Truck looks great and sounds good
sound cool, I haven't changed the leaf springs, it does ride rough but the big tire soak up alot too.
Badass!!! I'm working hard on getting mine looking like this one day soon just in black
SICK!!!!
Nice truck!
Thanks, I really like the truck, looks real mean. I'm trying to get an 85 longbed to restore. I'll lift it and eventually put a 550HP 454 in it. I'd probably have a set of dune tires on some spare rims too, I could drive it there, switch tires and when I'm ready to leave, switch them back and drive back to Kansas. LOL
Dude awesome truck I love it
That is pretty sick
awesome truck. i'd love to rebuild a car like this over here in germany, too
Bad ass, Good build!!!!

I LOVE THIS TRUCK SOOOOOO MUCH
like the truck!!!!!!!! Sounds good!!!!
Nice truck looks like mine with out the blue
sounds soo good
one bad ass truck!!
@32bitcal The 454 is a 1991. It has 11:1 compression and a big cam and a high rise intake. Your truck sounds great! Similar to this one in hardware it sounds like, good luck!
thats badass :)
@supercarbuilder Wow well you build some very nice rigs good job!
My friends has almost the exact same truck (Different tires and smaller motor), same color, bars in the back, lights and everything.
You should look at my 85 K10 6.2, I'm fixing to do a subtle rebuild on the motor and put a stick in it and some stacks hopefully. Nice truck man!
thats bad ass bro i wanna do that to my truck
@53zman That would be fine, I had this same setup with 2.5in when I had a mild 350 and that sounded great too. It's the configuration as much as the pipe size. To get this sound you can't have mufflers half way down. Supertrapps on the very back only.
Everyone talking smack, is only wishing they had a father/son project like this
Wow kick ass truck I'm not a fan of Chevy's but that looks pretty good
@NickLTR Oh yeah! I used to break a shaft every weekend! :) Now I just make sure my angles are right and I use all high angle stuff from Tom Woods Drive-line, and haven't broke one since.
Music sucks but truck is awesome good job
Nice truck
@53zman 3in true duels. With supertrapp mufflers on the back with out caps.
@NickLTR I think they are 48". They work ok for what we do in the dunes. I just have a cheap CD though.
@NickLTR It was because of the angles. and probably bad u joints. You have to check the angle of the axle with the shims on the leaf springs and the transfercase if you have a spacer in the crossmember or not, and then the lenth of your driveshaft will determin the angle of the shaft itself.
@NickLTR nice, I have one single black whip on my built zj 5.9 you can see it in some of my other videos.
Thanks! It's at Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Mears MI.
Dream truck
My brother in law has an 86 with a small lift and 33's...350 bored .30 over edelbrock 650 torquer series..whole motor has been rebuilt but lookin ta put a set of 36's under it with about another 150 HP and torque to go with it..will have some videos of how it sets SOON!!!
My buddies' 74 GMC 1/2 ton kept breaking axles so we dropped in a 14-bolt with a disc brake conversion. No more breakage lol..
Thanks man
silver lake sand dunes hell yeah!
Nice, figured it would be heavier than most with the 454.
My friend "dislikes" chevy's, but when i showed him this he wanted one right away!
ive got an 85' silverado k10 1/2 ton with a 400 small block in it, and a 4inch cowl induction hood, you should get one of those :) and pushbar with auxillery lights on the front, i wanna do alot of similar work on mine as yours is, but its not in bad shape now, got a 3 inch suspension lift, and i think 3 inch body lift, and 35inch tires around 17inch american racing rims, i want to put a 454 or 527 in it.... thatd be beast
nice truck
@NickLTR They usually don't have as much of an issue because the center differential is up a lot higher than a low pinion straight axle. Sometimes the drive shafts are even higher in the front on a stock truck so a 4-6in lift will put them lower but not too far.
8in lift in the front, 9.5in in the back. the tires are 39.5x18xr16.5, and yes it has a turbo 400 that I built.
@1pluce About half are mine, I build for mostly friends and they get sold around as well. I think i'm up to 10-12 rigs or so.
Original was 1/2 ton, I upgraded to 3/4 ton with 14 bolt rear, and dana 44 front from the donor truck. Then I started breaking the dana 44 and upgraded to a dana 60 full floater.
@turboking78 Sweet man, Thanks!
@ROCPALMER The cam is 325 duration and 520 lift, that works great in the big block. As for tires as I get older the smaller the better, it takes so much torque to turn them that I could use more power than I already have. I wouldn't go bigger, probably smaller.
@turboking78 It's 8in lift with 1.5in added to the back to make it 9.5in. the tires are 39.5inx18x16.5r superswamper tsl boggers. I don't think I have pics up anymore, used to be on photo bucket
@garrettizbeast I bought 8in lift springs and shocks, then ordered/fabed crossover steering, and made 1.5in blocks for the rear to get rid of the ass sag most lifts give. Bought brake lines and made longer driveshafts.
It's a k10 but with 3/4 ton equipment. And yes it's a big block. 454ci with 450hp and 525tq
trucks can swim?!?!?!? I want to buy a truck now and do this! Just kidding. I have a stock 97 K1500. soon to get a lift. Gorgeous truck bud
358, its a 350 bored out, i dont remeber the bore size, but its just a small block with solid lifters made for stock cars and roller rockers
@MrStryperfan 2-3 in the dunes, 5-6 on the street. This is Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Mears MI.
@thetrojanman23 Yes, it works great with this set up.
have you ever thought of putting a "blower" on the car? or a snorkel? i'd like to see that, it would look AWESOME!
im gunna join your guys conversation here and i have a 98 silverado 1500 hd. but me and my boss have been working on it for a while now and it sounds like i should hook up with you guys and go duning around. i have a lingenfeltzer tvs1900 supercharger along with other mods and i have around 850 hp in it with some offroad capabilities you wont believe and with your two trucks were looking at one bad ass video.
true dual 3in all the way back with open supertrapps on the back.
where did you get the fender flairs
awesome truck!! and I asked this same question on the Blazer video, What swap could I do for a GMC jimmy 4 door '85??
@supercarbuilder Thanks man! It did awesome i took it wheeling and it goes everywhere should have a few pics up soon! Quick question do you build these for people or are all these trucks yours?
Nice truck. I like the SM465, they're a lot better than the th400s i think.
@dorevolution Thanks, the engine was a 350 bored over, cammed, intake. and I'm not sure of the tire cost, they were the ones I bought it with before I upgraded to the bigger ones.
@MegaCountryboy92 I don't remember the code but its a 1978 Dark Bright Blue Metallic. I believe it's a GM factory color.
@derbydude074 Hard to say, It's been through about 3 transformations, probably 10k total.
truck is sexy. i just have a 73 3/4 ton 4x4 with a six inch lift and 33's its got a 355 in it havnt finished it yet though
