    Thanks, I really like the truck, looks real mean. I'm trying to get an 85 longbed to restore. I'll lift it and eventually put a 550HP 454 in it. I'd probably have a set of dune tires on some spare rims too, I could drive it there, switch tires and when I'm ready to leave, switch them back and drive back to Kansas. LOL

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder13 жыл бұрын

    @53zman That would be fine, I had this same setup with 2.5in when I had a mild 350 and that sounded great too. It's the configuration as much as the pipe size. To get this sound you can't have mufflers half way down. Supertrapps on the very back only.

  • @supercarbuilder

    @NickLTR I think they are 48". They work ok for what we do in the dunes. I just have a cheap CD though.

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder13 жыл бұрын

    @NickLTR It was because of the angles. and probably bad u joints. You have to check the angle of the axle with the shims on the leaf springs and the transfercase if you have a spacer in the crossmember or not, and then the lenth of your driveshaft will determin the angle of the shaft itself.

  • @supercarbuilder

    ive got an 85' silverado k10 1/2 ton with a 400 small block in it, and a 4inch cowl induction hood, you should get one of those :) and pushbar with auxillery lights on the front, i wanna do alot of similar work on mine as yours is, but its not in bad shape now, got a 3 inch suspension lift, and i think 3 inch body lift, and 35inch tires around 17inch american racing rims, i want to put a 454 or 527 in it.... thatd be beast

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder13 жыл бұрын

    @NickLTR They usually don't have as much of an issue because the center differential is up a lot higher than a low pinion straight axle. Sometimes the drive shafts are even higher in the front on a stock truck so a 4-6in lift will put them lower but not too far.

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder12 жыл бұрын

    8in lift in the front, 9.5in in the back. the tires are 39.5x18xr16.5, and yes it has a turbo 400 that I built.

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder12 жыл бұрын

    @1pluce About half are mine, I build for mostly friends and they get sold around as well. I think i'm up to 10-12 rigs or so.

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder12 жыл бұрын

    Original was 1/2 ton, I upgraded to 3/4 ton with 14 bolt rear, and dana 44 front from the donor truck. Then I started breaking the dana 44 and upgraded to a dana 60 full floater.

    @turboking78 Sweet man, Thanks!

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder12 жыл бұрын

    @ROCPALMER The cam is 325 duration and 520 lift, that works great in the big block. As for tires as I get older the smaller the better, it takes so much torque to turn them that I could use more power than I already have. I wouldn't go bigger, probably smaller.

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder13 жыл бұрын

    @turboking78 It's 8in lift with 1.5in added to the back to make it 9.5in. the tires are 39.5inx18x16.5r superswamper tsl boggers. I don't think I have pics up anymore, used to be on photo bucket

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder13 жыл бұрын

    @garrettizbeast I bought 8in lift springs and shocks, then ordered/fabed crossover steering, and made 1.5in blocks for the rear to get rid of the ass sag most lifts give. Bought brake lines and made longer driveshafts.

  • @supercarbuilder
    @supercarbuilder10 жыл бұрын

    It's a k10 but with 3/4 ton equipment. And yes it's a big block. 454ci with 450hp and 525tq
