Love how honest you are Sean in all your videos and reviews. Shot this last week. Totally agree this bow is amazing, smooth draw is an understatement. This bow draws back incredible. Think I’m picking one up tomorrow

Had my first bow for quite a while now and now stepping up after this review to a significantly better bow than my current PSE Stinger. I love Matthews bows and I personally like to give my bow string a little push when releasing it for me it makes me feel more in control of the bow.

I just purchased a Halon 7 on Saturday December 12th from the "Pro shop I call home"here In Western Massachusetts great Bow! I went in with my mind set on the triax I tried it,I also tried the traverse, vertix and the vxr 28 and 31.I left with the halon 7 it felt the most natural. Just before Thanksgiving this year ,I lost a very close Father figure,a bestfriend who was my Teacher,My Mentor, My advice when It came to years of experience and wisdom.Second my hand grasped it I felt a superstitious current come through the bow and into my hand (Hard to explain) But to simplify,...the bow has the Old soul vibe to it so I know it suits me beyond physical feel.Plus American made?? Also Matt's last name "McPherson"...Its a Irish last name,I feel comfortable dropping money down for a brethren with ancestry from the old Country.

I really like your review, i would like to add another bow to my collection, maybe a Vertix or Vxr, but my APA M5 is hard to beat because of my 27.5 DL. with the 350 grains and 70 lbs i got 345 fps , i have the same Prochrono . Elite is also on my list but my proshop took them out of there shelves , not sure what happened but if i want to try Elite it’s gonna be a 4 hrs drive . Thanks again for your time .

Thanks for the review! I think the verse in this video can also relate to my favorite verse, 1 Cor. 10:31 - "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." If we are in relationship with the Lord and seeking to bring Him glory in all that we do (even hunting) then it will not be in vain.

Recently bought the VXR, been shooting Elite for many years so I'm used to the deep valley. Struggling to get used to the "jumpiness" does anyone have any suggestions on how to possibly adjust it or ways to get myself adjusted to the shallow valley, thanks for the great video's and thanks for any and all opinions.

Maybe ease up on the draw as you approach full draw so you come to the back wall slower and softer. Then focus on the rest of the shot process

It came in a half inch long so you may want to order one a half inch short if you want it to measure exact.

I think it feels pretty much like it. If i was going to hunt with a Mathews this year I would have bought this bow but with the longer ATA. This bow gives the draw length i need but with a little more speed than the Traverse.

That string angle is kinda crazy

Vxr you can change the draw weight with the mods. Thus enables you to get peak performance even if shooting at 65 pounds... Vxr also has some features for carrying and hoisting the bow.

I like how well the rack looks on you towards the end of your video. Lol

I like them both so I'd say shoot them and see what you like. I like the way the mathews tune with swapping out high hats when you need to shim the cam for perfect arrow flight so I might give mathews the edge for that reason.

I haven't tried one of those but I've tried other APA bows and they seem pretty good. I like that you can press the bow in the field.

So it shot 336 and was 1/2 inch long on the draw length. So its actually a 331IBO bow???

That's probably a fair estimation.

God has shown me Psalm 127 in practice when I thought I could achieve the buck of my desires by simply increasing my hunting time radically, hunting twice as much as ever before, but I hunted in vain that season and only saw one smaller size trophy buck without even getting a shot at it; I labored in vain. But when I trusted in the lord I got my biggest bow buck ever, actually two of them, tagging out early in the season, and not only did God make it perfectly clear to me it was a gift (the first one giving me a waking vision of it before it happened), he also got good laugh out of it at my expense with the biggest one as well. It's a long story so I won't get into it here, but trust in the Lord and he will provide.
