That's actually really good advice. I struggle with pacing, particularly maintaining a pace throughout longer burpee sessions. I need to hit 390 reps next week for my burpee birthday and I think I'll give the Strong Style burpee a go until then. Thanks for sharing this👍

I think the real secret here is heart rate zone training. The lower your heart rate the more endurance you'll have access to. Pavel Tsatsouline preaches that once you hit 85% to 90% of your max heart rate your heart starts twitching from the speed, and thus can't get you enough oxygen from good repetitions. And in doing hard style burpees you can keep your heart rate, if you're monitoring it. Between zone 3 and the beginning of zone 4.

That's brilliant advice my man! Totally agree. I did 160 unbroken for the 12 minute drill with this technique. Will continue to use it to master higher reps!

Great advice as always. I've even noticed it myself, as soon as I stopped worrying about speeding through the burpees and focus on the steps between I paradoxically increased my number of reps.

How about a 500 unbroken video follow along with the perfect pacing. I would use it on a daily basis until I made it.

Definitely will bear the fruit brother👊. In many ways, the strong style becomes more challenging over the longer sessions, if you’re not used to the time under tension. But as you pointed out, if that’s not an issue for you, the strong style can allow you to rep for days and days🧐…….well for a long time anyway👍.

Definitely going to engage with this style. Agree fully that this should translate to access of higher number in unbroken burpees. Agree or disagree though that the strong style is likely less aerobic and more anaerobic given the pace change and mechanic focus?
