Videos 1&2 are perfect. Easy to complete task. Key is removing solder. I found using radio shack 64-2060 iron with sucker worked flawless. Many thanks. Great informative videos.

Wow! Way easier than I thought. I did it in no time! Screw paying $60+ for a "new" cluster. Buy the motors on eBay for under $10 and do it yourself. Thanks guys!

Where did you pick the guage clusters up from? I need one for my fuel gauge and volt meter. When fixing those do I need to take the needles off all six gauges?

hey bro i just purchased a 2005 gt and I notice that my gauges where off and i called the guy that i got it from and he said that the cluster was new so i thought well it must be cause all of the gauges work but are off a little. so i tried your method to calibrate it but every time i set the needles to 0 when i start the car the needles jump below 0 and it knocks them off . am i doing something wrong ? thanks

my needles are all in the wrong places, if I put the speedo/rpm to 0 and rpm to around .5 to 1 they work 100% correct, is there any way I can just reset the needles, or what should I do? all of my guages are incorrect but I'd like to try and just reset needles to 0 and let them go to proper places as in the video before replacing the whole thing

I have a customers car ‘05 mustang fuel gauge is pointing straight to the left at a 90 degree. About a half inch BELOW empty. I replaced sending unit..same problem. Is it the stepper motor? When you start car you can see gas needle pulsing like it’s trying to move but can’t

thanks for the vid. very helpful. after soldering my temp guage in, it seems as though i have over soldered and crossed a track. the guage registers, but when turned off it keeps turning cw rather than falling. any ideas how to narrow this down? can't seem to find a circuit diagram.

Does this same process work for a 2013 Mustang Cluster? All gauges read properly except for the Coolant Gauge. It reads below zero with the ignition off. After the car is warmed up, the gauge does rise to about 1/4 of the way, which is accurate from 1/4 below zero to 1/4 above zero when it's warmed up (coolant should sit half-way). The motor is not the issue, the cluster was removed previously from another car, and I am thinking it was knocked when it was shipped to me. Should I use this same method as you? Keeping the cluster plugged in and adjusting the needle as needed?

***** Hi yeah i had the same problem as him its like the gauges would just stick and then read from where they got stuck. like my rpm gauge would read way past the rev range but thats because at idle it was at 5k. So i recalibrated and it seems to be working ok. i will probably go in and try to see what would be making them stick and maybe grease it up this weekend. who knows but if the problem reoccurs then they will be replaced like your other video.

To my knowledge they all use the same motor. If you think you are experiencing the same issues as I had then replacing the motor might work. (NOTE) You should make sure it is the motor and not a sensor or fuse that is bad before getting into the cluster.

  • @digitalsoulz

Did you replaced the motor or just took everything apart and put it back together again? If you did put a new motor in and the needle is going the opposite way then might be a bad motor, or some how the polarity could be reversed casing the motor to go in the opposite direction, or worse case is that something could be shorting out when it was replaced. Another thing to think about before replacing any motors is to check fuses and sensors first. Unfortunately working with electronics anything could and will go wrong.

when I was trying to take it apart and put a bag I was missing behind the temperature sensor and one of the gear little gear fell down and I was trying to put everything together I put everything back together and then the temperature Gage not working good but I'm sure I did put everything right .
