Thanks Yvonne, it was a bit windy then gets extra rough as the wind pushes against the tidal driven surface current, so the sea is travelling one way and the wind is pushing the other, therefore building the surface water up. As the water flows over shallow undulations it also pushes up to form what we call over falls. Even on a flat calm day it will be bumpy through these areas, much like rapids on a river 🌊

Nice day out and fish to come home with what else can you want

Hi Giles, thanks for the comment, I work as a commercial seafarer on rotation so the fishing is my hobby effectively. The gear is of varying age, the boat is 15 years old, I have owned it for nearly 10 of those, I try and maintain everything to good condition and working order 👍 🐟 🐟

Lack of info re where bottom bait used and tide state

Hi Derek, tide was neaps, end of ebb and start of flood tide with slack water (mentioned with the bait catching in the middle of the video). Bottom bait at a range of 100yds or so behind the boat pinned to the bottom with 8-10oz weights, 50lb mono rubbing leader and 30lb mono fluorocarbon 8ft trace, 4/0 hook 🪝 👍 🐟 🐟

It was a bit rough Tom to the point it looked dangerously rough. Some good fish though get they went to good homes 😀
