Its more of an Intel's fault: Up to 11th gen only the highest/most expensive Z-series chipset allowed for overclocking (including memory) and definitely not on non-k CPU. 12th/13th gen CPUs and motherboards had some of the restrictions on memory overclocking (xmp profiles) lifted.

It's not that they don't bother. It's that the CAD price is a conversion from USD and it fluctuates. While the USD price is actually MSRP (usually a 1:1 for euros too). It just makes more sense when in 2 weeks there could be a 20~100CAD difference. To be clear it's just never in our favor because we don't have a massive population/market.

I finally bought a gaming desktop and moved up from a 2018 msi apachevr that had a 1060 in it and an i7. I bought an ROG desktop with an i7, 3060 and 16gb of dual channel ram for around $1200 and there are some things I like and things that hurt me. The case is actually pretty great especially when I look at your channel. It has ventilation on the front, top and right with the left housing a panel of glass or whatever the material is. The dual channel is great and running that the 3200 it's rated at but the bios is basically the same as what was included in this one with little room to work with. The only bloat was myasus and armorycrate which were easy enough to get rid of. The huge issue I have is the power supply being 500 watts. I'm sure that's enough as it is 80 plus gold I believe but I really feel like I should upgrade that and I believe I actually can luckily though. I'm sure someone will say I paid way too much for it but I had circumstances where Best Buy wasn't the best buy but rather the only buy if I wanted to upgrade my laptop with no cpu cooler running at 90°c consistently. I was pleasantly surprised considering what I've seen you wade through.

I paid 1150 for it, it was probably the better pre built PC deals i have ever seen. Came with a 120mm AIO CPU cooler too and a total of 4 RGB fans with a remote control for the RGB hub. Best buy does have some really solid deals sometimes, just gotta be patient and shop around for something really good. I would buy the Aliexpress system in a heartbeat if I didn't know how to build a system. If it just had a 5600x or 5700x, it would be a serviceable desktop for many years. The 2060 Super isn't great but I think the case and components are not bad. The 4500 kind of holds it back a little bit if anyone was to do productivity work on it. MXZ has a 5700 version for $979. They also have a 3060 Ti/1 TB SSD/5700 option for $1139. Not bad for a prebuilt. Sure you could build the same setup for about $800-900 but for it being prebuilt, it isn't bad.

I have a similar ASUS system (AT LEAST CASE WISE) but mine has a Nvidia RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 5700G with 16Gb of ram and paid $1300 US almost 2yrs ago. I have since upgraded my RAM to Corsair RGB 32GB 3600Mhz for CAD reasons and upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 7 5700x ($199 on Amazon on sale a year ago) which was quite a boost that I did not expect probably because of the PCIE 4.0 support the 5700G only supports PCIE 3.0 so my GPU and SSD's are slightly faster now. I am also overclocking the 5700X for even more performance while still air-cooling with a BE-QUIET cooler. As far a the BIOS goes mine has a ASUS B550 MB and does support XMP. The BIOS looked the same in the video so you may not be looking in the right spot. As you stated I too am NOT a fan of the case here but it was a pre-built and these were the best specs I could get at that time when prices were INSANE!

I've done repairs and upgrades on the best buy system, everything was taped and glued down, made a cooler upgrade hugely more complicated in my experience. Also with the model I did repairs on had an RTX 3060 which starts having thermal issues and required a repaste and fan replacement, so yea, don't get those they really dont want you to upgrade it. (stock configuration had extreme thermal throttling on the cpu, hence the cooler upgrade)

Did you compare, in specifics the Return and Exchange Policies of both and the actual (real) customer experiences? For example, the cost of shipping the Aliexpress PC back to the seller considering it will cost you a lot more then it cost to send to you.

Probably a b460, those didn't have memory oc unlocked. B560 did, it would be weird for asus to put an 11th gen chip in a 10th gen board when they are in the business of selling motherboards but that would explain why there is no ram oc option in bios.

That may be the case with their Intel builds but not their AMD ones. I bought one of their AMD builds during the start of Scalpergate and it was the only way to actually find a video card in my area. I was able to set XMP to the speed of the dual channel memory it had. I wonder if Intel has something to do with that? EDIT: I just saw the reply from Covante, and yep, it's an Intel thing. I had forgotten that Intel limited memory overclocking to the Z series boards at one time. If anyone wants the specs of that system, it had a Ryzen 7 3700X, 16gb of Micron 3200 MHZ memory, a GTX 1660 Ti, and a 500w 80+ gold PSU. The motherboard was an Asus Prime B550M of the cheapest variety. I forgot what brand the PSU was but it wasn't complete garbage. I still have it packed up around here somewhere. It also had much better ventilation than the Asus system Dawid had in this video and I was able to add more fans to it with a little light modding of the case. I paid less than US$1000 for the system through the US army exchange. For those that don't know what that is, it's the tax-free store that caters to the US army and veterans.

