As a recovering heroin addict, I spent a little bit of time locked up, and I've definitely done a lot of s*** that I didn't get locked up for, but that I'm not proud of. on the off-chance you see this among 750000 comments, I just want to say thank you for that piece about forgetting. some of the things you say are so motivational I've been watching a lot of your stuff lately and it's so helpful I can't even describe. I guess the best way that I can put it is that, in the most respectful way possible, you did way worse shit than I ever did, and THEN made it through the struggles on the inside, and now you're such like a positive strong person and it's just like good to see that we CAN change.

You have no choice; Your safety, comfort, quality of life, etc, depend on being able to think outside the box, and stretch every tiny little resource, and make it fulfill purposes way past what it was "meant" to do. And in normal life, most people only ever focus on any one task, maybe a few hours at a time. Or 40, maybe 60 hours a week, if it's your job. But in prison, you're focused on hiding stuff, re-purposing stuff, smuggling, etc, 24/7- You have nothing BUT time, to figure out ANY possible way to make your life just a little better. People who think prisoners = stupid, are just showing how sheltered their lives have been (and are almost certainly the type of people who'd last about 20 minutes in a real, life-or-death situation like prison, wartime, "desert island"-type survival scenarios, etc)

Hey Larry, I really enjoy watching your videos as they are very informative and factual. You bring us the unedited and down to earth realities of prison life. Larry, It's great to have them to view as I have already learned things. Please keep your videos coming. Larry, the people of this country need to know what is really happening inside our prisons as it will eventually affect them when the person is released. Take care bro and thank you very much for all your hard work. Jimmy.

Hey Larry, was there ever a guard who was genuinely nice and the prisoners liked?

Larry Lawton, that’s interesting that some guards also did it like the system, thanks!

I would guess that guards are like cops in a way... Many are great people just making a living and if you treat them with respect they'll respect you back.... and some are just out for blood

This man has a fully functioning KZread channel and Patreon. With how difficult society makes it to get a job after being convicted of a crime, this such a wonderfully beautiful side effect the digital era. So happy to see him doing all of these videos.

You are absolutely amazing Larry, your non - judgemental energy can be felt in everything you talk about and it affects how people listen (if that makes sense ). You are going to bring so much change through wisdom and experience. If I was a prison guard I'd want to be kinder because of your stories, if I had a halfway house I'd be more understanding and supportive, if I was a cop I'd be more humane. You are a true inspiration Larry
