I believe I hold the 2d record for shad twite in the uk. Just over 2lbs off isle of wight where I live. I was about 21years old at the time, now a old timer. Got a medal for the fish.

First place, Twaite shad have a shore caught record of 2lb 12oz set by J. Martin fishing from Garlieston, Scotland in 1978.

Net is 200 yards / metres Seals don’t seem to be an issue , spider crabs and weed are the issue here

@@WahooGuernseyFishing do you have many seals in Guernsey? What's the deepest water you set your net in? I enjoyed the video and that net hauler works a treat. I heard there was Mackeral caught in Anglesey back in February the sea temperature was certainly warmer earlier.

@@rayhsetwo8594 thanks Ray We do have a growing population of seals in guernsey which will be an ever increasing problem in years to come I would imagine Deepest water I set them is only 30m / 90ft

Hi Richard, thank you. I take the nets home to reset them - untangle, straighten them and get any weed out. As I don’t have the luxury of a net flaker onboard 🐟

How can you catch crabs with net with floats

The net has a lead line on the bottom, once the net is set it sinks to the seabed and sits about 6 foot tall 🐟 👍
