I have a 2021 Beta 125rr and I put in an NECJ on the 3rd clip with stock jets. it’s an entirely different bike. I put on the 4th clip and it was a harder hitting feel where you’re forced to always be charging forward, closer to the stock needle but still smoother power delivery. On the 3rd clip the bike is almost tame, but you can unleash the beast when you need it, just aren’t forced to only ride in beast mode. It’s also fun to mess with the power valve

The rocky bit gave you a workout! The Beta pulls like a diesel tractor, it seems.

My buddy is running the NECJ in his 22. He digs it. It’s all relative I suppose. Some people like it rich (like Rich Larson)

Semi off topic question for you since you seem to have owned a xtrainer and a 300rr. I am currently riding a xtrainer and considering moving to a 300rr. Do you still own the xt and if so do you still prefer it over the 300rr for any type of riding? Thanks in advance

I do not have the XT anymore. I like the 300rr much more, but I think having the xt gave me the “tools” necessary to really take advantage of the RR. Hopefully that makes sense.

You think the 160 main is good at high elevation ? I use a 158 and it's working great too.

Great video! I just picked up my 2021 300RR, stoked to ride! Jetting is at the top of the list. I noticed in one of your videos the drive up the pass on 24, are you in C Spgs?

I want to try out a Suzuki needle in my 21 rr300.What needle and jetting should I start with for 800 to 1500 elevation at 75 degrees.Guessing the J would be to lean for that altitude.

I’ve run the necj at 1000ft and dug it. 38pilot 165 main.

Can you explain how you know which jets to use (with the NEJC needle)? They were different than the jets you were using with the JD kit. Maybe just experience, but maybe you have a different way to select other than trial and error. Thx.

I ride at around 8000 ft in The summer in NM mountains. In the winter, I ride around Tucson Az in high desert at 2500 to 5000 ft elevation. I never feel I have my Beta quite dialed in. I error a bit on the rich side like you do. Haven't tried JD or the NEJC needle. I basically go by the Beta Table in the owners manual. Its not bad, just doesn't seem as clean as your setup.

what is the slider you are using? nr.7? also it is Keihin 36mm or 38mm?

Hey Shayne. I liked it, but it was still lacking when it came to challenging terrain. It was so fun on the faster stuff though. If we had more open fast singletrack out here I’d have kept it. Sadly, it’s 90% rocky nightmare. Lol

Fwiw I just put mine to the test with stock set up, I got about 45 miles of mountain riding before reserve

When you went from the red needle to the necj needle, what criteria/testing did you do to determine goung to a 160 main jet? The reason im asking is that I have a 23 X Trainer that is still giving me a wet plug and so so gas mileage with a 148 main and 38 pilot per the recommendation from the dealer in Colorado Springs. Im riding at 6000-12000 ft. I have a red needle from my 200 rr that JD said i can use in the X Trainer. Thanks!

Angle the bike by about 20 degrees , if you have fuel coming out overflow set your float up , my 250 did this from get go, set float to 7mm mine was out from factory. You might be trying to jet for incorrect float height, just my 2 bobs
