Excellent narration and video with clear audio. And appears to have been an authentic presentation with little or no shortcuts to illustrate all the steps to install the Ford puck system. Way to go Eddie...
Good one. Thanks!!
does it matter if the meter is on top of the tank instead then the bottom?
Yes, it needs to be on the bottom of the tank for it to work.
Do you drive with the dishy on or take it down?
We take it down before we move. I did a permanent cable run so it is now very quick to install or remove the dish. Here’s a link to that video. STARLINK RV ROOF MOUNT PERMANENT CABLE INSTALLATION kzread.info/dash/bejne/dX-nxqaPXdy3qrQ.html
Just the video I needed. Saved me a couple hundred bucks for sure. Thank you.
Great vid. Straight to the point.
Just the video we needed. Thank you! I do have a question about the windows like those that go up and down. Mine are very had to open, please tell me there is an easy fix?
Glad this was helpful! I wish there was an easy fix for your hard to open windows. Fortunately for us, we’ve never had that issue, however, our friends do have the issue and they have not found an easy solution. The windows would most likely need to be removed and reset. If you happen to find an easier fix, please come back to let me know so we can inform our friends. Thanks!
@@EddieAtLarge I sure will.

I love bishop’s castle
My rv’s battery is also charged from the vehicles alternator when engine is running. The alternator is designed to charge lead acid batteries. Whats missing here?
Back in the 90s, a rave party was run out of Bishop's Castle by the county. The whole crowd migrated up Phantom Canyon to my property near Victor. It was somewhat unexpected and a train of cars, trucks and old school buses was not a usual sight up there. The transplanted rave went on for a couple of days (loud weird music annoying the mountain folks for miles around), and they kind of trashed the place. In the aftermath of that semi-unplanned fiasco, one man was walking around in the early morning with a plastic bag in his hand, cleaning up the trash the ravers had left behind. That man was Jim Bishop. He gave a shit what had happened to our place through no fault of his own. That is the kind of man I knew him to be. Great guy. Great castle. Don't forget it is also the resting place of his son, who was tragically lost during the construction of the castle.
where is the woven vinyl replacement available ? what sizes is it available in ? thanks !!!
We ordered ours through our RV dealer in Palm Desert, CA for $300 (including shipping &tax). Because the the newer model of our camper has this same material, we were able to get ours cut to the exact size & have the edge bound at the factory. You can however get this same material from Trekwood RV Parts & Supply online. When you order from Trekwood, you would order the size you need and then you would need to take it to an upholstery shop to bind the edge unless you know how to do that. I know Hobby Lobby sells binding material and other people have used industrial hot glue to adhere it to the edge, however, I've never tried that and I think I would prefer to have it sewn on. Here'a a link to the same material that we installed that's on Trekwood's website. www.trekwood.com/products/1472514/S-O-Carpet-48-x-186-JubilationSoulfulGrey-Yukon They do have other size (and maybe other color) options available. You may want to call them as their website isn't very easy to search and navigate. I used the keyword "jubilation" to search their site as that is the color that we have. Type that keyword in and click through the pages to find other size options. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

I broke so many of these when I was a little kid in my parents camper. That crooked shade look will always stay in my memories 😂
🤣
Great stuff here. It is a shame we must do prevention like this to have a piece of mind, but thieves ARE out there. Better safe than sorry. Triggered lights and cameras are a must, especially automatic off-site video storage. I also agree about having dogs. We travel with our "fur children", and they let us know about EVERYTHING that takes place outside. Thanks
We’ve been very fortunate. In 5 years of traveling, never an incident with us personally. Always good to be prepared though! ✌🏻
This video is absolute gold! Thanks
Thanks!! 🙏 😊
Do you do all this boondocking on that one 100 amph lithium battery?
We actually now have 3 batteries and 900 watts of solar.
Awesome video and detail, but if you have a true fear heights and try this hike GOOD LUCK!!!!! NO way you can do it...made it to the chains a few years ago ...would have loved to continue but fear of heights set in...but i got some great photos for my memories
At least you gave it your best shot! 👍🏻
Good point, thanks
The dates of races, please would like to visit
I think they may only have the races in the winter when all the “Winter Texans” are there. You can call and ask them though. maps.app.goo.gl/VqffAkefUa2vu3MSA?g_st=ic
Safety in numbers.. why not park in a circle like the old western wagon trains?
Stellar idea! We’ve actually seen some people position like this, however, i think it was more so they could hang out at their big fire pit in the center of the ring. 🔥
This just happened to our 2019 Cougar. Thank you for making this video!!!
You’re very welcome! Best of luck with your repair. 🤞🏻
Glad to know I am not the only one that posts my screw ups in the videos... I was looking for input on the app. I am rebuilding a Class B motorhome and adding water tanks underslung instead of in the camper. These will really help...
Our awning was getting little holes and micro tears...you could look up and see sun light poking through. I got a can of Flex Seal black spray and evenly sprayed it on the very top part that is exposed to the sun all day (I first used alcohol to clean the surface). I would NOT recommend this...a year later, the flex seal is chipping off. My next guess is the maybe get eternabond, like 6" or 8" width and run it across the whole area of the awning that is always exposed to the sun. Still debating.... Thanks for the info.
👍🏻 That sounds like a mess. Hope everything works out for your project. 🤞🏻
Absolutely, always carry.
I’m not sure why you would start your video and not know where you’re going?
Well…. That’s just par for the course with me, probably because I’m used to my wife telling me where to go. 😉
Great tutorial. I just did one, one more to go. I didn’t want to wait for shipping from Amazon so grabbed some 80lb mono at sportsman’s warehouse. It seems to be working. Thanks!
Can you drive with it attached? Can you also use it while driving?
For us, it would be too high for overpasses, so we take it down prior to moving. I did make another video showing how I permanently ran the cable. It’s so easy now to put it up and take it down. Only takes a minute. STARLINK RV ROOF MOUNT PERMANENT CABLE INSTALLATION kzread.info/dash/bejne/dX-nxqaPXdy3qrQ.html Not sure if it would work while moving. I’ve read that it’s not supposed to as it would detect movement and shut down service automatically. Starlink does sell an “in-motion” dish. It is much more expensive though.
I don't see the flooring on the link shared 🧐

