BETA RR300 vs KTM EXC300 TPI

In this video I will share my experience comparing these two motorcycles. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, for each rider one is easier to drive, depending on the terrain you drive on and your driving style. As for the engine, the beta is the winner, I have to say that right away to make it clear. The brakes on both dirtbikes are very good and equal.
As for the suspension, on the KTM EXC300 TPI the front forks work better where there are a lot of rocks when riding fast. The forks on the beta rr300 are very good, but for slower riding. I'm talking about ZF forks, it's different with kyb. But the rear shock absorber is better on the BETA RR, now whether it is due to the linkage or the shock, I wouldn't be able to tell.

    I wouldn't say that one is better than the other. That's why he does beta standard and races. One is more comfortable for slow technical terrain, the other is for racing. I think this is the big advantage of BETA... you can choose.

    TPI (GasGas 2021): a) normal/weak fuel map (cabel switch under fuel tank) + orig. yellow spring power valve (2mm turn in - orig. settings is 2,5 mm) = weak bottom engine (but not so much like white S3 head) and engine top "medium" strong. b) performence fuel map + S3 low compresion head + green spring power valve (1,5-2mm turn in) = weak bottom engine and engine top powerful :-)

    I agree with the clutch on Beta bikes - they have a weird fading and I have experienced it on 250, 300 and 200 bikes. Since I have 200cc version I have not found decent clutch disc replacements by other brands. All I know it the same clutch as the 125cc version. I have not been able to try 2023 beta versions where they have a DDS clutch design.

    In my opinion, you quickly realize that the quality of the KTM parts are better. This makes repairs and maintenance of the bike easier than on the beta. You notice it especially on the plastics and the screws. I like the system of the tank- and oilcap! Someone has put some thought into it and some other solutions. But the engine of the Beta is certainly the "nicer one to drive" in direct comparison to the KTM. As far as I know, the beta clutch mentioned above has already been revised so that it is even easier to operate. I don't think the plastic rear frame isn´t the best solution. What is still a big point for us (Germany) is the resale value. The KTM sells much better than the Beta.. Ultimately, I would let the price decide. That was also the reason why I decided on a (red) KTM, i.e. a GasGas EC300. But it could just as well have been the Beta. I think you adapt the respective bike and learn to live with the disadvantages and advantages. Cheers mate!

    I have to disagree! The quality of the plastics is better with the beta..KTM plastics you break sooner. For example you can break off the rear fender with the whole seat. It won't happen on beta.

    @@texlee1640 That's my opinion..I rode a BETA RR 250 for 2 years hard enduro. I have never managed to break the plastic. Now I have a KTM and on the first ride I broke off the entire rear fender, side covers and seat.. It is not about the plastics themselves and the method of attachment! On a KTM, you can break off the entire fender even with the seat, never on a Beta.

    @@stefankollar8966 On the KTM composite subframe models it's certainly true you can break them clear off, but that's not the case on the XC-W's. Now the XC-W line will get a composite subframe next year ('24MY) but they are said to be much improved over the previous generation, but only time will tell. Beta makes a very nice bike, in some ways it is better than the KTM/Husky but they aren't known for good hardware, plastics, or wiring, this is widely known by most. Like I said, you are an outlier in that regard and that's awesome for you. All of that said, I will have a Beta 200 in the stable in the next few years, I love that bike.

    Hi, I just wanted to ask ypu something about the beta. I've seen you also owned a sherco 2 stroke. Which difference did you find out between the beta and the sherco in terms of power and torque?

  • @TheDirtbikeRider

    @TheDirtbikeRider

    Жыл бұрын

    my sherco was 250 and beta 300. Sherco has electric powervalve so its really smooth and it feels like electric bike, but the bike was sometimes weird because you dont feel any hit in power. Also it had good power but was not really that natural feel, its something like ktm tpi where you cant really feel engine in 100% . Beta is having best engine for enduro, you can feel it and what it does. And in same time its very strong, linear and easy to control. In my experience the beta engine is giving more grip, so in hard stuff beta is maybe 20% more easy to control when we talk about engine, but sherco is better with chassis and turning also with the brakes. So in the end if you look good engine the beta is way to go, if you need durable clutch then ktm is way to goo. And if you need bike for extreme which turns really fast then sherco is best bike selection

    To give details, I've discovered that beta rr300 bike's rear shock provides a smoother and more comfortable ride, especially over rough terrain. It also appears to handle impacts and changes in terrain much better than the front suspension, which can be strange at some times. Overall, I'm very pleased with the rear shock's performance and would strongly recommend beta it to others. In aspects of the front ZF forks, I have to say that I am not entirely satisfied with their performance.They provide some suspension and shock absorption, but they don't appear to handle rough terrain or impacts as well as the rear shock.They could, in my opinion be modified, benefit from some changes to improve their performance and provide a smoother, more comfortable ride. I'm not sure what those modifications would be, but it's something to think about if you want to improve the overall performance of the bike. I suggest you to see ORVS ZF KIT by ktech

    Did the revalving, to fit my weight (it is really cheap where I live, like 100 euros for front forks and back shock), made wonders. Surely one of the best suspensions there is. Of course, the guy who did it, does multiple hundreds of KYB suspensions every year, so he know what he is doing. Before that I had KTM with WP, and YZ250 with KYB. I should say that I always prefer KYB over WP. It is just easier to ride and it makes you trust motorcycle more :)
