This is a Stella review full of context and facts, well done sir, I have purchased the 28 and love my bow
VXR 28 is unbelievable. Went in to buy the 31.5 and left with the 28”! It’s unbelievable and holds on target better than any long ATA bow I’ve ever shot.

Your reviews Rock...very well done.
Glad to see someone do a speed test with a 27" draw. I'm looking to go test shoot the vxr. Think it's time to update from my creed
Hello...just want to know what brand of stabilizer you had on that setup. Thank you! Good video... keep up the good work👍
Nice review man.. that is my next bow
Thanks for the review! Oh how I’d love to see a late release VXR 34.5! 🤞

Hoping and wishing for the same thing, ATA 2020!
Shot both the 31 and the 28 the other day. Also shot the Hoyt rx4 as well. Was really impressed with the draw cycle on the Mathews vxr’s both were very smooth, really easy to draw back. The Hoyt was nice as well. But draw seemed smoother on the Mathew. In my opinion. This is also coming from a guy who’s owned a Hoyt for the last 7 years

In your opinion is it worth it to still go ahead and get the VXR 28 now or wait until the new release comes out in a few months? Getting a new bow once we all open back up and was just wondering what you though. Thanks. Love your videos. Most informative I have ever found. Down to earth and real life info.
Can you do a review on the vxr 28 on a shorter draw length like 26 on 70lbs and 75lbs. I wanna see the fps difference
Kind of sounds like 450-455 gr arrow would definitely be in the sweet spot for fixed heads for a 27" draw. Thanks for your reviews
Went for a 31.5 left with the 28... this bow is 🔥🔥
Thanks for the review. Some people need to shut up about the VXR trying to be a vertix or triax. Apparently it's not. The stability on the new riser is way better balance then the vertix and the triax. A better draw cycle due to the limb being in a different spot from the vertix and the triax.
i shoot the no cam still and idont plan on getting any new bow but thanks for the review
I just went and shot both bows 31.5 and 28 inch VXR and I have a 28.5 inch draw and I preferred shooting the 28 VXR... I was in the market for a new bow so I put an order in for one.
I shot at 29.5in draw and 65lbs draw weight on my Hoyt I just purchased the 28in vxr and I don't feel any difference in a short bow to a longer bow .. I guess with the bigger Cam's the string angle feels the same but that's only how i shot and my Anker point
Great review as always. Look like you were struggling a little bit being a leftie pulling back a right hand now. Lol
do you prefer the 31.5 or the 28 i’m saving money to buy one for next year but i can’t decide
im a lefty too!! love the new mathews.....but i think i might have to get the triax bc 1000 is alot of money lol
I’m a 27” draw and it’s refreshing to see someone review a bow at that draw length, how would you say this bow compares to the Bowtech revolt?

Mathews vxr 28 for me im 28.5 inch draw but i shot this, vxr 31.5 i shot the 28 the best felt better!
I'm a 27in DL. Did you measure the actual poundage at 70lbs (27in DL)? The draw cycle looked stiff! I was thinking I'd go 65lb module and maybe it would actually be at about 68?
Great reviews , I have 2 question and don't know of another way yo reach out besides youtube. First are your still planing the release videos on tuning bows for purchase. And now the second question , I just replaced my string on my Mathew Triax with ABB strings and I am trying to get the right configuration for the yoke tuning . The yoke are vary close to the came and I have tried everything , changing tops hat out to move it closer to the cable rollers so the outside yoke it not that close to the came . Well it have been a challenge. Once I get it perfect I will document it and share it. I love everything about Mathews but this has been a challenge. I would greatly appreciate any guidance that could be given. thanks again

You need to push the cam towards the direction of the tear. So if you're tearing tail right, start by putting the larger top h ok t on the left side of the top cam. If it's still right, do the same for the bottom
Glad to see someone else struggling a bit pulling it back at 70lbs. Just got mine today so had to pull it quite a bit for the tuning it was a bit of a chore. Hopefully it will get a bit easier with time. Wonder how much speed it will lose dropping the weight down to 60.

I know you're doing a review on this phone I just have a quick question. Just getting into archery been a gun Hunter all my life. Just bought a PSE stinger extreme thinking about pairing it up with a spot Hogg fast Eddie two dot any thoughts should I or should I not or do you have a better recommendation

It's a great sight! The trick is going to be getting it sighted in, as you have to be able to shoot back to 60 yards to calibrate the sight tape. If you get one I'd recommend just shooting at 20-30 yards for a while until your shot becomes more consistent, then put on the calibration tape and shoot it at 60
I have the 28 and the 31.5, I tried both, I'm going to sell the 28 and keep the 31.5, feels way more stable in my hand and got more accurate shots with it, I'm 5.9" with 28" draw.
So I'm looking at this bow and am curious. I have a 26" draw length and draw weight at 70 lbs. Would the 28 or the 31.5 work better with my draw length or would it not make a difference?
@InsideOutPrecision
3 жыл бұрын
The 31.5 only goes down to 26.5", so the 28 would be better cuz it will fit you
I have the triax and im not comfortable shootimg past 40 with it like i was with my halon. You mentioned that about the triax in this video. Do you think the vxr 28 holds considerable better than triax or not that much?
@InsideOutPrecision

If you want a better hold you need to bump up to the 31.5
My shoulder was cringing watching you draw that bow. Do you normally shoot 70#? Great video.

