nice truck...my dads god an 82 chevy with a 10 inch, lift hooker headers, thumper cam, 40 inch boggers, dana 60's front and rear lebanon locker in the front, 350 with forged crank and rods edolbrock 4 barrel carb and nos. the 12th motor we had in it runs like a champ pushin 450 horses

yea! they used to put it in older trucks because most were used as farm trucks to haul livestock and farm equip. i think it is pretty much like having your turck now days in Lo but it is in two in wheel drive. then when you lock it in 4-lo and put it in granny gear it is super low gears, lots of torque but you wont be getting anywhere fast

@fischsnopro Actually that's kinda for me, but I found an 84 Silverado around where I live for about 2500. She's got new U-joints and shocks. New starter, alternator, and radiator. New cloth bench seat and aftermarket sound system with CD player. It's a regular cab short box, dual tanks, 4 spd manual, 4x4, Big ol' Chevy 350, and dual piped. She's got a lot of body rust though, lol.

the old trucks like that really only have a three speed with a low gear that is lower than 1st.. thats what we call a granny gear around here

Its got a 350, its a 4 spd manual, 4x4, Short box regular cab. New alternator, starter and radiator. And an aftermarket sound system with CD player. Basically its my dream truck.

and the reason i hate on manuals is because a lot of the time when you trying to bog threw some thick shit and you want to shift up a gear, but by the time you get that clutch shoved in and put it in the next gear you have already lost most of your momentom so there for you get bogged down and have go back to the gear you were just in, but a automatic you just put it to floor and hold on to your ass
