Finally got around to this....wow. Never had flavors that stacked so well, the evolution is crazy
Quite possibly the best video yet! Absolutely in love with this
We can we get a full bar tour!
Before watching the ending I was going through my inventory in my head thinking what I had and what I would need to get and by the end I decided, who cares. Thanks for taking one for the team. Cheers 🍹
The intro to this video is absolutely stunning. Love all the shots.
🔥🔥🔥
Ofcourse the creator is Filipino wtf ❤
It really is the best gin cocktail 😢
I absolutely love your work! Just fantastic! Thank you for sharing the deep dive insights. 🤙🏻
This is a great video! I think a lot of KZreadrs use certain ingredients, and don't think about how viewers may need additional info on them. I've used all of these except the coconut water from an actual coconut. I think lots of people must "frown" on the Coco Real - I used it in my last video and I saw a dropoff in viewers at the moment I added it to the drink! Now that I hear you say you don't mind it, I don't feel as much like I did something wrong, lol.
Fun fact from the intro, Stan freberg is the guy who suggested to George Lucas to cast Anthony Daniel's as c3po
Caught a glimpse of a modern smartwatch during the retro intro which totally ruined the entire channel and life for me. That's it I'm done! :D - - - awesome as usual Derek!
You’re giving Distinguished Spirits a run for his money. Excellent video.
I absolutely love this style of videos
THIS VIDEO is maita'i roa ae! Amazing work!
The Saturn is an absolute banger🗿💯 It's so easy to down 3 of these things. Great history lesson, too!👍 I had no idea the story behind this one was so deep..
Comment and like for the algorithm. The people must see this!
I’ve felt like i’ve been a subscriber from day one… This is not just one of your best, this may be one of the best cocktail videos ever 🙂↔️
This one might be your crowning achievement to date. The production is stellar, of course. But the heart of this video is the investigative journalism plus your talent for storytelling. You're challenging commonly accepted beliefs and not just adding to the tiki canon but advancing it. Just outstanding. Well done.
Derek went full documentarian... A video as nice as the drink it features.
Just great. Thanks for this masterpiece!
Absolutely insane! Such amazing work here. Thank you so much for your effort to make such high quality content for us to enjoy.
And the Academy Award for the best KZread non-feature length film cinematography goes to... you, Sir!
Love the stock footage integration in this video!
If your production techniques get much better, you're going to need a mini series on Netflix. The Saturn was probably the first "tiki" drink I ever had with gin, and made me appreciate gin more. I don't know if you've ever made the Cobra's Fang on the channel, but maybe you could do a video or a series on the Cobra's Fang, the Sidewinder's Fang (from Smuggler's Cove), and the Golden Fang (from the Death & Co. book, "Welcome Home), which is a gin variation.
Getting artsy with it. I dig.
Wow. I really enjoy your uploads. The production is really top-notch.
bro you need way more views than you’re getting right now this is just great
Holy production value Batman! Enjoy that you do the research, and put the time into the video. I really enjoy how you mix up the way you shoot and produce the videos. Keeps them fresh and its not all the same like many others on the tube. Thanks!
Negroni with lemon ???? You should be in prison
Bravo…
Incredible work from start to finish 👌
Thank you!
Does anyone have the recipe for Popo Galcini's Mosquito? I see the ingredients on the screen, but not the amounts of each. There are a variety of Mosquito cocktails that you can find online with all sorts of ingredients, but none match the one in this video.
I don't think anyone knows. It was only mentioned in print one time and was only a list of ingredients.
@@makeanddrink I suppose that could make for a cool episode--testing different ratios of those ingredients to see what works best. It may not be exactly his proportions, but I'd bet it would be close, and it would be nice to bring that cocktail back into use. The ingredients are within reach of most home bartenders.
Dude! Make and Drink is not just another cocktail Tube.
Loved it 👏👏👏
You didn't have to go that hard with the intro. But I'm glad you did :)
had to
Gosh, even that transition from the portrait of Popo to Wondrich’s article is superb yet understated. It’s not just fancy high production going into this, it’s TASTE! 🏆
thank you!
That intro! OMG. You make my life better! Seriously! Thanks so much for making videos like this!
Glad you enjoy it!
Some legitimate filmmaking with this one, especially that wonderful opening. Great job! And a nice tribute to one of my favorite drinks.
That was amazing!
Amazing intro. I can't think of a cocktail channel that started with this quality and keeps upping the ante. These drink history videos are fantastic and I can't wait to see the next one that gets this same treatment. P.S. Saturn's are my favorite tiki drink. I love Rum, but something about this one just elevates even a basic Gin to a flavorful libation.
Definitely your best video to date! Well done my friend, well done!
Dude! Amazing work on this one!
Thank you! Cheers
Love the urban legend that the recipe was lost until it was found on a glass at a second hand store. BTW get video editing!!!
thank you!
love this!
Fantastic video, and glad I finally got to peek at your back bar, i've always been intrigued as to how much more it extended beyond your set.
Such a high quality video. Loved every second. Thank you for doing the research and putting this out!
Incredible video! 1 super small note, you said at 15:34 that it appears in Beachbum Berry's Intoxica! but it actually appears in Beachbum Berry's Taboo Table. Definitely not a big deal, I just don't want anybody buying the wrong book for the recipe.
Ah man what's annoying is I checked the recipes from Beachbum sand I for sure saw the one Taboo Table and wrote down Intoxica. I always forget there's several recipes at the end of the book.
What an amazing tribute to a cocktail and it's creator, with a closing toast to the man himself. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really outdone yourself very nice video
Thank you! Cheers!
