Hi, Homie. The drone shots and music were perfect. The Mexican hat rock includes the wide base, not just the rocks at the top. Thanks for sharing! Stay Healthy!

@Jon Miner Hey Jon! Thank you! So, it sounds like we were looking at the Mexican Hat rock in the wrong perspective. Is it supposed to look like a Sombrero from a distance? I can kinda see that looking back at some pictures if I stretch my imagination a bit... Hope you and yours are also doing well!

So much awesomeness crammed into one episode! Once again, you showed me so much more than I ever got to see! Marc did a cool episode on the Moki Dugway too that really makes me want to drive it. Loved the music and truck cam views again!

Very cool video and music mix. Like me, my wife likes your camera. It really allows one to feel like they are seeing everything. This was where we were planning to stay next Spring, but I will wait for next weeks video. 🤔 How bad was that first little dip going onto the road into Valley of the Gods? It was hard to tell with your fancy video effects. Speaking of effects, I did like the one where it looked like you were driving on a small globe. Nice drone work over the monuments. 👍🏼 That highway looked kind of scary at normal speed. I think my wife would feel better driving than being in the passenger seat with me driving. 😉 Very enjoyable Ed. Thanks for sharing. Ram

@Laughing Ram Good Evening Ram! Appreciate all of the fine compliments. Glad you liked the music. Thought I'd change it up a bit and the tunes seemed to fit the scene well, so, thanks for the confirmation. I honestly wouldn't stay right there at Valley Of The Gods again. Too dusty and tons of traffic coming through, especially on the weekend as VOG is now labeled as a "Scenic Drive". People actually stopped and parked right in front of our rigs the one time, then walked through the campsite to snap some pictures. It was actually a little weird as there was an open spot where they could have parked just down the road a bit further. If you want to camp at VOG just for the experience, go early in the week and only plan on staying 2 to 3 nights max. You can also camp up near Muley Point by taking the road from the north (95 West from Blanding and then 261 South to Cedar Mesa) and that would be where we would camp if we ever returned. 261 is paved the whole way until you get to Moki Dugway (which you won't be going down with your camper...). Next weeks spot in Bluff was great as well and is close enough to the VOG area to visit. The dip into VOG was interesting. Pretty steep drop coming off the main highway, but, no issue for us. The wash also wasn't bad. There are a few grades on the road back where it's hard to tell where the top of the hill is as you're going up. Had to put it in 4x4 to keep the tires from slipping. Moki wasn't too bad as long as you pay attention to where to your tires are. No guardrails other than a small section at the very top. It is surprisingly well graded though. Glad you enjoyed and as always, thanks for watching and commenting!

Now that we have been there, this video is like a souvenir for us. We saw everything here in this video! In your one drone shot coming over the top of Setting Hen, you can see a small trailer just up from where you folks were at, that’s where we stayed. We were pretty far off the road and it wasn’t busy at all. In fact there was a day or two where there was nobody around at all. It was such a cool spot! I let my wife drive the Moki Dugway. She would not be able to handle my driving on that road. Good thing she didn’t see this video before hand and especially the upside down truck at the base. 😳 The road really wasn’t that bad.. I think Muley Point would be too windy for us. Overall, your cinematography is great! Thanks again Ed. Ram

Good morning Ed and Ann!! So...what do I do on a Monday morning when I am supposed to go move a piano................take a coffee break and watch this instead!! Whoooaaaa! What a great location! As always, your videos and narration are outstanding. Thank you very much for sharing your Valley of the Gods experience. This spot is HIGHLY on our list as a first trip when our camper arrives in October-- not too far from SW CO and the desert temps will have dropped. Maybe could do a few days here and then push over to the Lake Powell beach area that you've videoed in the past. I have some pics of flying over Cedar Mesa; I'll email those to you. Safe travels!

@campingalan Good Morning Alan! So, maybe I'm a little biased, but, I would say watching this video sounds way more fun than moving a piano! 😉 Seriously though, very glad you enjoyed. Definitely heed the advice of staying on the west side of the road when you go. It was crazy how much traffic was on that road as it's now billed as a "scenic drive" and there was a ton of dust coming from the vehicles. Looking forward to those pics of Cedar Mesa. Thank you!

@@EddieAtLarge Ah....that is awesome tip about staying on the western side of the road! I will also recon a way to get the trailer up on the Cedar Mesa. I could definitely handle a week or so on the ledge! Safe travels! PS. Operation Piano Move completed! A really nice family donated it to the Ouray School. They do live out on Last Dollar Road, which is an awesome Forest Service Road that goes from Ridgway to Telluride. I can't remember if I had it on the list of stuff to do that I gave you, but is definitely worth the time if you get to our area. Ha...as I transitioned from his access road to Last Dollar Rd, there was a drainage ditch we crossed. That definitely caused the piano to list left and right. After that, it was relatively smooth sailing for the 20 miles back to home (except, I was going 35 in a 60mph area; of course, everybody is in a hurry behind me).

@campingalan Glad you were able to get the piano safely to its destination! Sounds like an interesting trip. I completely forgot about seeing people camping up on Cedar Mesa. If I was to go back to that area again, I would definitely stay up there. You’ll be able to get there with your camper easily by coming over on 95 from Blanding and then down 261 from the north. That way you’ll avoid the Dugway. Guido said he took his Evo camper either down or up the Dugway the one time due to an error in navigation and said he wouldn’t recommend it.

@@EddieAtLarge Hi Ed. Ok...thank you for the tip with regards to directions to come with a camper to the Mesa top!! We would be coming from the Blanding way anyways. So that would work out well! Maybe we could camp on the Mesa a few nights, and then relocated down into the Valley of the Gods for a few, to mix it up a bit.

Yep, shouldn’t be a problem. There is a wash about 5 or 6 miles back that you will want to avoid, however, up until that point you should be good. Here’s the pin for the spot we stayed in: maps.app.goo.gl/zVEa7JMVwremwLWY8?g_st=ic There were a couple more spots not too much further back the road that were a little better. maps.app.goo.gl/zvbrH74wwWWNs4qt6?g_st=ic Have fun!
