Like most people, I'm sure, the Amy Grant version was what I was most familiar with. While I loved her version, the intro was modified to have a more "pop" feel to it, which, frankly, was probably the right call. However, I absolutely love Mullin's version which is truer to Bach's Fugue.

Rich Mullins was the real deal! An authentic person and God fearing human. Rich was an incredible Christian artist whose lyrics bring me closer to God. Simply amazing!

I met him in 1995. I was on a mission trip and we had a presentation that included Sometimes by Step (well, probably just Step By Step, I dont think they thought a bunch of preteens would be good at the verses - we didn't know that Beeker wrote that part of the song). Turns out the small church in navajo reservation that we were working with was his home church. He came to our presentation, and sang with us. It was an amazing experience.

I remember when I was going to Cincinnati Bible College back in 1988 and 89. I’ve been working at a church on the east side of Cincinnati. And I’ll never forget the day when the preacher had Rich Mullins songs on and the preacher said to me I have the same voice that Rich has I just wasn’t called to use it like he was. I’d set beside that preacher many times during worship service and I can tell you without a doubt, he was not a Rich Mullins type of voice. God love him but there was only one RM in my opinion.

Over Critical. I remember when this happened there was a bigger upset about her switching over to secular music than anything else. Everybody had a opinion back then.

What's wrong with "Christian Rock"? Plenty! I've seen 'em come, and I've seen 'em go. They want to look and act like the World, and yet slap some "Christian" words onto their background music. Folks:You can't mix God and the Devil together, and have something good come out of it! "Christian Rock. THERE IS NO SUCH THING!!!!! I'm even critical of at least some"Southern Gospel " Music! For example:In the Middle 1980s, Country Music Star Mel McDaniels wrote a song called "Stand up". This was a song, that was about proceedings of a legal manner, possibly a Divorce Case, in a Courtroom. However, The Kingsmen Quartet used the Background Music from that song, took the Country Lyrics out, and put in "Christian" lyrics. It was STILL wrong, though, in the fact that this "Southern Gospel Group" made a "Country-Gospel" song out of it! It became a hit for the Kingsmen Quartet, but that still doesn't make it right! Watch what you listen to, please, people. That's all I can say.

There's a kind of musicality that can't be reduced to technique or explained in words, and I think it is ultimately the only kind of musicality that counts. Little drops of it are in everything that deserves to be called music, but Rich was soaked in it.

Let's grow up, those who defend Christian rock. You and I and everybody know that the music is the message not the words. Nine times out of 10 you can't even hear the words througj the guitars and the drum beat. You can hear music through a wall and while it is muffled you know exactly if the music belongs in church, or a nightclub, or a satanic occult ritual service. Give me a break and admit it. The music enters your body and appeals wickedly to your flesh in a nanosecond. I truly have a feeling that they know this deep down but won't admit it. If not then they are just blinded by Satan and on their way to a burning eternal hell. There are vices they simply will not let go and music that appeals and tantalizes every inch of our flesh is just something they won't let go. Satan has them hooked unless they ask Jesus to free them.

They won't listen, they don't want to listen, they have been blinded by the prince of this world. So satisfying to listen to you make such perfect obvious sense. Jesus will surely say I never knew you you workers of demonic music.

So very tired of this argument. Those who listen to Christian rock and or Rock will not give up it if their life depended on it usually. It's so sickening. They squirrel that carnal worldly sound that appeals to their flesh it's all fleshy and feels good and tingles the ears and appeals to my toe tapping feet. Don't tell me that that music honors God. I might not be able to give a definition completely clearly but believe me I can tell it when I hear it. Contemporary Christian music and contemporary Christian rock has followed right in lockstep with the world only about 3 or 4 years behind it. The devil loves the beat the beat the beat.

I'm not sure whether this guy understands the difference between rock music and Christian music. First and foremost I would like him to define what Christian music is, and secondly to difine what rock music is and if there is a difference between them. I recall a time in my life when I was listening to Petra and a friend of mine from school asked me if that was christian or religious music. Looking at him with disdain I them asked him, "does this song [Last Daze] sound to you like religious or christian music or does it sound like rock music?" He then answered "rock!" Well then, that's what it is, rock music that speaks the word of God. Pure and simple.

For me, I love listening to Inspirational, Christian music ballads, and Southern Gospel. Plus I love the Gaither Home Coming DVDs. I love the hymns of the Church. I love songs like Another Time, Another Place, God Is In Control, They Could Not, The Day He Wore My Crown, In The Name Of The Lord, We Shall Behold Him, More Than Wonderful, I've Just Seen Jesus, Fear Not My Child, We Will Work The Field Of Souls, He Watches Over You, and Hand On My Shoulder. Yes, I thanful for the 1980s and 1990s Christian music that I listened to growing up and still listening today. Alternative Christian Music will never be accepted in Heaven.

Typical of most anti-Christian Contemporary Music critics. They take some of the worst examples of the genre and imply that their message is typical of all Christian music. They ignore all kinds of really good and wonderful God pleasing music that's in the CCM genre (for example, Rich Mullins' "I See You" and "Awesome God"). As with all genres of music, there are songs that are good, and those that are not as good, or even bad.

6:06 Incorrect. The Horned Hand sign has multiple meanings. It DOES NOT always mean allegiance to Satan. In some countries in Europe, it is considered an offensive gesture similar to "flipping the bird" at someone. In sporting events for the University of Texas, it's called the Hook 'em Horns sign, and it's a common greeting from one Longhorns fan to another. Every football game day when the Longhorns are playing at their home stadium in Austin, Texas, you can see hundreds of thousands of people using that sign. I hope the rest of your research was better than this.

So cut the crap Texas. Kansas. And Colorado. They plant fake govt workers as unhoused and drug addicted on the street. They deliberately keep the speed limits low to the airport to detain you. They don't fix Aurora bc they hate my people. They won't give back Native lands because they hate me and my teacher and my mother.
