hope you enjoy the video.

    I've a 2019 300ser,just had the forks revalved and wow so much nicer,otherwise your review is spot on.only downside is everybody keeps stopping me and asking "what's it like"😁 also stock clutch plates started squealing at 50 hours but not slipping? So fitted Honda crf450 2019 friction plates,so far so good.

    Missed out on a '21 model Sherco 300 Factory and ended up going for another KTM. I'm preety keen to try one for my next bike in the new year. Torn between the 300 se factory and the 300 sef factory. Be nice to see some more footage mate... always good to watch 👍

    Ah, that's a bummer. Yes, all brands were hard to come by last year and Sherco grew even more popular, so made it harder for them to keep up supply during the Covid dramas last year. Should be back to business as usual this year with another complete production line added in. It is a tricky choice, the 300 SEF or SE.... would depend on what sort of riding you are into most. If it is more open and higher speeds the 4T is the choice, if you are looking for more difficult terrain, then the 2T shines with the extra torque. Both can do either job though 👌

    Cold weather riding just put a quick plug and boost to truck on starting. Plus lithium cannot charge under 5c or so. AGM a must on cold weather. Love the Sherco but starter/map switch will break. As mine did at 30hr. Servo power valve is a game changer on 2strokes. So amazing and solid linear power no power valve slap chain slap. 220watt stator is so sick. I'll add a 12v computer fan on left side for super hard enduro cooling. Will tape off my side panels to stop water hitting air filter or install baffles to keep it from getting smashed. SHERCO kept it simple for a bush bike. Minimal electronics for bush riding! I'm so happy my dad at 62 picked up this bike. We ride hard enduro together everyday and it extended his fun and pushed himself and buddies everyday.

    Thanks for your thoughts, however, I wanted to comment on the map switch. I'm still yet to break one after 3 bikes. That's over 260hrs 9f riding now. Most common is for the tip of map switch to get caught in your pants during a fall. The race guys trim the end of the switch lever off short. I just leave mine 8n Angry and ride it 🙂 Haven't done any seriously wet riding on mine to get the filter wet, but will keep the tape in mind. The lithium battery will charge once the bike starts and the engine is running, but getting it warm enough to start is an issue. It's not a good brand fitted to the bike. For Australia we use SSB or Anti Gravity and in the US Earth X are the go to litj to use. Not all lithium batteries are equal.

    @@Danger_mouse broke mine on a root slide out dab my knee hit the switch. Broken left side so I get a mode zero all way left that prevents starter from pushing in. Shane watts videos were great. Also in dry conditions putting furnace filter around bike air filter does so good at keeping filter clean. I notice a massive difference on soft VS angry mode. Soft mode I've yet to stall it and can climb with minimal clutching. Suspension is so good. I'm 150lbs so I need a bit of oil out of front fork for supple on ripples but took bark buster off and now just flags and love it. Great trails!

  • @Danger_mouse

    @Danger_mouse

    @@MitchOfCanada I run just the flags too, so much lighter to steer. I notice a big difference in the two maps as well. The only time I change the switch is in rocky creeks to calm the throttle. Everywhere else that sweet 300 just takes all you can dish out to it 🙂 Thanks for the messages, enjoy Life Between The Trees 👌

    I personally believe riders and some racers are switching to Sherco to get away from tpi as the tpi gets expensive and complicated as well. I think a great investment for a new Sherco would be a technology elevated smartcarb-2 .

  • @Danger_mouse

    @Danger_mouse

    Hi Luis, Unfortunately, I have not had much to do with the 310 model bikes, only the bigger 449s. What version is your bike? Is it a black top engine with Mikuni injection or a red top with Keihin? There are very few people who can connect to the Keihin injection system any longer, you will have a little more luck if it is the older Mikuni, i believe the connection system is called iBeat

  • @luisrivera161

    @luisrivera161

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@Danger_mouse I think you are reffering to the engine top end cap? It is black, i assume it is the Mikuni. The problem is that in my country no one has the cables nor the software iBeat, to diagnose test the bike, the TPS cant be adjusted manually?

  • @Danger_mouse

    @Danger_mouse

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@luisrivera161 Yes, the top engine cover colour. You may be able to find a way to use iBeat online doing a search. It is not a system that I have used myself. You should be able to to adjust the TPS, but you would need to read the voltage with the engine running, and also know what the correct value is. (it is different for various bikes and brands) You may find somebody makes an adaptor plug that connects to the TPS plug and gives you somewhere to measure the voltage. There is one available for the TE449 from TPSTOOL.COM that also fits KTMs with Keihin. They do 3 types, maybe one of those suits Mikuni 🤷‍♂️
