I spent 47 days in a woman’s jail which was nothing compared to prison, but it was enough to know that I NEVER wanted to go back. If you haven’t spent time incarcerated at some facility, it’s so hard to understand how depressing and what a crazy world it is. It is its own world.

I was incarcerated in the Kentucky DOC from 2001 until 2012 and ....knock on wood...I've been out ever since. I ran across this channel and video while browsing on KZread. This is 100% spot on. Larry, I can tell you're a good solid convict and it's a damn good thing you're doing here. There are many people who need to know this stuff. You have gained a subscriber and a fellow con. ☮️✌️ Your success story following your criminal background is an inspiration to convicts far and wide.

Larry, I get what you’re saying here. I have been a nurse for many, many (350 I think) years and spent about 7+ of them in corrections. I worked in medical, ran medical emergencies to pods, yards, etc, and was always, but always treated well by men and women. Even in lockdown situations, gang fights, etc, inmates always protected me. Sometimes the formed a circle around me, sometimes they pushed me in an area so they could protect me. Later, I asked why and was told that I always treated them with respect and treated them fairly in medical, making sure they got treated, saw a Dr, got their meds on time, etc. It touched me. I only thought I was treating them fairly and respectfully like I did everyone else. Nobody ever tried to get me to get anything special or pull any funny stuff. Maybe it was because I was

People have reasons for what they do - if that reason isn't around you then you're okay. Psychopaths are always dangerous because of this, while most people only want to maintain their safety, dignity, and sometimes power (the 'callers'). When I was in the murderers were considered most dangerous because they don't get any more time for killing you, too - but if you keep killing people you WILL fall. The most dangerous moment was when a guy 100 pounds more than me and a cop killer wanted to go through my mates items and I told him I wouldn't allow it - "go through mine" - respect was earned that day and, happy to say, I am still alive.

@эмиль к. If you haven't done anything yet, then please do not. My experience in the pen was that I had my days mapped out in front of me and the people who _really_ suffered daily were my family. I believe that post-soviet countries have tougher systems than we do, but I will repeat what I said above - only watch out for the psychopaths; after that, just do not piss anyone off. If you show respect you greatly reduce your chances of being a mark. It will be a tough decision where to "draw the line" when someone fails to respect you. Most people - in prison too - don't want to fight over nothing. You will certainly meet up with someone who will test you wherever you are, and if it is in prison then people are watching MUCH more than you know. Dont leave your loved ones because you got angry. If you were here I could suggest resources to help, perhaps there are some there. I mean help you to manage your anger. Peace

It sounds like prisons are circuses run by clowns on purpose so that the weakest prisoners who made silly mistakes like auto theft are dominated or killed off by the ones who are there for quadruple homicide. If I had to go to prison for any length of time, I'd rather be locked up by myself in an 10 x 10 cell 24/7/365 as long as I had a toilet, shower, and sink in the corner. It's cute how you say "If you don't want to go to prison". With over 70,000 pages of laws at the Federal level and over 150,000 pages if you include State and Local laws, how do you expect anyone to NOT go to prison these days. A few years ago, a man was sentenced to 8 years 1 month in prison because the business he owned for 30 years shipped lobster tails in the wrong box. Another man was sentenced to 2 years in prison because he added fruit flavoring to vodka and served it in a bar that he owned. Another couple almost got 30 years in prison for clearing a flooded log jamb from their property. With laws like these, I'm surprised everyone in the USA isn't in prison right now. A while ago, I hurt my back and I was prescribed some prescription anti-inflammatory drugs. I got over it, but still had some pills left. About 2 or 3 years later, my Aunt was knocked down by a horse and he stepped on her chest and broke her ribs, but couldn't see a doctor until the next day. My mother called me up because she thought I had some pain pills and asked me if I had any left. If I gave my mother a prescription pain pill to give to my Aunt, and a cop found out about it, all 3 of us could have been sentenced to multiple years or decades in prison for drug trafficking. 1 out of 3 American adults has a criminal record. 1 out of 10 has a felony record. Every year the prison system lets out 650,000 prisoners so they have room for 650,000 more people coming in. America is a police state and it's not going to last for much longer.

Yeah I didn't do much time. Less than a year after credit from county and good time. But my inner conviction from 30 years of being an addict and living in the shadows also makes it a struggle at times to adapt. Don't get me wrong I'm doing well for myself. In just 3 years went from being a homeless heroin addict with legal issues to now having an apartment, truck, good people in my corner, just started my own little painting business. Plenty of work and at that point where I may be able to give out a job to someone. Hoping to even buy my first home by this time next year... But yeah I do struggle with social anxieties and feelings of awkwardness. Not always some times are better than others but it's not fun when I do.

it is good to be back, Larry.... I thought I was facing 6 months of jailtime for a 3rd DUI.... Luckily, the DUI charge dropped and the possession charge was dismissed, due to my effort in recovery treatment & maintaining sobriety After my arrest, I was terrified to watch your stuff... gave me anxiety and panic attacks..... In the aftermath of all of that, I had to come back to your channel. Glad I did... and Yes, I am staying clean and out of trouble. Joey from NJ

Mr Lawton , I really enjoy the videos. I am a retired C.O. for the state of Ohio. You definitely speak the truth. I get a smile on my face sometimes because you bring back a memory I haven’t thought about for a long time. I always showed the convicts respect 1st and if I didn’t get a respectful response back then the attitude changed. You are certainly correct about the cleanliness aspect. I always tell people that the people who show the most respect for their fellow man are convicts. If you don’t show respect then the outcome was almost always violent and sometimes deadly. Have you addressed the differences between convicts and inmates? I’ve always said “ we are all men regardless of what path we have chosen and I could be standing where you are if I had continued in my original chosen path. I just stopped BEFORE I got caught.” Good job! Take care!

I’ve never seen such in your face corruption my entire life. I know it has always existed, but not with the boldness that exists now. Stay away from protests of all kinds, and don’t talk politics.
