It took us 11 months to bring this 1988 Ranger 363v back to life. We have hundreds of man hours into this project along with THOUSANDS of dollars in parts to fully and completely restore this boat. The original purpose of this project was for us to learn. What it turned into was a lot more than that. It taught us the importance of family and friends, as well as the support you can receive when you put out quality work.
Lastly, this series goes to show that ANYONE can restore an old boat. With the power of the internet and KZread you can learn how to do everything from wiring to detailing. So get off the computer and get to work!
Be sure to check out: mealeymarine.com/ to get all your marine needs.

Man, I like your attitude and attention to detail! Form, fit, & function, all hallmarks of a job well done. I especially liked the use of the Rhino label system, which I think wire was invented for. The heatshrink labels are durable, easy to read, and don't peel. Keep getting it done like that!

That’s the most complete restoration I’ve seen on KZread. Including the trailer. That’s the only time I’ve seen anyone do the trailer. Lots of hard work into a beautiful restoration.

I worked at a ranger dealer for a few years. Loved working on these old rangers. I believe this model had a wood transom before they went to fiberglass. My mentor always told me to put the bottom motor bolts with the nut on the inside to keep water from running up the threads.

@@garlingoins2988 some say it was a myth but that’s the way I was taught to install them. Theory makes since and I didn’t question his experience over what little I had at the time. That old man taught me a ton about boats.

Wow! That was an amazing job! I've got an old Cajun bass boat that I want to restore like this. All the new boats on the market are great looking, but I just love the way older bass boats looked. Growing up on Lake Fork in the 80's & 90's, I saw so many of them every time a tournament rolled in & those older boats are still what I like.

Watched the whole rebuild from day one. You did an amazing job and I really appreciate you documenting it for us. The color is the only thing wrong with this boat lol well, the sun bleached color. I have a 96 basscat Sabre that needs just about everything you did, done to it as well lol the bad thing about owning a old boat is you inherit all the bad things that people did with it along the way.
