6/26/2024 Sir: I very much enjoyed this video - very informative. My 2007 5.7 Aspen 2WD 3.92 rear, 131k miles (fancy Durango) gets a P3400 code and comes back when cleared. Intake pulled and solenoids replaced February 2018 at 81k miles. 5w20 oil is always clean, oil pressure at 1,500 RPM is 50 lbs. Runs great. What are the implications of ignoring this “Cylinder Deactivation System Bank 1” code - what is the long term bad? Thank you for your help?

Use a bigger filter on those Hemi’s and change your oil often and you likely won’t have an issue!
@doxter3603 күн бұрын
So what do we do when all of that is okay?. We've swapped the engine tried a different computer, checked exhaust flow. We've done just about everything you can think of. If you have any tips that would be great. This vehicle previously had a lifter failure
@ReignitedAuto3 күн бұрын
You've swapped the engine and the PCM and you're still having a misfire on the same cylinder? If so, at that point you've already narrowed it down to the wiring harness. Either the injector wiring or the coil wiring is compromised.
@doxter3603 күн бұрын
That's the weird thing we've checked that before spending all the money we did. How would you test it just so I can make myself feel better I'd try anything. It's a multiple cylinder misfire but number 6 is the pissed off one. Seems nonsensical. And on this engine only seems to do it on cold start and you try to immediately drive it. And there's a code for wrong viscosity of oil but it's correct and just a break in oil. Bunch of weird things. Sorry but I'm desperate. Any help is appreciated

One of the best vids I've seen about the cam issue. I have a 6.4 scat and it had the cam problem. I will agree the car is not made to idle. It's a design flaw in the block. If you commute in a car like this sitting in rush hour traffic then you will have the cam problem. You say the MDS is well thought out. I don't agree. It's an inefficient add on because of cafe standards. With my car MDS is off in sport mode and I purchased a tuner to turn off MDS in regular drive mode. It's been 4 years since the cam was replaced and it runs like a top. The MDS would come on in 3rd gear, the motor/exhaust had a weird drone and you have to punch the gas pedal to get out of it. I get 1 to 2 mpg better on highway without MDS. It cost 6 grand to replace the cam then. I can only image what it costs today.

Why do you think the 1500’s are more prone to this problem than the 2500’s? Do they have different manifolds? Is it a 5.7 vs 6.4 thing? Someone enlighten me

My 6.4 scat pack now has 68 thousand miles. If I put the original oil pump on the Melling Part Number Change 10452HV, you won't get the error message that there is too much oil pressure in the engine. Should additional camshaft nozzles be installed so that the oil reaches the lifters and camshaft?
