2014 Lincoln MKZ EcoBoost AWD Test Drive Video Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

www.autobytel.com/lincoln/mkz/... The Lincoln MKZ with the EcoBoost engine and AWD system allows this car to have a dual personality: it can be incredibly fun to drive on one hand and a soft smooth cruiser when you want it to be. Base price on the 2014 Lincoln MKZ is $35,190.
The standard engine is a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque. There is also a 3.7 V-6 engine available. Fuel economy for the EcoBoost and FWD car is 22 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.
Most automakers have to pick either a sporty luxury sedan or a nice plush luxury car. Lincoln killed 2 birds with one stone with the EcoBoost MKZ.

I just purchased the 2016 Eco Boost AWD MKZ and truthfully I freaking love it! My wife and I were debating between this car and the 2015 Cadillac ATS and decided to go with the MKZ and we definitely don’t regret it.

The image of luxury is all subjective. Nothing about this interior is basic. If anything it is very very classy. Lincoln is one of the few car manufacturers that has a very unique interior design. I will say Tesla, the MKZ and MKC interiors are clutter free and very elegant in my opinion. They both did something extremely different, dramatic yet just as simplex.

I've had this car since new. It has everything but the massaging seats and not all wheel drive. I love everything about it. My favorite feature is the adaptive cruise control. The touch screen is very user friendly once you are familiar with it. I actually like that my passenger can't mess with the controls because they don't understand how it works.

  • @mmora4187

Have owned the car for over a year. 3.7L, AWD, panoramic roof, the works. The gripes about the interior touch-surface are misleading. Unless you suffer of Parkinson disease, or have some form of arthritis, the controls are VERY responsive, and work fine. The V6 is smooth and refined when you want it to be, and growly and revvy when you hammer it down. "Sport" mode does indeed hold the gears longer, and make for more spirited driving, which when coupled with the AWD emulates an Audi-like experience. The seats' leather is supple and whether sitting up front or in the back, very comfortable. Love the panoramic roof, that was the biggest seller to me. Look evil, stealthy, and not another German cliche`. The 4-banger Eco-boost torque numbers are VERY respectable, but I love the rev-happy V6. Cheers.

+M Mora I bought a 2016 in June with 3.7L, AWD, but did not spring for the panoramic roof. I did test drive the 4 cylinder and it was fine, but it was all I could do to keep an evil grin from spreading across my face when I drove the 3.7L. I agree about the touch controls although it took a little getting used to. Sometimes my passenger will have trouble adjusting the climate or the seat heater/cooler. My only complaints are that the seat cooling doesn't cool off the seat back very well and the mobile app complains that the car needs an oil change every time I shut off the car (it did this even when the car had less than 200 miles on it).

I just recently got a Lincoln MKZ with this ecoboost, and this motor is definitely not a dud! If you put the pedal down it will chirp the tires in drive, and in Sport it will really light them up and it pulls all the way until redline! shifts are pretty quick, I love the paddle shifters, and with every shift a little extra surge of power hits and it keeps climbing!! not to mention on the highway I can easily get 35 MPG and around town I am averaging 26 with my foot in it quite a bit! I love My Lincoln Touch, and the touch sensitive "buttons"!! they all work great, and every surface I touch is either covered with leather or a nice soft touch padded material, everyone who rides in my car complements the luxurious environment!

king Messiah Still running like a charm! I have had no issues with it. It really is like a comfy driver, or it's almost a sports sedan in S mode! I'm only 20, but this is my first car bought all on my own, and I couldn't be happier! All of my friends love my car, and my mom and dad both think it's very nice as well! I will probably never get another car unless it's perhaps a new MKZ if I ever decide to get a new one. But as for right now I wouldn't even dream of trading it in! 👌

Dwayne Gooden I actually decided to part ways with the car two weeks ago. I previously had a Mustang, and so I went back to the Stang. I now have an Ecoboost Premium Mustang. When I traded my MKZ in, I was averaging around 26 MPG but I worked in the city so it was always start and stop. The highway could still net me around 35 MPG! It was a great car, but I just missed the two door! These Ecoboost motors are awesome!

I test drove two FWD versions of the 2015 MKZ and then finally an AWD equivalent...wow what a difference. The AWD driving dynamics blow away the FWD. If you can afford the upgrade to AWD go for it, it's well worth it IMHO. Living in a cold weather climate with snow like I do and it further enhances that capability, it is actually fun to drive in snow with this car. The Sport mode makes a big difference, I agree with the review...it turns this luxury vehicle into a sports sedan. You can get all the benefits Chris mentions that come on the Reserve trim level with the less expensive Select package with the '19 inch wheel upgrade, which many do have.

just like the MKZ is based on the Fusion, the MKS is based on the Taurus. Except, the Taurus SHO is too spartan, too black inside (only color for interior), and too unrefined. The MKS looks wicked, goes like stink with the EcoBoost V6, and has an amazing interior. In a test-drive, the only annoying thing was the proximity of the "paddles" to the turn-signals and wipers bars. But it is too big for me, hence why I chose the MKZ.

I rented one and I would not buy one. The engine is nice and refined. It has a bunch of power and it feels nice to handle, but the interior is pathetic. It is all fake silver painted plastic. Also, not having knobs made the car feel lest tactile and the places that you actually touch (like the gimmicky gearbox buttons) feel like cheap plastic. I would like it to have a knob or buttons for the volume of the radio in other place than the steering wheel. I also don't like the hole in between the center console and the floor. What is suppose to be there?????

This car is great in every way , but be warned mine has 35000 miles on it I needed a truck so, I go to trade it in because of only a need for a truck ,life changing thing , how ever I'm being told the car is only worth 16500 and they won't budge from that no matter what you do to it! I was told by both ford and Chevy that it's not worth the 20,826 that the nada says it's worth, so I'm stuck with it for now. just beware of your trade in situations, if they occur, this is a heads up, and if anyone wants to dispute this I can post proof this something ford nor Lincoln is telling at the time of purchase, thank you

To the cameraman: you should film the road, not the gentleman's belly...It is like Doug Demuro who films his face while driving: we want to see the car, not the reviewer's face, butt or belly!

The interior looks and sounds bad. I would say it's decent for the price but not good for a "luxury" car. I really like the exterior actually. Surprised because it's a Lincoln.
