With all due respect, as you guys do a superb job at rewiring boats, but are you actually factory trained technicians or just self taught?

That engine has an enrichen valve on it for the choking system, clicking the choke button opens it and gravity feeds fuel into the crankcase for extra fuel. The valve is on the port side of engine near the top carb, brass in color and has a manual button to bypass the electric portion. Spun flywheel is a possibility can always hook up a timing light and point it inside the carbs to see if its injecting fuel at the correct time. Starting procedure on that engine is pretty simple, advance throttle, turn key to on position, press and hold choke and count to 10, then crank for proper easy starting. Hope this helps ya find it.

Gravity feed fuel into the crankcase? I sure hope not, that would be disastrous for the oil.

@@MealeyMarine I would remove the main fuel line at the carb and prime the the bulb and see if there is a blockage, if there isn't one then I would check the floats in the carb and see if they are set to low. Edit, when you hold your hand to the top carb to take away air, is there gas on your hand after cranking?

When you replace the switch box, take a look at the trigger, stator, regulator, and rectifier. I replaced my entire ignition system to eventually find it was a bad switch box.

Also, if you are seeing metal shavings under the flywheel, most likely your stator or trigger is cooked. With the symptoms I’m hearing, I’m willing to bet it is the trigger.

support the motor and open up the bleeder screw. Cap should come off. If it doesn't then put some heat to it! Great video!

I have an Optimax 225xl that throttles from 580rpm to 1180 rpms. I changed everything from cables to the tps. Nobody has ever had this problem. I need help

Excellent. I just bought an old girl, 1989 and its in GREAT condition, BUT this is very helpful to get her to perfection little by little. Good inspiration. These old boats are built like tanks, there is zero reason why they cant still compete.
