Thanks a lot, yes 12v electra mate tuna brute iii, made in USA Yes I do go up towards Alderney, see the other Longlining video where I catch a couple of turbot ‘Longlining for turbot’ There will be more videos to come where I hopefully catch some larger fish and not just dogfish 🐟

Net is 200 yards / metres Seals don’t seem to be an issue , spider crabs and weed are the issue here

@@WahooGuernseyFishing do you have many seals in Guernsey? What's the deepest water you set your net in? I enjoyed the video and that net hauler works a treat. I heard there was Mackeral caught in Anglesey back in February the sea temperature was certainly warmer earlier.

I used to snapper and commercial fish in the open gulf of mexico on a 65 foot bonner hull boat. I am quite familiar with the use of a deck reel and big spool hydraulic reels for tuna and sword fish. Personally i am glad that that chapter of my life is over. I enjoyed coastal net,and purse seine net fishing more than the off shore misery of intense long line fishing.

Welcome to the Channel Mark 🐟 I’m not full time so have other means of income - the fishing pays for the day to day running costs and KZread now pays some towards annual maintenance costs I have some lobster pots so any species like dogfish etc go as bait. Hope you enjoy the videos 🐟

Interesting compilation. Fishing personalities I suppose, are a bit like food, some types you just don't like. RG, who I have never met, but watched quite a bit of his escapades, for me is no ambassador for angling, certainly on the sea, demonstrating a questionable skill base and irritatingly, never forgetting to remind his audience that he is a famous actor ; not for me in either format. JW I thought was a rather humble man happy to engage with those keen anglers hosting him, and share the diversity of his undoubted skill, particularly on freshwater. But then I met him and my favourable impressions were erased. Anyway poor chap has died now, I think spending his retirement years in Thailand

Yes watched those and the wicked tuna guy you picked out IS very good. The Alaskan crabbers are a group well on their own and I expect you get what you see. RG would never a a hero of mine; not my type at all, too noisey. JW was a real surprise as he had fished with Roger Bayzand who vouched for him, but not for me or my chum.

Hi Mark, my favourite set up is Abu Ambassadeur 20lb class rod that I’ve had for years, 8ft, paired with a penn squall or fathom 30 , no level wind, 25lb braid, 50lb mono leader All my boat rods are 8ft 20lb class, mixture of brands but all similar Reels all Penn squall, fathom or Daiwa sl30sh
