How I fixed my ATV. Had a hard shifting issue that ultimately was some corrosion on the shift shaft. A pretty simple fix.

Enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for a steady camera position during each point and also for a good light source. Great quality work.

I'm on my 3rd polaris now and I've always hated how notchy and stiff the shifters are. Never been an issue but this sportsman I just bout only has about 90hrs on it and I just feel like a machine with such little use should shift easier. Thanks for sharing. Will be trying this as soon as I go through the carb to clear up my fuel leak.

How do you rotate the shaft to adjust for the detent? I can think of a couple ways but I don't want to force it. I also found a hole in the casing below where the shift shaft seats. Gonna say it's not stock...

My return valve on top of the engine. Forgive me, the pcv?, threw the 2 bolts and scared the hell out of me on the trail. I also just discovered the chain drag problem with the transmission drain bolts on the 2007 x2. Holy hell its a lot quieter. It sounded like spark knock it was so loud!

Mine did the exact same thing as yours. Thanks for the video. Another note. My gears didn't have any lube on them either. I gave them a good dose of lithium grease before putting them back in. It shifts so smoothly now.

You should have used a high temp grease