Its have a hidden bios. Just look for how to unlock it . Pressing "A" while entering BIOS setting - after pressing your key to enter the BIOS setting (usually F1,F2,F8,F10,F12 or DELETE) immediately press A once. Look around your menus and see if something is unlocked. If you have a laptop with an "Fn" function key toggle try pressing Fn+Tab three times. Check for menus again. I read that it is possible you need to re-enter your BIOS settings before unlocking the menu, so you could also try to enter your setting once, pressing the combination three times, and then re-enter the BIOS settings Other common combinations, usually pressed while under POST to enter the BIOS: Shift+F1/F2/etc. ; Ctrl+Shift+F1/... ; Ctrl+Alt+F1/...; In laptops you could also try Fn+F1/.. or Ctrl+Fn+F1/...

Ryzen 4500 is PCIe 3.0 vs Intel 11th Gen PCIe 4.0. For gaming, it seems PCIe Gen doen't matter as long as it is 16x. For budget gaming (Australia), buying a laptop is more affordable. ROG Strix GA15 R5-3600X/16GB/1TB SSD/GTX1660Ti 6GB Desktop @ Harvey Norman is AUD 2399. A gaming laptop with Nivida 30XX is less than AUD 1900.

Seeing all these bad pre-built PC videos makes me really happy I managed to snag a great deal from Amazon for a Cyberpower PC that was $1550, but came with a 4070 15gb, an AMD 7 7700, a 1tb m.2 SSD, and 16GB of DDR*5*. My only issues with it was the 16gb number, but that was remedied by me buying another stick for 32GB total, and the lack of a USB-C port in the back. The case, an Eluna 241V case, has...interesting cooling on the left side of the PC, and while I'm not entirely unsure just how good the cooling's going to be in the coming Summer, it's been keeping everything pretty nice at 50C-ish when gaming for the GPU and about 70C for the CPU, which I guess is okay given that it's air-cooled. The case has options to slap some fans on top of it if I want more or if I wanna slap on a water-cooling system instead, so overall I'm happy with the purchase (especially since my 6 year old system was a Cyberpower system too). It's amazing to me that there are *so many* bad pre-builts out there and yet I was able to get a good one that slipped through the gaps, and get this: Amazon or Cyberpower must've realized what they were offering for $1550, and raised the price to $2K, so I *really* got lucky here. EDIT: The OS install was also incredibly clean with no bloatware or added anti-virus aside from what Windows comes with, so more points there.

You should test bf5 in dx11 since the dx12 is kinda broken, while dx12 can give you a bit more performance (or less) depending on your system. DX11 doesnt suffer nearly the same stutters / frame time fluctuations dx12 does.

    1. Were those PS/2 connectors? I didn't know they were still a thing. Cool. I bought my motherboard in 2015 (X99 Deluxe 3.1) and it didn't have any. 2. I still have Windows 10 as my PC is not deemed worthy enough for Windows 11 requirements (older CPU and mainboard), but I didn't know you had to connect your Microsoft account to the OS. I hope there is a solution to that as I highly doubt I will ever accept that if I ever manage to get a new PC. 3. I wouldn't buy either, good points you made. Cool video.

I've always said there is no real reason to buy a prebuilt. If you don't want to build your own system, that's perfectly fine and understandable, but if you live somewhere with access to a PC store, such as PCCaseGear, Umart, MSY, Scorptec, etc in my region, then go for a custom built system. You get the advantage of picking the parts yourself, and usually with help from staff IME, and they'll put it together for you, and usually...hopefully, test it, before sending it out to you. A win win, IMO, if you don't wish to build a PC yourself. I find building PCs annoying and frustrating, so will go down that route myself for my next PC.

The amount of cores and core speeds appears to be as valuable as to how many generations they are old. Both from the 4500 and 11400 to the current generations is perhaps a ~30 ish percent difference in efficiency. That's the difference between 4.2 ghz and 6ghz. Also, I would have loved to see if a bit of aliexpress pc overclocking of the cpu could have helped it out in gta v specifically.

A quick perusal of the seller and I see they have a similar box with the R5 5500, a better CPU based on Zen 3 vs the R5 4500. The 5500 has double the L3 cache and support for up to 64GB RAM vs 32 GB. The 5500 also supports more PCIe lanes at 24 vs 12. The 5500 also beats the 4500 at most of the published benchmarks. The price difference I see between these 2 systems with everything else the same is the 5500 with the same 2060S is about $30 CAD less. Really makes me wonder about choosing the 4500 in the first place. EDIT: I am referring to the Aiexpress unit BTW.

I like the spring-loaded power switch on the Best Buy better than the Ali, there's just no satisfactory feedback from a click. A spring button is sort of like using a bolt-action, something more involved with the machine rather than a semi-automatic action. Pulling the trigger each time the bolt reloads itself isn't as fun as doing it yourself.
