SHERCO 300 SE JETTING

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Some tips for jetting the stock carb on the Sherco 300 SE.
While we do ride faster tracks, my jetting set-up for the bike
is focussed on good clean running at the bottom & mid-range areas.
The spark plug has never fouled & I am able to get as much as 100+km from the fuel tank.

Thanks for sharing your tuning. I have tried a lot of different set ups and I’m always back to N8RG #2 38 pilot a/s 1 1/2. Colder fall or spring weather here in BC I’m running N8RF # 2 or 3 40 pilot. Love the 40 pilot so much bottom grunt but makes a bit of a mess. 🤪

Thank you for the carb settings! I have a 2022 Sherco 300 SE that I ride in similar altitudes (800'-3,000') in Spain. The bike was very rich and often stalled in slow rocky sections. This created lots of opportunities to lose balance and fall over. I changed to these newer settings and the bike did not stall once during our 3-hour single track ride. First time in 14-months of riding! Thanks again.

Thanks for the examples. I found that in a 2017 300 that N8RG #2 38 pilot 170 main and a/s 1 3/4 worked really well except was a bit unstable mid throttle. Now have a mystery needle recommended to try to see if it is any improvement.

I tried a bunch of different things and what works the best so far is the jd jetting recommendation but with 1 step richer needle jet setting .

@@nivero5038 I tested the NECW back to back on the same track with the N8RG needle I run now. They were pretty much lineball with each other when the N8RG was set on clip one.

Are you riding at like 500' to 1500' ish? I ride at 2500' to 6000' and looking to use your numbers as a baseline to judge where I should go leaner wise. I'm thinking NR8F #1, 162 main & 35 pilot but that will depend on your answer. By the way this is on a 23' 300 Factory.

Hey mate. I'm between about 800 & 3000ft. Runs well in that area. My advice is to download the 2017 jetting table and use that as your starting point, tune it from there. The later version of the table is terribly rich.

Mine is setup the same from Toowoomba. 22 300 racing. I got 4 hours on it so far and I’m finding after cruising around slow for a bit it or it cools slightly when off it stutters a bit when I twist it on and want the band… they’ve told me the same setup with the f needle but the f needle is in my bag of spares… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Try fitting the F needle and drop it down to clip one. You may need to tweek the air screw a little to find the right spot for it, but that should improve the light throttle stuttering. The rest of the range will be as before 👍

Hey mate. I’ve got me self a 23 now also.. they are wanting to jet what I’d imagine is blubbery off the bottom. N8re 3rd clip with 40/165 pilot main. Would you suggest just copy yours at n8rf clip 3 38/168 combo? I do the same type of riding as you, and live in the same area basically? Any help be great as I want it great first go. Cheers Chris

Hi Chris, I'm even leaner than that. Sunny Coast Qld and never higher than 750m. N8RG - I'm on clip one 38P 170M Float is at 8mm to help stop flooding on steep decents. The standard jet chart is rubbish. The old 2017 chart from the owners manual is much closer to correct 👍 You can download them for free from the Sherco website in Documents

@@Danger_mouse thanks mate. He’s allready telling me it’s too lean. Probably never ridden enduro or these bikes in the way that we ride them so I was kinda expecting that. I’d imagine they set them fuely and safe as houses I guess.. I’ll tell them to set the float like that also mate! Sounds good.. your sounds pretty crisp in vids and from what you are saying your pretty happy with it. I’m comming off tpi so I want to get this thing mint…

This has absolutely nothing to do with a Sherco Wondering if you have a favorite tested the stater and rectifier on the TE 511

  • @Danger_mouse

    @Danger_mouse

    Жыл бұрын

I don't have a video on the test, no sorry. There is a stator test using a multi meter in the owners manual. You can test the resistance readings between all 3 of the yellow stator wires, and then the voltage of the individual wires with the engine running (I don't recall the values without looking then up) If those tests are OK, then you test the charging value at the battery with the engine running. It should be more than 13.5v at idle and at least 14 at half revs. If not, check the wiring and/or replace the rectifier. * Definitely remove the stator cover and replace the 6 stator screws in the flywheel as per my other video with bolt store screws (not Husqvarna screws) - Torque value is 15Nm. * The original screws WILL fail and damage the stator.