Hi! Did you leave carpet in the bedroom? How much did this cost please? Did it only take one day to do?
We did leave it in the bedroom. Would like to change it out someday though. It did take less than a day. Maybe 6 hours at most. You could’ve just cut the ground wire then just use a wire nut to reinstall it no harm no fowl lol
👍🏻
I have always called that part the thermopile. Not a thermocouple or electrode.
Great Video! Thank you so much!
How’s the repair holding up?
Hey Jeff, it finally started coming loose after 2 years. I’m gonna redo it again the same way. Still much cheaper and easier than replacing the awning.
Blind locking clips for Entry Door. ????
I broke the cheap hard plastic locking clips that holds the shade up. Can they be replaced? If so, where can I get them? Thank you, Mike
Hey Mike, same thing happened to a few of ours. No idea where to get them replaced, however, I just took the end caps from the top and drilled a hole for the string to run through. Not a perfect fit, but, it is functional and we can’t see the end on the top where the missing piece is as the valance hides it. Hope that helps!
DUDE, esp32 camera, uplink to phone and 9 volt battery, and you can have full color pictures of thieves and track your rv, and cost about $14 and watching 6 you tube video.
With the constant wind , movement and rust eventually the welds will break and the entire steel walkway system will be unsafe its only a matter of time, still very cool but very unsafe
It is definitely a little sketchy! 😨
How did you secure the carpet once you got it cut and in place?
The area under the booth seating is held down by the furniture that is screwed into the floor. We only put one screw (with a washer) in the back left corner behind the seats just to hold that in place until the recliners were reinstalled. The recliners are then secured to the slide floor with screws from underneath and that holds the flooring in place for that section. If your setup is different, I would recommend using small staples along the side and rear perimeter or you may want to glue it down along the edges and leave the remaining “floating”
You need to make videos WITHOUT the background noise of the river. Background noise is still background noise whether traffic or the sound of rushing water.
FYI, no dogs allowed in Hocking Hills State Park. Leave your dog in the camping area!!!
From the state park website: “Are dogs allowed in the parks? Yes, pets are allowed in State Parks on leashes. However, pets are not allowed in State Nature Preserve, which includes Conkle's Hollow and Rockbridge Nature Preserves.” That being said, leave your kids at the camping area, they way more destructive and annoying!!! And at least my dogs are cute!
Perfect! Just what i needed to know - thanks for a great time lapsed video too.
Where did u get the roofmount from?
Starlink.com
Why not just replace with a vinyl tile or linoleum…? Seems like this will just get dirty like carpet and trap dirt and dander underneath. I’m genuinely curious? 🤔
It was way easier to install this. Especially since I was able to get it with the factory edging. And it doesn’t trap the dirt underneath due to the solid (cloth) backing. It is also very easy to keep clean. We just vacuum it with our cordless Dyson vac on a regular basis and then wash it periodically with some mild detergent and water. Been a year and a half now and we still love it!
@@EddieAtLargethank you for the reply. Much appreciated!! Happy RV living to y'all!

Didn't you have your phones with a flashlight??? We went a few weeks ago and our daughter and hubby took great pics inside the Rock House just using their phones
Our phone flashlights weren’t able to illuminate enough for the GoPro as GoPros are terrible in low light. I now have an iPhone 13 that does pretty good in low light. Way better than they used to.
Friends grandma showed me how to do stained glass this year, that stuff is not cheap! This guy put a lot of work into this place and the government tried their best to take it, let’s keep it a treasure forever 🤙
Butyl Tape works great too
👍🏻
I finally came to the realization that from Rv safety security, stress in towing, high price of camping and gas and full campgrounds. And the last camping trip another RV person backed their rv into my travel trailer crushing the ladder. It took two months to get The part and get it installed. THEN THE BIG LIGHT BULB went off…the price of a hotel room was looking very attractive. Camping is also a lot of work… after camping for 30 years.. I sold my 2021 Winnebago micro mini TT. Times have changed…way too many drifters wandering around and the ROI no longer makes sense.
