@George Banning Thank you George! Looking back, I wish I would have shown details of a few more places in town. We stopped in for dinner at the Twin Rocks Cafe which was a really cool little place right below the Twin Rocks that I showed in the video. There is a trading post there that was closing as we arrived, so, I didn't take video there. Fort Bluff may also be of interest to you while in the area. Lots of other petroglyph and other sites close to town. You'll love it there!

Good to see some people in a fifth wheel out finding campsites. But it’s a big responsibility pulling them. Out in the great wide open __ the best of two worlds, I bet it’s the best night skies .

@Kris It is a big responsibility for sure. Gotta be extra careful when taking them to remote areas on rough roads. We have at least one upcoming episode where we do some damage to the camper. Fortunately, nothing major that I couldn't repair myself. It pays to be handy when taking on full time RVing. Yes, the night skies are amazing out west. Especially when you get away from the city lights...

I have seldom been lucky enough to have beautiful clouds in my pics and videos as you have at the canyon. For me it always seems like the sky is empty most of the time, or completely gray. I frequently wonder how long the directors had to wait when filming movies like "The Searchers" , or "Stage Coach", to get a sky full of great clouds. Anyway, I must compliment your editing and video capture again. As in many of your videos, your talent shines. Thanks for your hard work, and also for the info on camping spots(which I hope don't get too well publicized....Lol)

@T Kilg Yes, we were very fortunate to have that beautiful backdrop for this video! We do often try to shoot video on sunny days as it definitely turns out better. Fortunately we get a lot of those out west. Like you said, can't imagine waiting for both sun and clouds. Thank you very much for the kind words! It is amazing how much time goes into a video, however, it is also very rewarding to be able to share our experiences. I do love finding unknown or little know locations to camp and plan on sharing those with only our viewers. Hopefully they will keep them a secret! As always, thanks for watching and commenting!

18:00 somewhere close to where you are. They take the boy scouts for an overnight camp in one of these caves, you can see it from the highway and it has some Anasazi ruins in it

That'd be pretty cool to go camping out there in one of the caves... As long as you're not a sleep walker that is. Crazy high cliffs out there in some spots. Since you grew up there, you must know all the cool places to go.

Thanks for the warning about Valley of the Gods. We won’t be staying there. Great spot you found! - also shout out to Marc! I wonder how this shows on the Pro Dyrt as far as the land ownership goes? I’ll have to check this out. Liked the petroglyphs. Too bad about the graffiti. 🤨 What a cool place to hike! You like to really push the edge when you climb, huh? It looks dangerous from the camera’s perspective and Ann’s.... Are you part mountain goat 🐐? Thanks for the coordinates. 👍🏼 Ram

@Laughing Ram Good Evening Ram! Yes, check out this spot in Bluff or... See about camping up near Muley Point up on Cedar Mesa. That is where we will be staying next time we camp in the area. You would just need to come down from the north side so you can avoid Moki Dugway with your camper. Not sure about the Dyrt Pro. Have not used that app. The USGS does a good job confirming it as state trust land though and it is free! I do love those cliffs and ridges. I'm pretty careful though and try not to make foolish decisions. Example is when I was kneeling up on the ridge above the cave. There was a way to get down to the cave below me along the canyon edge and I decided it wasn't a good idea to take that risk as it looked pretty sketchy. Always did love climbing things though. Glad you enjoyed Ram!

Good evening Ann and Ed! You may have just found the site of our first travel trailer trip when it arrives in September or October. I will need a couple of weeks to get it solar’d up too. The area in this video is so underrated! This canyon area that you highlighted….what direction was it relative to your boondocking spot? Did you get a feel that you could camp vicinity that small canyon? My dog will have an epic time there on that slick rock. Comb Ridge is really cool! Did you get time to go explore it? My wife’s aunt used to own a trading post as you are leaving Bluff to the west. She said it was a restaurant now. I will ask her the name of it.

@campingalan Good Evening Alan! You'll love it there. The canyon is to the west of the spot. Here is a pin for the location of the overlook: goo.gl/maps/omwwH4CPqDX6nav36 No way to camp there as far as I could tell. Yes, your pup will love it. Just be careful with those steep drop offs! We did not explore Comb Ridge. We were going to hit some of the trails back there, but, the road was extremely rough due to the slick rock and our pup was a little traumatized from the rough roads we were on a few days prior. Will definitely head back there again someday though to check it out. So much to explore there! There is a place called Twin Rocks Trading Post and another called Cow Canyon Trading Post on the East side, but, did not see anything on the west side. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures there!

Hi Honie. Very nice discoveries in this edition. The area is mostly sandstone. Do you know what the whitish colord stone is? It sort of looks like lave when it droops of the landscape. Could you tell what it is? I envy your hiking ability. Thanks for sharing! Stay Healthy!

@Jon Miner Hey Jon! I Googled to find out what the rock at Comb Ridge is as it appears to be the same as what we had at that canyon and found that Comb Ridge's top layer is made from White Navajo Sandstone. Glad you enjoyed the hike! It was so much fun. Thanks for joining us!

I just found your channel as I was doing some research for upcoming camping trip. That spot is awesome, we are going to spend a couple nights there. I have a triple axle toy hauler. Should I be able to navigate to that spot with any problems, 41ft plus truck. Thanks

Hey Jim! No problem getting up there with your truck and rig. The road is in really good shape and trucks still use it occasionally to get back to the sand and gravel pit that is adjacent to the site. We only saw a few trucks per day go back there while we were there. Hope you have a great trip!

we have boondocked all over SW Utah for the last 10 years and find now that the only way we get quiet and privacy is to drag our trailer up some rough 4x4 road a few miles. Thankfully we have a 10 ft. trailer pulled by a Tacoma. V.O.T. Gods has gotten mobbed in the last 5 years. first few times we went there it was great. My opinion; way too much sharing on the internet.

No doubt about it. Great news is that there are still tons of places that aren't listed on the apps and websites that people don't know about and have no idea how to find them. Using tools like the USGS and the state land websites to find those out of the way places make them that much more special and rewarding when you discover them. Just checked and this one still isn't listed on Campendium... 😉
