As bad as it is, this is collateral damage. As animalistic as these "officers" are, the reason they are there is even worse, which is why cities have these "gang" units. The problem for civilians is that they are all BAD, there are no "Good Guys" anymore. Get involved in local politics to end these tragedies. Crimes have to be prosecuted

They are trained and taught that lying is an essential part of policing. WRONG. During a criminal investigation it is a tool to try to extract verbal evidence. Not to just blatantly lie about a light out, improper stop, fits the description, etc.

Each time they pull someone over, the department gets a credit for its budget. It's like a server pushing appetisers, desserts, and alcohol. Their sales go up. The pubis servants are taught and pushed to escalate in order to stack charges upon charges where there may not have been one. This is one of the reasons they are taught and trained to treat folks badly and with uncaring disdain. Taught to aggravate so someone may respond in a way that any sort of petty charge can be put on them..resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, trespassing, loitering/prowling, etc. This is why petty laws are made up and written into law EVERY DAY. The biggest crap is qualified immunity. Qualified immunity was formulated by the stupreme court in order to protect themselves, their judge and prosecutor cronies from the crappy decisions they make that hurts citizens no matter if they are blatantly innocent, but put away for bad judges or prosecutors. Then the corrupt police union lawyers realized it could be used to protect bad cops. If a citizen breaks a law and claims they did not know about it...tough. If a public servant makes a bad decision that ends up in a person going to jail and later finds out they screwed up because they did NOT KNOW THE LAW, they claim qualified immunity, and most times a loophole says that particular type incident, no matter how minute of a detail was different, gives the parties immunity..because THEY DID NOT KNOW THE LAW. Judges have almost pure immunity. If a judge agrees to send someone away for life, and 30 years later is found innocent..the judge blames it on the jury. Federal officers, even if off duty, doing a PERSONAL VENGANCE against a citizen, pulling a gun and firing at them have been granted immunity. Crazy.
