My RPM needle sits like what your showing and works just sits facing @5 o’clock position and when moving moves to the left, also not sure if the fuel gauge is accurate but everything else seems to be working fine

What did you use to test the power and if the mileage meter worked?

Really Good instructions on how to repair those buggers😱😱 Is it common for 4 gauges to go out at the same time . What pod number do I need for an o7 GT with 4 gauges? Thanks

I’m having a very hard time getting the motors off the board, I bought a soldering iron. But they just won’t come out

My spedometer gauge works intermittently…sometimes will get stuck at 140 or past 140 all the time and other times it will work perfectly fine. Is this the stepper motors and do i have to repair them? Or can I just clean them or something since they still work sometimes

Can you get the odometer display to show the mileage when you power it up?

Re: digital distance to empty once had to backtrack for highway closure, drove 65 km. with a 3000 ft. climb on 0 km to empty, made it with 2/3 gallon to spare. Just make sure you go slow. Semis passing me on the climb but I made it.

Hi, I have a 2006 mustang gt and the coolant gauge never comes off of cold - it doesn’t move at all. I think the battery voltage might be stuck as well somewhere between low and high. Is there a way to activate a gauge sweep to test if the stepper motors are broken? I found some instructions online about holding the trip reset while turning the car ignition on but this doesn’t seem to work in the 2005-2009 clusters.

It's been months since one of these came across my bench but if I remember correctly they don't do HEC or self test. I know the 2010+ do HEC and the trucks all do self test.

@@FixedUntilBroken If I take the instrument panel out, is there a way to confirm which stepper motors are bad? I'm considering trying to fix it myself but would like confirmation that it's the stepper motor and not the CHT sensor that is bad. Also just curious - what would you charge to fix a broken instrument panel?

These stepper motors are internally the same as the GM trucks and stuff but they are bottom loading instead of top loading. So just like the trucks they get stuck or really course when they go bad.

Most cars are still good for 30 miles when the gas gauge reaches E but not those Mustangs. Ran out of gas in 2 different rentals.
