I'm sorry, is he really criticizing these people for not reflecting "the joy of the Lord" in their faces while he sits there with a frown doing nothing but judging? Is he seriously implying that there are no Russians who speak English? And did he really just condemn them for dancing to a song openly about faith when literally just a few years before that, this could get them tossed in Prison? How dare they be joyful and pretend they can understand another language! **munches popcorn**

He shoes a picture of the bands and say they have no hope on their faces, I don´t see hope in his either. Fallacy after fallacy. The Lord says in Ezekiel 11 he takes our heart of stone and gives us a flesh one and in Romans 8 and John 10 that we cannot be separated from him. If our heart now is Jesus' we follow him. Sorry, up to part 3 and already too many fallacies and phariseism. Won't stand it to part 7.

I think that is a good point. Let's ask our selves in any situation, how would Jesus react or think about music, instruments etc. PPl don't understand that music is important to God, and we have to examine it according to the Word of God.

Look and see all he has done for me, I lift my hands in praise to Jesus Christ if a sinner comes to a concert and gets saved then where is the problem in that? I got saved at a christian rock concert in 1985 and there is nothing wrong with me. I have come a long way on a hard road but never has Jesus left me alone. And I think that people need to see Jesus first and not what they want to cut down that is be a BULLY!

Exactly right . The Lord did a number on a few years back about judging people by how they looked. It happenned with 2 different people, both very different, and in the same shop. It was amazing - but a liberating one. It would be wonderful if Jeff and Dana could see that truth. And that is one of the things Jesus challenged the Pharisees about.

Thats great news Joel. And i believe it too. Its a great work that your doing. The bible says in the OT somewhere, "whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might". What an inspiring verse. If only the fundie folk would step out and dare to take some initiative, do some different things, some creative endeavours. I'm sure it would lift the morale of the christian Church in America, and impact the world, rather than stay stuck in petty rules, judging everyone else .God bless

No, Jeff Godwin the does does NOT say that a person must "repent of their sins" to be saved. That sentence nor the command it portrays does not appear anywhere in the 66 books of the Bible. That is a false gospel. Godwin uses a bunch of phrases and wording that is nowhere found/commanded in the Bible. Sadly, I believe this has much to do with him be saturated by the false gospel of Jack Chick. The Bible clearly states that to be saved a person must place their FAITH in Jesus Christ, who He is (God and Savior) and what He did (die for their sins on the cross), and believe that He rose again (because only God could do that). It is faith in Him and what He did on the cross that alone saves. The scripture makes it clear that one is to put their faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, and this includes no works. Godwin places a bunch of works before the unsaved person, which they must perform to be saved. He doesn't mention the words faith or believe, which ARE the words the Bible uses in the gospel. He never mentions John 3:16, the actual gospel which Jesus Christ Himself gave to Nicodemus when he wanted to know how to be saved. And what did Paul tell the Philippian jailer, when he asked how to be saved? "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved..." Did Jesus tell Nicodemus and did Paul tell the jailer, "You must get on your knees, break your heart, repent (confess) of your sins, call upon His name, and ask him into your heart"? NO. The English word "repent", which comes from Latin, in the Bible does not mean to confess. It doesn't mean to turn away from. The New Testament was written in Greek, and the word "metanoeo" was given the Latinized word "repent" in the KJV and in other early English Bibles, and metanoeo means simply to change your mind/change the way you think. In conjunction with the gospel, it means to change your mind from unbelief toward the gospel to belief of the gospel message. This is why the central word of salvation in the scripture is FAITH and BELIEVE. Turning from sins, confessing sins, to be saved is a work, and the Bible is clear that salvation does not come by works or any kind. Jesus Christ did all the WORK on the cross because we cannot. Even if we try to do works to become good enough, it doesn't make us perfect, which is what we have to be to go to heaven. If we could confess our sins somehow, or stop sinning, or turn from our sins -- all these false definitions given for the word repent by human teachers -- then Jesus Christ wouldn't have had to come to earth and do all the HARD WORK for us on the CROSS. Calling on His name or "confessing with the mouth" are not requirements for salvation, because as we know, and surely God knows it even more, there are people who cannot physically speak. But anyone who hears the gospel and receives the conviction of the Holy Spirit CAN with their mind/thoughts in conjunction with their heart, BELIEVE on the Jesus Christ and what He did for them. The message of the gospel in the Bible is "believe only" and on the One who did it ALL for us. In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Paul clearly lays out what the gospel is, the one he delivered to the church, specifically laying out in verses 3 and 4 what the gospel is that a person must believe to be saved: "3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures." This is how a person is saved. Anything else, anything that adds (especially terminology and instructions not stated in scripture) to the gospel is a FALSE gospel and cannot/will not save a person. Paul was clear again in Galatians chapter 1. Please get this right. It is the thin difference between eternity in heaven and eternity in hell.

(2 Timothy 3:15) "And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." (Psalms 138:2) "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." God magnifies his word above all his name, and it is for the Good preaching and teaching of the Word of God that I go to church, not for what kind of music.

@shiphrahhopeful I have done studies on the supposed evils of rock music itself for years, and continue to find various inconsistencies and leaps of logic. One of the biggest problems facing the argument is the fact that the Bible is completely silent on any type of music being wrong. Obviously, it can't speak on rock music, since it wasn't around then, but there is simply no statement at all that any particular style of music is, in itself, evil.

Christian metal is so direct in many cases and cannot be taken satanic in any way. for example: You are the blessing and I am the curse I'm ready to run like a child away from the hell I deserve You are the garden and I am the drought I'm emptied over the weeks away Too fond of this bed to see it out This is from a song called The blessing and the curse by Phinehas. All of the bible verses you use against use can be used back at you. You have said that our hearts deceive ourselves but maybe your heart has deceived you. Many people who listen to metal need this kind of positive reinforcement in their lives. So many times I have heard of people who end of committing their life to Christ because this music led them to Him. Christian metal serves as ministry and praise.

God uses music to send his message of salvation to the world? (John 3:3) "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (1 Peter 1:23) "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever."