I'm left handed, and I'm shooting a right handed bow in this video.
The cams on that bow (and my triax) are so big the string angle seems to be not as bad as a similar size bow with smaller cams. I feel like it’s close to a 30” bow

I’m in a dilemma, I shoot a 25 inch dL tx5. I wonder if its worth upgrade to 25.5 inch draw length vxr.

If the draw length doesn't fit you then it's not a good match. If you can shoot 25.5 comfortably though, I'd consider it

Would you put Ghost XV strings on this or keep the stock Matthews strings on?
@InsideOutPrecision

The stock strings are worth shooting.
I was watching an ATA video of a Mathews guy talking about how he has a 30 inch draw and he uses the 28. He said he’s used to ducking so it doesn’t bother him because of how big the cams are.but he is sponsored by them so he has to say good stuff so is it really bad for say a 28 1/2 or 29? By the way what kind of rest is that?

Would I gain anything from to going to the Vertix to the vxr 28
@InsideOutPrecision

The short answer is no.
Gotta wonder if we will ever see 400fps. Constant increase is stability and speed.
Tried VXR 28 today and thought it was great. Going to try the 31.5 when it arrives in my local shop. My question is my draw length is 28” so I am right at the max based on your comment in regards to ATA vs draw length, so will the 28 be a more efficient bow then the 31.5? Thanks from Ontario Canada, enjoy your videos.
@InsideOutPrecision
4 жыл бұрын
Well no the vrx 28 and 31.5 have the same cam so they're gonna shoot the same speeds no matter what the draw length is. The efficiency thing only applies to bows like hoyts that have two different cam sizes and rotating modules

Good question I'm 28 inch draw too and I'm wondering if I should go with the 28 because I hear a lot of people saying that its better for short draw length shooters but I'm wanting a Bow for hunting and 3d so I'm wondering if i should go with the longer VXR 31.5 or the shorter VXR 28 ...decisions decisions lol😂

Sorry I was not clear with my question. What I am trying to determine is if my draw length match’s the ATA of the VXR 28 even though I am not at the max draw length of the bow should I still go to the VXR 31.5 based on the premise I should shoot a bow with a longer ATA then my draw length?

Sucker looks like it has a pretty stiff draw.
The reason they increased the length of the riser was to help with string angle a lil bit.
@InsideOutPrecision
4 жыл бұрын
Well, axle to axle is the only thing that effects string angle. The longer riser just makes it a more stable aiming platform.
Never shot a bow, surely it would be an overkill to get this bow with 60lbs. What do you think? And dropping lbs even more would only working with a bow press? Am I right?
@mrmeierrr
4 жыл бұрын
You don't need a bow press to change the weight. 60lb is 60 max. It can be fine tuned by loosening the top and bottom limb bolts equally with an Allen wrench. 60 will go down to at least 50; 70 to 60... This is true for most all compound bows not just new ones.
@Shiwwy
4 жыл бұрын
@@mrmeierrr thanks for your answer mate, but im a bit more confused regarding the VXR now, sorry 😅 The VXR has these 5lbs up\down mods... so I thought If im getting the 60lb VXR I could go up to 65 or 70lb with the specific mods.(I can go down which I get bc you explained it very good).Wheres the thinking errors? 🤔 The difference between a 60lb VXR to an 70lb isnt just the mod? Edit: i think i have it now, If a have a 70lb VXR I can go down to 60lb with just the mods, and even more if Im using a Allen wrench on the limbs!?
@mrmeierrr
4 жыл бұрын
@@Shiwwy yup it can be adjusted with the switch weight mods as well. The SW mods are a newer thing, before that you only had the limb bolt adjustment. With these new Mathews you can use either. However supposedly bows perform best at their peak weight with limb bolts all the way tight. So technically a 60lb max would be more efficient at 60 than a 70 turned down to 60. So in theory the correct SW mod is a better system for changing draw weight. Does it matter for an average guy? IDK. Hopefully that makes sense. Probably confusing for a newbie, I'm new to this too and get confused sometimes with all the new stuff.
@mrmeierrr
4 жыл бұрын
@@Shiwwy I think part of the reason they went with the switch weight system is that one bow can fit a variety of people with a simple mod change. Whereas other bows without SW to go from a 60lb max to 65 or a 70 lb max. You would need a bow press to change out the limbs on the bow.
