Good job ChevyDad. I have a 2014 just like that, bought it from a friend with only 100 miles on it, it was rattly and too much vibration. I had the dealer do a full service and that helped because there were things that needed to be replaced and tightened. I'm gonna check this out. My dilemma now is I had the dealer put power steering on it and the handle bars are crooked, I don't wanna do the 2.5 hour round trip to the dealer to adjust that, gotta figure it out, might be an easy fix.

Just put some pipe insulation around it. But thank you for troubleshooting - I didn't know what the noise was!

Mine had a similar problem. Bending the heat shield only gets rid of the rattling noise, you might want to try adjusting the bracket that holds the shifter to the frame, that helped me. I think it was just a hair out of alignment with the linkage on the transmission side. It's still a little stiff but it did help. Other then that I guess time will tell mine only has 300 miles on it so maybe it just needs to break in a little more. I hope this helps

Gonna check this out on my 2021 570, started rattling after 2800 kms, everything seems fine but I never looked at the linkage.

Heat tape wrap around that also would have got that ticking to stop.

do you find the bike is easier to switch gears now? I'm always having a hard time finding gears on my 2015, i'm guessing its because its rubbing. I have to give it so much force to move the shifter when it does move I accidentally go past the gear i want. Im going to try bending the heatshield a bit and hopefully it makes shifting smoother. the bike only has like 120 km on it too so it could just be stiff since its still fairly new

Eric M , did that work? i have a hell of a time shifting. its not all the time but sometimes i have to tap the trottle to move it then shift, sometimes i think im in low and it pops in high and grinds

Try making sure the shift linkage is lined up properly it might me binding up.

ChevyDad496 I find that spraying WD 40 on all the linkage points from the shifter to the transmission helps tremendously, these points tend to get clogged with mud and debris .

I doubt there is enough pressure against anything holding it to keep from shifting. The stiffness could be mud and dry spots but not the rattling part. Try both...i notice shifting is a tad tighter when first warming up.

Short term yes long term I don't know I didn't leave mine alone so I don't know what it could do long term

I had a different issue. The air intake tube was rattling against the plastic by the gas tank

I had this same issue, ended up wrapping foam around the top of the intake with electrical tape. Will have to find a more permanent fix.

Same, I used a rectangular piece of chair pad and stuck it to the gas tank fixed it immediately. Now the fuel line hose that goes to the injector is rattling. I Don't know how I'm going to solve that one. :/

I just cut 1/2 inch off at the end of air intake, it was just too long!

april7 got my 2019 last month and had to cut a half inch off the air intake myself, it’s also got this rattle mentioned in the video I’ve got to fix, you’d think in 8years they’d have fixed the stupid little issues.

My problem was a rattlesnake near the fuel cell

my 2020 has a rattle but it also has a maintenance symbol on the screen so i dont know whats wrong.

bush woo I have the 2014 570 sportsman and usually when the maintenance symbol comes up it’s because it most likely needs an oil change

Unless the 20 is different than a 19'.. what is a maintaince symbol? All i could get is a engine light and then check code. If you see a wrench... that's just saying your mileage (whoever set it) ran out. Doesn't have any diagnostic info to it. Only the CEL does

mikey T the 2020 has a whole screen that you can go through like a mini ipad and when i go over the engine part it has a wrench and an hour glass

Bought a brand new sportsman cash, driveline clunks dealership said they don't know what I'm complaining about that they couldn't hear it. Ain't that america.
