I live in Alaska and had a 16’ bay runner with a 55hp Evinrude earlier this summer and it was a pile when I got it but I fixed it up nice and sold it. I wanted to tell you, the absolute best thing you can polish Aluminium with are called SOS pads. You can find them at most grocery and hardware stores. All it is is a steel wool pad with soap and you may think it will scratch but it won’t it leaves the aluminum so clean you can see your reflection. If you want to take it a step farther than that, go to the Kenworth truck shop and get Royal Purple. That’s what you polish semis with and it will leave that aluminum so shiny you’ll blind the other guys on the lake! Other than that, great video I’m a new sub.
Looks good!
Love the intro!
Great video
When you screwed the rod holder in what keep the screws from poking out. Great job on build by the way

We actually used some small pop rivets so there would be no exposed screws or nuts/bolt heads.

@@MissionForFishing gotcha. Thanks
How much did the boat sell for?
How did the deck hold up without framing other than the hatch?

It held up perfectly fine, it didn't sag or bow at all.
How well does that paint hold up on aluminum?

It hasn't been on this specific boat too long but its been on my 12 footer for about a year and a half and its been holding up very well. It has faded a little bit but nothing a touch up didn't fix. As long as the paint is not exposed to gas or any other harmful chemical its pretty tough and resistant to scratches and dings.
Still using this build? What would you do differently after using this design?

I actually sold this rig about two years ago since it really didn’t do anything too different compared to my 12 footer except take up more space. Since I only had the boat for a year I really didn’t get to test any additions for longevity since everything was basically brand new and in great condition. The one thing I probably would have done different is used truck bed liner coating on the trailer since it seems to be more durable and resistant to scratches and nicks from gravel. Other than that, the boat itself was big enough to add some more decking and storage so I probably would have gone that route. I couldn’t even begin to think about not having a graph or foot controlled trolling motor so those would be must haves.
How much do you want for it you think

If I can get the outboard running as good as I think It can, I’ll probably start it out somewhere near two grand or lower.
