Yup, that is the way of the budget market. Every step up gives a massive increase in performance and quality. Like going from a $30 GPU to a $50 GPU to a $70 GPU to a $90 GPU, each step massively improves the result. And there are lots of budget things that are budget, but not cheap. For the longest time I played with a 20 € mouse, and it did a great job. Not as good as one for 50, but a noticable difference to one for 10

The mouse jiggler would be an absolute godsend for jobs like mine where the IT department doesn't count actual computer activity as *use*, so if I trigger a large batch script and let it run -- odds are good I will come back and find my VDI session has timed out and been recycled even though the script still had several hours to go. I usually have to put the mouse on my record turntable and clip the cord in place to keep it from entering sleep mode when I can't be bothered to sit here and interact with the stupid thing every fifteen minutes.

yeah reminds me of those MMO's and whatnot where you could AFK fish and some games didn't like that too much, so this would keep you "active". Though nowadays games would either have more complex detection or simply not care, AFK gaming is often promoted often times, as long as they keep you in the game.

Also that's just bad business, if the person is a fat ass you make them buy multiple gamer meals and it can be bundled with Double XP tokens for their favorite battle royales. Off topic but your comment reminded me of the one time I was at McDonalds and saw a man buy 5 Big Macs, 2 buckets of fries (at one point McDs sold buckets of fries) 2 large drinks and then he brought a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos into the restaurant to eat with his meal. It's likely a "Peltier" cooler. Peltier devices use materials where when a voltage is applied, one side gets really hot and the other gets really cold. There used to be CPU Peltier coolers like 15 years ago, I think they are out of fashion because they generate a lot more heat than they take away. So the CPU does get really cold, but the inside of the case gets very hot.

Okay, to be fair, mouse jigglers have one purpose that can be really handy. If you get a laptop from the government, or from a massive corporation, they typically have very short lock periods (mine is about a minute.) What that means is you can't even go to the bathroom without the laptop locking, requiring logging back in (generally with a smartcard) and re-opening your VPN connections. A jiggler allows you to go to the bathroom, or make a cup of coffee without having to relogin to everything. Obviously you don't use them in an unsecured environment, but if it's sitting on your desk at home... yeah, they are a huge time saver.

The half keyboard is good for VR. When I was playing Elite Dangerous in VR, keeping control of where you are on a regular keyboard can be a little bit of a mess, so I got a Razor Tartarus Chroma , a partial keyboard with some mouse control on it. Bound all my auxiliary controls to that and never needed to bother hunting over my keyboard blind. :)

If you had the other half of that keyboard, you could set up a wicked space sim setup, with that half right behind the throttle and the other half right behind the joystick. :) (and yes, I understand it's designed to be used with a mouse for the right hand and there's not actually an "other half")

Regarding the Half Keyboard. It got all the keys you 99% of the time would you use in videogame with said hand. With some models certain companies sells having Plenty of extra keys for macros placed around it. Hell i think Razer sells one with a joystick.

I use to have a half keyboard and it was one of the most comfortable gaming keyboards I've ever used. Of course, not having a full keyboard is a problem, I just had a cheep 60% as well for everyday typing. But the way the spacebar was helped, and the macros were good too.

Also, a lot of WFH supers have a monitoring program showing when the last time you did an action, like move your mouse.

The mouse jiggler makes sense, because some computers have 'power saving' permanently on, and the screen shuts off if you dont keep moving the mouse. It drives a person crazy when theyre watching an embedded video or reading pages of information. On the other hand, never plug a USB anything into your computer or phone if you dont know the brand and trust it.

To make a point in favor of the half keyboard. I use one myself, and every day. I have a regular keyboard ALSO plugged in. It's just when I gane I like my arms to be more spread put and I hate having to pick up my heavy mechanical keyboard and move it over to the side and at an angle so I can relax and use one hand on keys one on mouse. With the half keyboard it's so convenient, and 90% of games I play, mainly competitive fps games, never have a need for a button I can't hit with one hand. And if I need to chat, my other full size is right there. But again, I also have a huge desk and use a 42 inch monitor so, your milage may vary.

There's a few different ones out there but the best and now not being sold (I saw a listing on Amazon for 1200USD) was the Logitech G13 but Razer Tartarus is another one. There's also a really funky monstrosity called the Azeron Gaming Keypad :) I think these were most popular with MMOers

The keyboard peripheral is supposed to be used in conjunction with a normal keyboard, not replace it. I still have an old Belkin Nostromo Speedpad n52 I used to use all the time. Then they stopped making drivers, and software for operating systems from Vista forward. Razer made two versions of it too. One was called Tartarus, and the other was Orb Weaver. They're great once you get used to them, but it takes a good while.

I will say the half keyboard does actually have a use case. Some people don't have a lot of desk space so the half keyboard allows them to have more mouse travel space while gaming. It is in no way a replacement for a full keyboard but it is an instead option. Artists also use similar keyboards for macro keys as there desk tends to be taken up by their drawing tablet.
