Julia, I'm a new fan. I really like your down-to-earth approach to weight training. I'm trying to incorporate this into my 40-yo-woman routine. I've seen you use collagen in your smoothies, but have you dropped all other supplements like reds and greens, etc.? My husband was asking if you do creatine, beta alanine, etc...he thinks I should get into those things, but I am all about using my own body to perform. Curious about your approach to supplements now in Phase 6.
Hi! I just downloaded the app. I wanted to do CUT. Is that SHRED in the app? Or are those two separate workouts? And is it a separate purchase outside of the app? Please help 💪🏽
SHRED is basically a CUT 2.0! 1 did CUT in the fall of 2022 (then BUILD in late summer of 2023) and then SHRED in the fall of 2023 leading up to my December 2023 wedding! CUT & SHRED follow the same training split and training style, SHRED just has newer, fresh workouts and slightly more low intensity steady state cardio...so it's a bit more difficult than CUT, that's why I consider it a CUT 2.0!!! I didn't have my app yet when I launched CUT so that's why it's the only program you can't find on my app! But all the programs I've created since launching my app in October of 2023 are on my app and then also available for purchase in PDF format on my website!

did you go to college and learn everything you know? I'm 17 and have struggled with mental/physical health for a really long time and I'm trying to become a personal trainer for mostly my own health at the moment. Also, what kind of equipment/ clothing brands would you recommend for a starting physical trainer?
You are absolutely right. What a game changer for someone (me) that thought the ONLY thing that would burn fat is cardio and HIIT. Wish I had known this long ago. ❤

Hi. Just wandering what time do you wake up and have breakfast? It looks super early. 😮
I normally wake up around 5:30/6 and my stomach is GROWLING when I wake up so I always go right into my water, coffee and pre-workout toast!
@@juliamerwin I see. That’s why you have second breakfast. I wake up around that time too but straight to weightlifting because I work 8-5. I usually have 30 minutes walk after work around my house. Love your routine though. :)
Always love these morning routines. Do you use any sun protection on your body? I know you use Fre on face.

Just have to say, I think your Apple Watch was faulty so your cons are extreme haha. The battery life does suck compared to Garmin’s for sure but it shouldn’t die by lunch time. I charge mine for an hour every night before bed and it tracks my sleep all night and all my next day. I’ve never had any issue getting accurate heart rate data from my watch. I really think yours was faulty. BUT having said that I am considering getting a Garmin 😂
As stated, mine was an older generation Apple Watch so I’m sure that played a role! But I had two Apple Watches total and neither could ever find my HR!

I would love to hear more about your opinion on formats like F45 vs how you train now! I go to a gym with a very similar format. We use weights at many stations but the rest is essentially 0 so we can’t lift as heavy as we would with appropriate rest time. I love the atmosphere but feel I may need to move on to reach my goals.
I think F45 is great for people who need the accountability and consistency (because the atmosphere is so fun)! But its not the best option if you want actual results and if you want to progress in the most efficient way possible!

Every day is different! Sometimes I do a second breakfast for lunch, sometimes leftovers for lunch, sometimes a salad with chicken, just depends! Watch some other full days of eating!

The watch is waterproof so I always keep mine on when I hop in the shower after a workout so it gets clean!

Hi Julia! This was a very informative video. I have 2 video requests, one substantial and one a little more superficial. Given your experience as a collegiate athlete, could you speak on recovery or well-being techniques or activities that should be coupled with weightlifting? To put it differently, what are your thoughts on when to seek a physical therapist or get a massage or see a chiropractor (a practice I'm still unsure about) for preventative care or maintaining good health? I don't have any injuries to work or an acute issue to work on but I was wondering if when you were training as a gymnast regularly, did you routinely see those kinds of health professionals for "check ups" or only for treatments? Right now I view going to get a massage as a luxury and I put it off even though I know it would help mentally. I know I have some structural imbalances and I've tried to see a chiro but I'm very skeptical about chiros so I'm wondering if it would make sense to see a PT instead. My more frivolous ask is a video comparing CRZ running shorts. I know you always state your size but it would be helpful to know your measurements so we can see how that compares to the size charts. I would love a side-by-side comparison to see what the same size in different shorts looks like (or perhaps you wear a different size in different shorts but they fit the same) and if you could speak on the differences and similarities like the liner fit and material, pockets, the cutout, etc. A lot of running shorts have a liner that cause visible panty line or wedgies and I can't stand it! I'm a petite person. I bought the mid-rise dolphin ones once in an XXS and they fit poorly. The rise was too short which caused the waistband to sit right above my hip bones and the shorts just flare out. The waist was tight, not too far from the size chart. However, I also have the low-rise feathery-fit flat waist in XXS as well but it fits perfectly even though the size chart says it'll fit a thinner person than me. I just happened to find it in a thrift store. I then ordered the high-rise feathery-fit flat waist but in XS because I wasn't sure if the XXS was an old model and fit - I was wrong, the XS is too loose on me so sizing seems to have stayed consistent. I even asked CRZ Yoga's support but they were unhelpful. I am interested in the high-rise split dolphin or low-waisted V split ones that you showed in a previous video. I feel wasteful ordering things in different sizes to try out and returning so I'd like to get as much information as I can before ordering. Thanks in advance and keep up the positive vibes and good work! It was great to learn from this video how you improved your diet and workout regimen and modified approach to reach your goals.
Hi! To answer your first question, yes I did plenty of rehab and pre-hab exercises while I was a collegiate gymnast because I did have some injuries that I had to rehab and then we did preventative care once I was healed and cleared! All with our team athletic trainer. I am not an expert when it comes to injuries and recovering from injuries so that why I always suggest seeking help from an expert in that field if needed! I can't really speak much else on the topic! If you want to correct any imbalances you have then I recommend finding a good physical therapist or personal trainer than you can see in person so they can identify those imbalances and correct them with you! To answer your second question, I honestly have no idea what any of my measurements are because I just always wear activewear haha. I'll have to buy a measuring tape so I can get my measurements! I just know what sizes I am in the brands I love and wear which is just CRZ Yoga and Abercrombie! All CRZ Yoga smalls fit me the same and I feel their sizing is SUPER consistent across the board!!

That's EXACTLY why I said "for those with squat/power racks"! I almost bought a roman chair but I'm glad I didn't because it would've just been another piece of equipment taking up space in my garage thus limiting the little free space I have!
