Wrestling new components into proprietary cases is always fun, I've done it a few times now. It's oddly satisfying when you get the thing working.

You think it could be a mining card with video output? I recently bought one and I believe it’s a mining card due to being 100 percent utilization when just loading up windows and fans are at 100 percent the entire time even when not doing anything. Plus it doesn’t even let me download drivers.

I wouldn't build an AM5 system using not just cheap parts but ANY parts right now. Between the prices and many discussions on how janky and glitchy everything is alot of us are going to wait for if it ever gets perfected and the pricing wont be good until AM6 or whatever comes out later 😆I'm going to be sticking to AM4 for quite a while.

unfortunately this is the harsh reality of the am5 or any other amd platform, i know these are low quality parts, but the truth is that even with normal quality parts from reputable companies, the chances of a sistem working properly is a lottery, some people experience a well working computer, some are not, thats what an unfinished platform does, so amd its still experimenting, they still have ram incompatibility issues and other flaws in an unfinished platform., for lots of money. sad. will check the amd platform again in 10 years

This old tech always interests me. It's well before my times of getting into PC building. I started when the RX 580 was a thing and that was my first GPU. My cat loves my pc just like yours too lmao. She rubs her face all over the area around the exhaust fan.

Hey Dawid. Love the videos. I would suggest that for AMD stuff in the future, you should try AFMF since the folks who buy this kind of stuff will want to eke out every frame they can and it works well enough that it could really help someone who is on a budget squeeze out another 20-30 FPS out of their tiny PC.

You make it sound like a meme, as if, Acer made a specific model to be sold at Costco. Acer is acer, asus is asus, hp is hp, whichever wherever, whenever you get it from. Itll be more interesting if you bought a laptop branded as Costcodator from Costco. You can get this acer model literally from anywhere.

it's sometimes hard to put into perspective how bad the power of a cpu/gpu really is. But HL2 is the perfect comparison. My 2003 PC could run that on max settings fine. Crazy that something this weak gets sold today at all.

That's a lot of money to pay for a 2048SP build. And putting it on a Zen 5 platform is just dumb. If all you have is 2048SP money, by the time you scrape together enough for an upgrade, we'll be on AM7, lol. What you call a 'bare steel' look is actually anodized aluminum. Grey is just the cheapest color you can get with anodizing because most functional anodizing on aluminum alloy has that same color. The anodized aluminum structural members on my glorified kite of an airplane have the same color. Any other color is generally 'decorative anodizing' and would cost more. Your AliExpress GPU may be a salvaged board with a new cooler, in which case, it could have a mining VBIOS.

Oh man, I have been going through the exact GPU crashing issue over the past few weeks. I have a 51Risc RX 590 GME which is essentially an RX 580 with a bigger number. I've had it for months and never had an issue. I only fire that system up when one of my nephews comes over to play a game with me, so it usually sits off most of the time. Several weeks ago one the nephews comes over and we start playing a game and BAM! GPU driver crash. Reinstall the driver and a few minutes after starting the game.....BAM! It crashed again. So, I went through EVERYTHING you can think of to diagnose this thing, including having 51Risc send another one GPU. New card, same issue. Long story shorter, I removed the motherboard so I could test outside the case. I grabbed a spare PSU and the issue just POOF!!! went away. I removed the original PSU from the case and tried it and the crashing came back. The original PSU is a Seasonic Focus 850 watt Gold. Didn't even think for a moment it could be the issue. Dawid, I wonder if you were to try a better brand of PSU if that MLLSE card would work after all.

I watch these videos and become mildly depressed. When I purchased my graphics card it was during the high price problems. I got the 3070 Ti. Literally 1 week after I received my card, the 4070 ti has it's controversial mess happen and the price dropped way low. If I'd just waited about 2 weeks, I would have had a better card.

The driver issue is because WIndows in it's infinite knowledge is replacing your installed drivers with Windows Update drivers, so the AMD control panel goes into a WTF mode. Just disable windows driver auto install and you're golden

I remember my first, unexpected, very good cooler for an Intel processor. After changing the processor to the i7 4790k, I didn't have a cooler for it, so I installed the one I had from the i5 4440, which turned out to be a mistake in terms of temperatures. Having nothing else for this soclet, and no money, I dug out an old computer cooler for socket 775, with a set of fins almost three times higher, and a full copper core (those were the times when the fan did not reach its legs to the board while holding the radiator, but when the radiator had four metal legs and the fan fastened to the radiator with two latches). I don't know what processor it came from, but it was a typical factory cooler, only much taller. Of course, the mount from 775 did not fit 1150, but I came to the conclusion that the plates holding the mointing clasps were too long so I would try to enlarge the hole in them. So I dismantled the clips, used a saw to cut the holes completely outwards so that now the cooler legs resemble a two-finger fork, I put the clips on and in this way I received an efficient cooler that fits from the 775 stand to even the 1200 (I haven't tried it on the 1700 yet) which allowed me to run without any problems 4790k until I bought a tower cooler and now it is waiting in the drawer when I have something for diagnostics, or as a solution in the meantime, e.g. water cooling is under complaint. Of course, it does not keep up with the new 200+W processors, but when using them without overclocking at the base clock, it allows you to use a computer that otherwise will stand waiting for another cooling solution.
