Interesting compilation. Fishing personalities I suppose, are a bit like food, some types you just don't like. RG, who I have never met, but watched quite a bit of his escapades, for me is no ambassador for angling, certainly on the sea, demonstrating a questionable skill base and irritatingly, never forgetting to remind his audience that he is a famous actor ; not for me in either format. JW I thought was a rather humble man happy to engage with those keen anglers hosting him, and share the diversity of his undoubted skill, particularly on freshwater. But then I met him and my favourable impressions were erased. Anyway poor chap has died now, I think spending his retirement years in Thailand

Thanks Hugh Interesting insights there They say - never meet your heroes Did any humour shine through in the narration? Have you watched deadliest catch and wicked tuna?

Yes watched those and the wicked tuna guy you picked out IS very good. The Alaskan crabbers are a group well on their own and I expect you get what you see. RG would never a a hero of mine; not my type at all, too noisey. JW was a real surprise as he had fished with Roger Bayzand who vouched for him, but not for me or my chum.
