    @@suthinscientist9801 no, if morality is based on minimizing human suffering etc. It shouldn't be. Punishment doesnt work it leads to insanely high recidivism. The vast majority of crime is survival/desperation/situation based. Very few people are just evil. But treating people who made a mistake(or worse killed a rapist, sold weed, or other things that really arent immoral) for 10-20 years then expecting them to magically be well adjusted upon release is how you make more evil people not less

    I was a correction officer for DOC and i had a love/hate relationship with my job. I loved dealing with the inmates and listening to their stories and where they came from (thats why i watch ur vids!) but i hated the way the inmates was treated and the system behind the institutions. Always pissed me off

    I never really had a grandfather, most of my immediate family died of drug overdoses. Your grandkids are lucky to have such a chill, understanding, and level headed grandad. Love your content and how wholesome of a guy you are regardless of the awful things that have happened to you. We gotta focus on rehabilitation instead of abusing our fellow humans in the hole but I know I’m just preaching to the choir here. My dads there right now and I need to write more, sent him a lil painting of mine a while ago, hope he got it.

    What you say reminds me of a time I was in Norway and talked with an old lady about Anders Behring Breivik (despicable human being to the core), and she told me something I'll never forget. She said: "It's because he acted like a monster that we must treat him like a human being". I didn't agree at the time but boy did it make me think. Rehabilitation really is the only way, like it or not. Even if it means holding them in a cell for life, they are still humans. Thanks for the great content!

    Larry, would love to see a full video about fitness in prison. How do convicts gets so jacked without a proper diet, workout routines, Powerlifting contests, is there steroids in prison? Etc. Theres a few ex-cons youtubers who covered the subject a bit but not much. Much love.

    no I though of contacting them but I was told by lots of people it could be more traumatic than its worth. I think of them a lot. not proud of those days. thanks for asking

    @@LarryLawtonJewelThief It's probably best that they find out you're a much better person now, instead of you begging and pleading to them you've changed. I've made some mistakes in my past (nothing as major as yours, of course) and I've tried going back to a few people I've wronged but it always goes bad for me, so what I did was just change my ways, then a few of them recognized that I'm no longer the horrible person I used to be.

    Larry, I grew up in a rough area in NYC and saw many friends get killed mostly because of stupid stuff we were doing, I smarted up and moved to Florida 15 years ago and now have a beautiful wife and 2 sons, I manage my oldest sons Baseball Team...nobody is perfect but I believe in people changing, I've been to the tombs in NYC and Riker's Island but they will never see me again, I started my own business and we are doing great! Keep posting brother!

    I have two friends locked up right now. One gets out in April an another is down for 10. I answer every call an make sure they know I'll be here now an when they are done. I tell them this every time we talk. I got you don't worry. One mistake doesn't define a person.

    Larry is a inspiration, he made his mistakes, he is honest about them, shares his story but doesnt glorify it and see the system and doesnt blame it but tries to educate it on what it really is like from a inmate's view. Mad respect Larry as a father myself I couldnt imagine missing a holiday with my family

    who knows what might have happenned. like most criminals I probably would have kept going until I got caught. better I got caught early so I never hurt anyone.. but I don't look back. as a friend taught me I focus on here and now

    Hello Larry. I want to thank you for all you are doing to educate the public on the prison system in America and how broken it truly is. I did two years in state and that was bad also. I agree completely with you regarding the boredom and utter helplessness felt by those incarcerated. When I was in we had a local ministry that came three times a year to share music and compassion. I got out in 2012 and am doing well. I learned valuable lessons about life and myself during that time, lessons I needed to learn. It sounds crazy but I’m thankful for the experience because of what it taught me, but I never want to do it again and agree 100 percent that prison reform begins with educating the American public to the reality that is prison life.

    Do you think that there should be a third tier of crime? Like felony, misdemeanor, and something in between? I think that certain crimes are too severe to be a misdemeanor, but too small to be a felony. I think that would help with rehabilitation and finding jobs
